Because the new regime can do wrong. Am I doing better?

How do you suppose those same NFL evaluators would react if Mike Tolbert was walking the mean streets of free agency? It makes zero sense to keep him over a younger guy with potential. This all but ensures the Bills will be wasting draft picks on a RB because they don't even have a younger pair of legs on the roster.

Are they paying more for a journeyman RB who hasn't had any semblance of success in the past 3 or 4 years than they would have paid a guy on a rookie contract? Tolbert had something like 3.1 YPC last season, he is overweight and had about one good season in his entire career. What's the smarter move? Pay the younger guy less money knowing that at minimum he can duplicate the vets production and at best he can be #1 RB after Shady goes to bed?

Yeah much better value for the team than say over paying an aging vet like Tolbert.

This is called a suckers bet. Stay away IMO.

I think we have a don't beat ourselves, play to the whistle, kick and play defense type of guy. I don't see him making many gambles on or off the field once this thing gets under way.

I think some fans of the players that got shipped out are really under selling the Bills chances at middling this year. They have the Jets twice, a few other winnable games, and they will steal a game or two. In no world do McBeane want to start the media avalanche of a cellar dwelling campaign. They have even said as much.

Can we agree he seems to be a conservative coach? Isn't this how we should expect him to act? He is playing it safe while waiting to cash in on the draft pile they accumulated for next season. The length of his coaching tenure depends on how successful they are in the 18' draft. He has to see that. 17' is all about coming off as competent and replacing the obviously out of place Ryan and his cast.
