Post Game Thread Bills vs Pats*
jrober38 replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There's forcing things, and there's voluntarily throwing into double coverage when you have all day to survey the field. Allen makes the same mistakes week in and week out. He throws deep balls into double coverage, he throws prayers down the middle of the field off his back foot, and he sails the ball down the middle of the field when he rolls to his right. On any given Sunday he does some combination of these things 3-4 times a game. Usually he gets away with it but today the Pats made him pay for every terrible decision he made with the football. His decision making is terrible. The 2nd pick to Zay Jones was laughably bad. Frank Gore slips out of the backfield and the linebacker covering him literally falls down. Allen looks at him, sees that Gore is literally wide open in the left flat, and then still decides to heave a prayer down the field to Zay Jones, who is open but doubled up with the single high safety. The result was an under thrown pass and easy interception. The easy alternative, and taking what the defense gave him would have been a long gain that could have set up a TD. The Pats were in man coverage and there wasn't a defender within 25 yards of Frank Gore. -

Is he actually improving? His QB Rating is now under 70 on the season. He makes the same mistakes every week forcing passes into coverage, missing receivers on simple 5 yard outs, and taking sacks when he could throw the ball away. -

I disagree. Gore is averaging 6.4 yards per carry this year. Singletary was averaging 12.7. Allen often has all day to throw. Our penalties are often a result of him holding the ball too long, running around and our linemen grabbing because they don't know where Allen is scrambling to as he leaves the pocket. I don't view our offensive line as a problem at all. It's been way better than last year. -

Allen makes mistakes most guys learn not to make in college. 3 long throws into double coverage today. 3 interceptions. Here's no evidence he learns anything from his mistakes. He makes the same mistakes pretty much every game. -

The difference: Allen throws interceptions into double coverage and Brady throws the ball away. -

The Bills are a half decent QB away from having a Super Bowl contending team. Our defense is truly elite, we have a decent OL and enough weapons on offense. We just need a QB who can efficiently run an NFL offense. -
Allen is a liability at this point. His decision making is as poor as I've seen from an NFL QB. He consistently throws into double coverage, doesn't know how to take a sack or throw the ball away. His interceptions were all horrible, and the sack he took at the end of the first half that moved us back 5 yards when he had all day to throw likely took 3 points off the board. He did a similar thing last week on an intentional grounding that knocked us out of field goal range. The Buffalo Bills are an elite NFL team without a QB. Allen is super talented, but his decision making and awareness are really bad. He looked okay the first three weeks but in his first major test he failed miserably.

The Media's Portrayal of Trump and His Presidency
jrober38 replied to Nanker's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Paul Ryan is a real conservative who believes in conservative values. He cared about spending, and other conservative social issues. Ryan couldn't work with Trump because Trump isn't a conservative. His fiscal policy should be a considered a train wreck in the eyes of people who supported the Tea Party. -
Saying Trump has been exposing the corruption isn't based on facts. He wasn't successful finding anything on Biden, therefore we don't know what his intentions were because nothing played out. Judging by how he used the leaked democratic emails during the Presidential campaign to benefit himself politically, I don't see how this could even remotely be true. If Trump actually cared about exposing corruption, he'd have Hilary and a bunch of her co-conspirators behind bars.
-
Agreed. If Biden can't explain what happened, he should drop out of the race. Simple as that. Sure. If Obama had done the same thing, and gone to a foreign government for dirt on his political opponent, I think that should be investigated as Trump will be investigated. There are no double standards in my eyes. Everyone needs to play by the same rules.
-
Sorry, what did Obama do? Also, if Obama did it, I'd say that's inexcusable. Just because one guy did it doesn't mean the next guy can do it. That's not how you solve anything. Based off what I read no laws were broken by the Bidens. With that said, the video of him talking about withholding $1 billion unless they fire a prosecutor effectively ended his campaign in my eyes. Independent voters won't vote for a hypocrite democrat, so might as well drop out now since he's become so jeopardized as a candidate.

The issue is that Trump, as President, has unbelievable power to get other countries to do what he wants, and that could be to attack his political enemies domestically. That's the whole issue. He can do what no one else in the world can do because he's the most powerful person in the world. It's the abuse of that power that can lead to problems. As for Biden, my understanding right now is that neither he or his son did anything illegal. Unethical for sure, but they don't appear to have broken any laws. The level of his hypocrisy I think disqualifies him from continuing to run.

Really? The Ukrainian President asks for missiles for their defense, and Trump responds saying he needs a favour, asks about a cloud service and a server and claims he thinks it's in Ukraine (I assume he's looking for Hilary's emails). He then goes onto say he wants a new prosecutor put in place to investigate the Bidens. He openly solicits a foreign power for dirt on a political rival. And then ultimately he says his lawyer, Giuliani, will contact the Ukrainian President and set up a face to face meeting in Ukraine. Keep in mind that Giuliani has no official role in the White House, and strictly works for Trump. If this doesn't bother you, I don't know what to say. None of this is normal.

Bills weakness is becoming a trend in QTRs 2nd & 3rd
jrober38 replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He needs to learn to step up into the pocket, and accept that sometimes he's going to get sacked. I feel like he often has plenty of time to throw. His issues come when he tries to leave the pocket when he doesn't have to. Instead of stepping up he tries to run away and it rarely works. -
Exactly what I can't stand about the guy. The rules apply to everyone except himself. He is one of the worst hypocrites I've ever seen.

We've been terrible in the 3rd quarter all year. That needs to change next week or we're going to get blown out. Allen needs to stop trying to roll out to his right. He threw a stupid intentional grounding pass in the 1st quarter that knocked us out of field goal range and he made the cardinal sin (again) of rolling right and throwing back across the middle for the interception, which sparked the Bengals rally. That's like the 5th or 6th time Allen has done that. When is he going to figure out that you can't do that in the NFL? Allen is a gamer, which is great, but yesterday's game should have never been close. The intentional grounding, Yeldon's stupid fumble, and the interception all put the game in jeopardy. Can't make any of those mistakes against New England and expect to win. -
Trudeau is the worst. I can't stand the guy.
