  1. I would bet a pretty penny that this is his last GM job in the NFL, everyone down here thinks Whaley is a total clown. I wonder what his reputation is around the rest of the country. He has found some talented players but he has shown absolutely zero ability to build a team. He makes short sighted rash decisions, I almost feel like it's one of us fans running the show. Oh it looks shiney! I need it!! Now!! Over paying Clay who had well documented issues with that knee. Trading a lions share for a WR in that draft...yikes. Clay was the Swiss Army knife of a tight end and Sammy was the best play maker in the draft. Gime those shiney toys. Right Doug? Way to much invested into a WR and we are seeing how easily that can turn around and bite a team. Messing around with drafting and signing players with preexisting injuries is another sign of a GM who just doesn't get it. The lack of forward thinking is probably my biggest complaint. No back up plan at WR? .... Spending to the cap in Rex's first year and leaving themselves very limited space to retool. Why must all eggs go into the basket when your trotting out EJ, Tyrod and Matt Cassle in a 3 way QB battle? Is that the year you want to go all in? Are we still all in? I forget. Trading for Shady and redoing the contract to appease him was also foolish. Ground and pound! Ground and pound! Why the hell you going to overpay an aging shifty back to run in Roman's system. Humans aren't meant to play football and Doug Whaley isn't meant to be a GM. A scout? Sure. He can go scout in the ACC he will feel right at home.
  2. Plenty of big named highly regarded WR's and athletes have struggled with this injury and returning from it. Julio, Edelman, Dez....those are 3 of the hardest working WR's and it took multiple surgeries to get them right. No one in OBD should have felt comfortable enough with Sammy returning to form and having no complications while doing so. It's going to take time... mentally, physically etc. It's not a curse or bad luck...it is a clueless organization whose recent history suggest they think they are smarter than everyone else. Shaq's fine. Sammy's fine. All is well.
  3. Right, a stress fracture to the outside of foot.
  4. I'm not one to blindly defend the organization, I did however read something yesterday on Sporting News in which Rodak said Sammy was out and Rex was saying he was hopeful Sammy would travel with the team. https://mobile.twitter.com/mikerodak/status/781553741753221121 Again not sure if they are traveling today or tomorrow...read into it what you want, the WR spot should have been addressed when the surgery was taking place. Playing around with the injury status column in hindsight....blah what a freaking mess.
  5. Sammy probably isn't traveling with the team and that would have given away any attempt at gamesmanship.
  6. WR's struggles returning from Jones fractures are well documented. The history speaks for itself, the team was ho hum about the details of the surgery and did not address the position. The injury in itself is not a death sentence but any forward thinking organization would address the position in that situation. Sammy was brought in to be a superstar, his immediate future was put in danger by the injury and the best we could muster was a 6th rounder on a WR with a preexisting injury. We can all agree on that...that's a big ole..... Come On Maaaan
  7. A wait and see approach is fair but even when I alluded to a Jones fracture and the difficulties that come along with it many folks wouldnt digest that. Instead they would rather categorize each individual poster and not look at the information infront of them. Your a smart guy, it's no surprise that Watkins is having a difficult time with this injury. It should have been expected and addressed by the team, that's where my focus goes....not to the other fans. We are an animal of our own and the differences create good conversation when folks are actually interested in it.
  8. No Sammy. No problem. Another all hands on deck effort and a 21-13 win.
  9. Yeah an already slow LB having major knee surgery always gets me excited.
  10. Adopt Ragland lol....sounds like career suicide...oh wait.
  11. Yeah I was the butt of that joke for a weeks, not that it come to fruition makes it any better.
  12. I picked up Nugent to make this watchable! Gio leaves a lot of guys in quicksand, I vouched for Hill coming out of LSU but he runs like he has lead in his ass. They under utilize Gio IMO
  13. Hmm spikes snap count will be dictated by how well they are able to stop the leagues leading rusher......not by what uniform Spikes wore. He will be a key part of the defense by default if Jimmy G. and or Brisket are unable to perform.
  14. Come on Nugent make your fantasy daddy proud.
  15. I read something on Sporting News that says Mike Rodak is reporting that Sammy is a no go for Sunday. Can anyone confirm that? I didn't link the article because I searched for Rodak's report and didn't find anything.
  16. Sounds like it's going to be Jimmy G. on Sunday. He has thrown at practice the last two days and completed passes of 30+
  17. Yeah I don't think we will win a game that Prince Sammy isn't taking part in.
  18. Looking like Kia built his legs.
  19. Yeah maybe. I didn't know he linked up with Major Applewhite. That kid was a warrior back when he QB'd at Texas. I hope that duo gets some NFL hype.
  20. Don't bring the Red Sox into this! Pats fans are a whole different entity.
  21. Give me the inexperienced stationary guy over the run/option QB every time. Rex should be able to formulate a good package of plays to confuse Jimmy G. Jacoby seems like a total wild card, almost like a TT. Break contain and screw up the whole game plan. No thanks.
  22. Blount is not invincible, we don't have the fastest LB's but we have guys that can knock the dog **** out of a thumper like Blount. Looking forward to that.
  23. Nope I was toast either way. No worries.
  24. Lol. Well the kid I'm playing dropped Brees for Ryan, I picked up Brees but didn't play him because I was sauced yesterday and put Luck in. I also started Kenyon Drake over Tevin Coleman so I fully deserve this mess in in.
  25. The Eagles have allowed 27 points in 3 games and fresh off a victory in which they held Big Ben to a FG. Impressive IMO
