Floyd Womack To Visit Today
Ozymandius replied to BillsGuyInMalta's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Based on what? MW has never played LT... at least Teague has. -
a tad pessimistic in this case, aren't you? the bills success for the upcoming season and further down the road won't be determined by just one position... you can win in the NFL with an average LT, of that I'm sure...if the bills have a bad coach in Mularkey, that'd be 10,000 times more worrisome... good coaches will gameplan around weaknesses... get ready for Peters/Teague/draft pick at LT b/c I can't see any other way... no one's going to trade an LT to us, and all the free agent tackles play on the right side
-
it's always tricky to play around with a player's weight, though... a RB can lose "just" 10 lbs and still lose a lot of football power

Jermaine Wiggins - TE
Ozymandius replied to Happy Days Lois & Clark's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i don't think he'll be cheap, and if we're going to bring a TE in at his price tag, that person should be able to block -
I don't know, I think they're good moves by the Dolphins to prevent further deterioration of a once great defense.

the answer is: pure speculation... not quoted sources

Ozymandius replied to Losman-McGahee-Evans's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think it may have been their original intention to have MW play LT when they drafted him, but I also believe that management quickly found out that he was not as good as they thought he was, and they have since changed their plans for him. That's why he struggled his first couple of season here and why he's never been tried at LT and why he never will be tried there. He can still be a very good RT, though. Forget salary. You shouldn't place players into positions based on salary. You should obviously do it by talent and skill. Putting Mike Williams at left tackle is like trying to fit an extremely fat peg into a skinny hole. -

I am truly surprised at how many people are suggesting the Mike Williams to LT position switch... I mean, what other LT in the NFL carries as much weight as MW? Is anyone within 20 lbs? I think MW would get JP killed at LT by RDE's that do a beep-beep routine right around his fat ass. -
Rumor from Cardinal Message Board

I would hate that trade... Henry and Clements are Pro Bowlers -

if you throw in a 4th, then denny green wins. why would we need to throw in extra valuable draft picks for a player that is in green's doghouse and that he wants to get rid of? don't get impatient. A straight up trade is more than fair considering our player has been to the probowl. !@#$ green if he won't take a straight up trade. i'm not down with OPP and have no interest in overpaying for it. -
The Toughest Man In The United States
Ozymandius replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i remember reading that 2004 would be the last season on his contract and I felt disappointed that we were about to lose this great coach to probably the Redskins where he could re-unite with G-dub... hopefully Krumrie got extended during the season -
i like the "i'm not gay" spiderman... i believe there's a video or flash thingy with ol' spidey dancing and proclaiming that fact somewhere on the internet

Seriously, how is TD going to fix

DeMulling filled in at center for the Colts whenever Jeff Saturday was injured, so the Bills could be looking at this guy for the center position. Teague-Gandy-DeMulling-Villarial-Williams

Please list every team you would swap
Ozymandius replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is a really great post. I think a lot depends, of course, on JP Losman. If he busts, your list might grow to 10 teams very quickly, considering the investment we've made in him. What I really like about the Bills is their future cap situation, as you've mentioned. The roster? Well, you're right, there's some very nice young players on it, but there's also very little depth, and it'll take a couple years of good drafting to build that up. Besides Henry, our best reserve player last year was probably the maligned Ron Edwards, and he might now be a starter. Here's a question. If Henry gets traded and Edwards becomes a starter, who's the best non-starter on this team? It's a tough one to figure out due to our shallow roster. -
Their wideouts were very pedestrian if not a weakness... this move makes them more potent on offense

Makes sense to trade Clements now
Ozymandius replied to jahbonas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
this is a suggestion I would have expected in the early 90's when free agency was new to football fans, not today. clearly you still haven't adjusted to free agency yet... you don't trade a pro bowl corner who's still cheap just because he's in the last year of his contract... there's something called a franchise tag... get another pro bowl season out of him, and if needed, tag him -
explain. why is that a dumb trade for the jets? I had Santana Moss on my fantasy team and followed him closely... he sucks. Jets just improved themselves, maybe considerably, at WR. Coles wanted to get out of Washington badly, so the Skins had no chance of getting equal value, and they didn't.

Tom D should be on the phone with Philly

Ozymandius replied to Marshmallow's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
you would get laughed off the board if you posted this trade on a philly site... who trades a 1st round draft pick for what would be a part-time RB? Henry would net us a higher draft pick than what the Pats had to give up for Corey Dillon? c'mon now -
5 teams that could overtake the Pats

why the heck wouldn't he list Philly, who was within 3 pts of them this season? -
Once and for all...is the TY LAW RUMOR TRUE?
Ozymandius replied to Rudyc80's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
considering how thrifty TD's signings have been so far, there is almost no chance the Ty Law rumors are true -
I think there's a better than decent chance Teague will be the LT next season, just based on my belief that TD isn't inclined to break the bank for a tackle in FA. Even a healthy, average tackle will probably get $2.5 to $3 million in this market, and I don't think TD is willing to pay that much money for an average player that in all likelihood would also be a RT that has to make the switch to LT. I think TD is much more likely to spend on a good center who can allow the bills to kick Teague out west on the line.

Won't be surprised if TD makes a move for Franks
Ozymandius replied to Mr. T's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
exactly... it's really all up to their rehab progress... I think the Bills are very, very comfortable with Campbell and Euhus in the two TE sets as long as they are healthy... they might look for one more masher of a TE to complete the roster
