If this is true that sounds like they would keep Whaley. I would be highly disappointed with that decision. Rex and his staff deserve all the criticism they get and their jobs should be in jeopardy but this group of players has also been a major disappointment and it was down right embarrassing out there yesterday. Whaley hasn't shown any forward thinking and with TT and Rex likely gone I'm not sure the reasoning makes sense for starting over with the same GM. Plenty of things have gone wrong for Whaley and he is as much a part of this as any. The Pegula's need to separate themselves from what they have come to know in the NFL and find someone capable of making football decisions on their own. Get outside of that comfort zone and fix this thing!!! You already fell for Rex's bluster don't sit around and allow a couple of finger pointers to sit around and make more bad decisions and waste more time. Whaley has never identified a starting QB, he hasn't been able to control himself in the draft room, he reminds me of myself doing my fantasy draft...I just love a player for whatever reason and I will over draft him by a country mile because of course I NEED him.

If your going to use them as an example I would remind you to mention Bledsoe.

Lions would be foolish to let Cooter out the door. I'd do him Coughlin style and promote that OC, bold move though after a nice season under Caldwell. Coughlin/McAdoo was a bit easier. Cooter has to be the number one target for anyone needing a coach.

All for it, but they shouldn't announce anything about TT. Let the new GM make the football decisions, the Pegula's need to be less involved and if they plan on attracting a legitimate GM they need to show they are willing to do that.

If the Pegula's are done with Rex then today is as good a day as any to fire him. The playoffs are out of reach and the team just embarrassed at home, it also turns out that TT has an injury clause that would guarantee him for 17'. That means a backup QB needs to play and you can move on from Rex today without wondering what the next three games bring. If today is not the day, they are firing more people than just Rex, or we have another year of all the same clowns.

His style is well suited for a snow game but calls and effort level on D were pathetic. A snow plow vs. 6 or so guys on ice skates and another 5 guys trying to keep their jersey clean for next week.

The difference of between a 6-10 finish and a 9-7 finish is a big deal in draft value. In each round of the draft you will lose 6 to 10 or so spots of draft position, often folks just think of the first round position. If you lose out and pick 8th instead of win out and 17th that difference in the 1st round alone is huge...you could trade down from 8 to 17 and acquire multiple picks...but since when does Whaley trade down! Your right just win out and trade up for the media darling of the draft, maybe we can take Woodhead in the 1st round...

Brandon's role and influence in football decisions is exaggerated by fans looking for reasons why this thing keeps failing. Brandon's success "marketing" the product is also exaggerated...He is selling tickets/merch for the biggest show in town and one of the most rabid fan bases in all of sports. Not sure I have had to do this before!!!! Here it goes!!! A common sense solution would be to replace Brandon and everyone else with influence and start a new. Way to little success, way to much guaranteed money being burned up, way to many rumors and leaks of infighting and jockeying for position. It's not really worth guessing ontop of this news, who knows how much truth there is out there. If they lose today they should do whatever it takes to lose the rest of the games though.

Same ole ...so they would promote Lynn and consider him for a HC because of course they only hire the best in Buffalo and can't let Lynn slip away!!! How about taking the hiring process seriously and rounding up all the potential candidates before setting your sights on just one.
