  1. A GM gets paid millions of guaranteed dollars in hopes that he can make an equal amount of good and bad decisions. A GM with a 50 percent hit rate would be considered a huge success. I find it hard to believe anyone of these guys needs our sympathy.
  2. I find it amazing how many fans are turned off by the thought of an aggressive move for a QB. Sure, trading up again would be a high risk maneuver but atleast they would finally be attempting to rectify the problem. As I said before, find the quaterback of the future and do whatever it takes to get him in here ASAP. If he is in this draft class that's great, if it's Trubisky great, go get em. To the poster who says a trade up like this would need to result in playoffs this season, I'd like to hear the reasoning. The playoffs are a pipe dream even with Taylor providing a serviceable floor at QB. The Bills lost more talent this offseason and they are once again changing faces of HC, OC, and DC. How are they going to make the playoffs with Taylor and the depleted secondary? Shady another year older? What are the chances Watkins, Shady and Taylor stay healthy all season? What is this LB core going to look like while playing the majority of their snaps in zone schemes? Who is replacing Gilmore? Safeties? Is Darby 2015 or was 16' more telling? Way too many questions for this team, unless they brought in Brady, Brees, Luck or Joe Montana the playoffs would be a miracle. As it stands their odds are 5th worst and not far from the bottom, that says it all and the guys in Vegas know more than us.
  3. I'm not a Love guy but I would prefer him over Horford. Horford is Angel Soft, Love is just a paper towel, Blake Griffin is a wet dream though. Hopefully they land the first pick and nail it. That would be a good young roster with which they could remain patient then sell off the appropriate pieces to get the third star, that would be in two years and coincide with Lebron's inevitable decline.
  4. The majority of C's fans understand they aren't built to win in the playoffs. They can't rebound. I would say about 1/3 of the tuned in sports fans would not be surprised to see Chicago knock them out. Jalen Brown looks to be the real deal but hasn't been aggressive since his fallout with Smart.
  5. I'm playing defense tonight for the Bruins, I don't know how to ice skate but I have a good stick and I roller bladed one time in elementary school. The open tryouts were fierce, I beat out some bank robbers from Charlestown, a few yuppies from Cambridge, and Ray Bourque's long lost bastard child.
  6. If they take a QB and halfway through TC he over takes Taylor as the starting QB...you would have a hard time finding anyone who is not excited.
  7. Can't help but feel for IT.
  8. You know the buisness. Until a GM wins he is going to be second guessed on a regular basis. Whaley hasn't done enough to ward off the naysayers and on multiple ocassions he has been his own worst enemy. The longer the team goes without winning the harsher the critics get and that is true in any sports town. Buffalo has a rabid fanbase, saying Whaley can't win is only true because his teams don't win. The folks that were a part of the success in the 90's won over the fans, heck they did it without ever winning the SB. Look at the ovation Norwood got, Kelly's support, Reed, ETC. Bills fans are knowledgable and after nearly two decades of ineptitude it's pretty easy to pick out a failure. Whaley has been that. Perhaps some of that can be attributed to the new owners mistakes with the Ryan hire, but as the GM he is and has been the face of a lot of it. He is well paid and has a job many folks would kill for, I don't think it's an impossible position by any means.
  9. I like the player but the Bills have much more pressing needs. Karlos and Gilly both ran for a high YPC and touchdown percentage while spelling Shady. They just used a draft pick last year on Williams and with the depth of the RB position in this years draft, they can scoop up a roster worthy UDFA.
  10. Right. They married Sammy the day he was drafted. Although Watkins has been a frustrating story since being drafted,he has shown enough promise that you can't walk away from the investment. The comparisons to Jones and Dez are a little bit far fetched but this "source" or "rumor" was created to stir the pot anyways. Zero chance they let him walk away. He is the best WR at OBD even he plays with a cast on his boo boo foot.
  11. 1. Mike Williams : Saints 2. Corey Davis : Ravens 3. Malik Hooker : Chargers 4. OJ Howard : Arizona 5. Mitchell Trubisky : Jets Bills Pick : Deshaun Watson
  12. That's such a bad draw for the first round, I hope they can battle back.
  13. Awesome, the league is more fun with Marshawn in it. Bonus, maybe he can contribute and help wrestle the AFC from the Pats.
  14. Bruins down another D, Boroweicki just went knee to knee with Miller.
  15. I'm trying to transition from beers to sipping liquor. Tequila might be my first choice. It's an easy way to shed some empty calories. 1800 on the rocks I suppose? Any other reasonably priced Tequilas that would be worth a taste?
  16. Probably for the good of the team but we can't be sure of it. We can be sure that Taylor and his agent didn't know his market value though. We can also be sure that Kraft is funneling Brady money. We however can't be sure that agents discuss estimated value for their clients because that's against the rules. However evading the salary cap and making a total mockery of the NFL is widely accepted, even more so no one will notice when you win 5 rings. It's all so blurry now.
  17. Who knows? Nobody does. Right Name an instance when a 8? year professional athlete whom is yet to make any serious money at his craft left MILLIONS on the table so he could remain with a perennial loser..all while being in the prime of his career. Informed speculation is always more worthy of a discussion than just throwing out misleading comparisons.
  18. If he wants to win and he is such a desired commodityaround the leauge, why didn't he take he take his pro bowl participate ribbons to Denver or Houston?
  19. When you start pointing at Brady's sacrifices to justify why Taylor did what he did then you are trolling. The only thing worth mentioning is that they played the same positions. Nothing else is close, including the contractual details. Brady has been paid well for years, Taylor is a bench dweller in the prime of his career who just lost millions in order to keep a door open for himself. Hopefully he can earn those millions back otherwise he is nothing more than a place holder and soon to be the next in a long line of Bills QB fails.
  20. Yeah crazy to think they threw a way a year of his rookie contract for this run. I guess he looked good in Providence for the few games he played. I have never seen him play, so I'm excited. Carlo and Krug are both out maybe that forced their hand? No idea.
  21. Bruins fan, tough matchup against the Senators. After they fired Julien I made calls for the cup!!! I'm sticking to it but I have my doubts. Charlie McAvoy got called up and is expected to play with Chara. Krug and Carlo are out as far as I know. Good luck.
  22. Are you going to announce another pick?
