I don't think I said anything about public statements, they mean nothing. I responded to someone saying that cutting EJ was the prudent thing to do (IIRC). To me that's not prudent, it's foolish on several levels.

I hope he's a bit chunkier. Does he look chunkier to anyone?

The prudent thing to do, especially because of the cap hit, is to see with your own eyes how he responds to your coaching. Anything else is folly IMO...(in case you think I'm enamored with EJ I'd suggest you dig up some threads from last off season), to say it publically you are correct...privately is another matter. Like why would a NFL GM/scout/HC ever trust a coach who steered them wrong on a player?

You are assuming that Whaley's public statements on EJ were his true beliefs, always dangerous when you're talking about an NFL GM. Personally I don't know why they'd cut EJ other than not enough off season snaps to go around. I'm not a fan, but, this is puzzling if true. I suppose the 2nd day of FA is give. Because the Bills expect to sign a QB day 1.

That's probably the best that can be said other than (hopefully) more to come.
