I thought that I heard something last night that they admitted they decided to draft Garrett two weeks ago? This is going to go on all day, it's crap.

Can you have ESPN taken off of your cable package? Not worried about the 7 or so bucks it supposedly costs but more to make a point. The channel is total garbage, I used to listen to the Mike and Mike show most days at work now I can't even stand that.

This draft sets up nicely for the Browns. They have a ton of holes and a ton of picks. It's a deep draft and they have the luxury of also getting the best player on the board. If I'm then I let the board come to me.

Where is the racism? Hockey players are mostly white, mostly white kids play hockey growing up and they play in the most competitive programs. NFL is mostly black, some of the most competitive middle schools-college are down south in predominately black areas of the country. Soccer- our blacks and white cant compete against Europe and South America because of course the game isn't played as widely here. Take Americas best black and white athletes and get them to play soccer from the ages of 3 until they are old enough for WC. We would certainly have a chance. Swimming? Really?? Use your brain what percentage of whites make up swim teams vs. blacks? Genetics vary on an individual basis, to group together entire races and compare them is sloppy at best.

We can agree on that one. Many teams have fired their GM/HC at seasons end and then went on to execute the draft. The timing makes zero sense unless they had some sort of "trial" period. After last years draft, last seasons fail, the Ryan firings, then post season presser gaffe...he isn't fired? But now he is toast because the draft is over? You needed him to sit there while you make the selections? I'm not buying that.

They butchered the Dareus contract. If he is let go I wouldn't say they lied. I'd say Pegula hand picked McD and they had a conversation about attempting to work with Whaley. This way the new coach could get a taste for the GM that struggled working with the previous two coaches. That's the only thing that makes sense to me.

If this scenario is true, best case is that Mono's is taking the reigns and he has the ability to make his own decisions. From the sounds of Pegula's last interview it's going to be a group effort.

I don't see how you can fire all a GM's scouts, then demote that GM to head of scouting and tell him to find all new scouts. That doesn't jive.

I was typing out a novel but the thread got locked or moved here! Coach Tuesday : of course I saw last years draft. During/after that debacle I was one of the more vocal posters flaming Whaley and coming every step of the way. Contrary to the quote above I find it hard to believe the best way to execute the 17' draft is with a rookie HC, sitting (powerless) GM, Pegulas, and Russ. That war room is like trotting out horses vs. tanks.

Hey no one will be happier when Whaley is gone than me but this is certainly not an ideal situation to execute a successful draft.

If it's true then I think they draft defense early and often. That's MC's strength and he can't feel comfortable with all the turnover in the secondary and the LB crew.
