  1. Seems like the golden days of ZIRP are coming to a close. Not sure there will be much demand for treasuries in the short or long term. Inflation is classically defined as an increase in the money supply...but banks have sat on that cash for some time and drained monetary velocity. It’s now coming back with a vengeance.
  2. For sure it is a symptom of inflation. People mistake inflation as ‘rising prices’ inflation is an increase in money supply. That supply which was held tight by banks for so many years has been trickling into all asset classes. Lots of cash chasing few goods. Thats why art and real estate and bitcoin prices are skyrocketing also, a 30+ year bond market bull may be finally dying.
  3. Not to belabour the point but .. lets assume the season had ended and Woodsy played all 16 games, 100% of the snaps, 4 of the last 5 seasons the entire season....as he did.... and this freak injury hadnt happened. Whats he worth on the open market. Or to the Bills? Easily an Alex Mack type of deal / 5 @ 45... then what? Everyone would be screaming - gah we should have just extended him for 2 years to match up with Cogs and keep him with Glenn... you just cant have it both ways. I wish Wood didn’t have to declare the end of his career this week and I’m certainly not thinking about the impact of the contract. This was purely a freak occurance and **** happens and you just try and sort it out. Reading into it as poor contract management rather than it being a rare incident is just complaining for the sake of complaining.
  4. Right. He was on a prove it deal. Making $1M And that in no way compares to Wood. If Cogs goes down in first year of deal it also isn’t pretty. They signed wood an extension because he has been a solid player and fully healed. No out - that I don’t understand
  5. Sorry but wasn’t Cogs a free agent and he signed his 3 year deal after his year was up? apples and oranges. Granted this is an unexpected turn of events that won’t work well for the Bills and the Cap - but **** happens and not much to do here. I don’t think a 2 year $16m extension is anything to get overly dramatic about. Its not a 5 year 50M contract front loaded. It was horrendously bad luck. When was the last time a player signed a contract extension and 1/3 of the way through it a medical doctor told him he could never play football again??
  6. You are talking about signing a guy off a free agent contract to a hometown discount deal (Cogs) vs paying a first round draft pick who had started all 16 games in 3 of the previous 4 seasons and has been an anchor on the line since Day 1. Other than a catastrophically shocking end to his career, what else did you predict? you know how contracts work, right?
  7. Again you are talking in hindsight. Cogs was never a drafted Bill and so he has to be treated differently. Wood’s contract is 2 years. He has been a major anchor on our line. Good player. Gets a minor reward. You would be the the same person moaning about why we didn’t lock him up earlier when he finished all 16 games and signed a big free agent contract with whomever.
  8. Which was how? and if Cogs suffered a career ending medical after first year of his contract, then what? wood was on a 2 year 16M extension. He played every game this year. Every snap. In fact he’s started and played every game in 4 of the last 5 years. What you are talking about is just silly hindsight.
  9. Is this a joke? how about - he’s been a very good center for us since we drafted him? I thought that was a good reason to extend players?
  10. Seems pretty arbitrary but interesting nonetheless.
  11. You never know. Nate might be delusional. How else can you explain 5 INTs in 7 drives?
  12. If anyone is watching golf, they finally got my memo to have the damn tracer on virtually every shot. Why not? Good job PGA! Go Tiger!
  13. Yeah this was unusual as it was just fried fish. Normally the banh mi I had were with pork or beef. I can’t find the pictures of this sandwich. It was epic. Nam was an amazing place for unexpectedly great sandwiches (and just food overall). Edit: found this pic but no pic of the actual sandwich. Also pho for breakfast and easily the best coffee I’ve had in the world.
  14. Long story. But when I was in Vietnam a few years ago- I had a giant fried fish sandwich cooked by an old lady street vendor. With the freshest French Baguette, cucumbers and chilies and some light sauce. When I say huge - I mean HUGE. It was twice as wide and 50% longer than a subway foot long. Cost? 25 cents.
  15. When I was 18 and living in the South of France, me and a friend decided to take the overnight train to Florence. We dried out the banana peel and best as we could. Rolled it up and smoked it. It was a struggle. Afterwards we discussed. He asked me: How do you feel? i said: like I just smoked a !@#$in banana
  16. There’s significant danger in having hands that are too big. Not football related.... wanking related....
  17. How is a guy who showed as little as possible promise as NP did, how could someone, anyone, in any universe, would go ‘all in’ with them?
  18. Bottom line is - if you are white, you are totally racist. If black, you can’t be racist. If you are half black (Halle Berry, Kaep) - you are black. If you are a quarter black (Obama) - you are black. If you portionally black and raised by White people - white people are the devil. This is what the media tells me.
  19. I wonder how many times a white man gets racially abused on a football field. My guess - every series of downs.
  20. Not one to complain about This...but.... was that ever A LOT of former Bills we watched today?
  21. We arrive at pick 21 and both are available. Both meet Parcells whatever QB criteria to the tee. Mayfield is an exciting prospect and Rudolph is a big pocket passer. Both have limitations as do all young QBs. It would be less ‘interesting’ to take Rudolph despite his prototypical stature as a big tall Ben Roethlisberger type QB. I think i take Baker. Would be an exciting 3-4 year project. He just wins. I would then, in an ideal world, trade 22 to whoever wants Mason...and pick up an additional pick. In a ‘payback’ for the Dalton throw, Bills trade 22 to the Bengals (who draft Rudolph) for Their 2 x 2nd rounders (pick 13 and 14) and a 4th. My first 2 rounds would look like this: 1.21 - Baker Mayfield, QB 2.13 - James Washington, WR 2.14 - Martinas Rankin, OT/C 2.21 - Trenton Thompson, DT 2.23 - Malik Jefferson, LB Im fully prepared to take on the GM role now.
