  1. tough call. you want to see JA and the new offense get out there and score points but I have the feeling it will be a defensive battle. low scoring. could go either way. obviously want the win and a win will make a statement coming out of the gate, so this is a must win division road game.
  2. successful and great don't belong in the same sentence? how about just leaving it as successful then. meaning, starting for a team for a number of years and at least seeing some post season action through your career. as for the omitting sitting. I was leaning more toward those, mainly rookies who were thrown in to the fire, kind of like JA was. I was or do not oppose to sitting, quite the contrary. I'd rather a rookie sit a year or two as part of his development. as for your choices, all good, I'm sure there may be more through the years. my initial drawn out point was one can not say fail anymore then (as chemical seemed to show more toward failing) succeed this early on when referring to JA. it certainly could go either way but it looks as though Beane and company made what should be the right moves that could very well contribute to his success as well as the team as a whole? he did not look great at all last season but he showed some signs for potential so here's to hoping he does take that necessary step forward in year 2.
  3. can you name some successful QBs that did not make the step up in year two they needed to and didn't see real success, until year three? I mean franchise QBs that may of taken more then two years to develop? it really shouldn't include those sitting behind anyone on the bench. I could go do the research myself and would guess there are a few QBs that did find success in year 3 but I figured since you are so knowledgeable of the game, namely QBs, you would already know of such QBs who had? I mean you seem to already claim JA to be bad and rarely do they go from bad (year one) to great (year two) by year two, or so you don't think it will happen anyway? seriously, name a few that became successful (great) by year 3. can you do that? personally, I would give him 3 seasons. if he really doesn't show any (which I really don't see a decline) improvement in year two it may be time to start thinking about his replacement? either through the draft or fa and have the QB competition in year threes off season. if JA beats any one out, he gets the start in year 3 but would be on a short lease? if he still did not improve he's benched and replaced (haven't we seen something like this before?) and likely considered a bust. however, I don't see that hypothetical coming to fruition but rather I see with the added talent on (oline, wr, rb) offense he should be able to make more (successful) plays (throws) and the team, on both sides of the ball, should be competitive in 2019 only to fall short of the post season, finishing at 9-7? this is where year 3 comes in to play. the wizard Beane with yet another (his third draft) off season to work with and a draft strategy loaded up with draft picks acquired from the past trades and a draft year loaded with wr talent (among other good talent off/def) that should give even more weapons to help JA continue on his road to success? year two will be a big challenge for JA, there is no doubt (record data shows most QBs with a below 60% rating fail) that the successful rate for QBs who hold a below 60% passer rating are less likely to succeed compared to those with above 60% rating and who went on to have great careers. I know some use JK as an example of a QB who was below 60% and still had success but this is a different era where passing is a key component in today's nfl. that doesn't mean I don't believe JA could be the exception to the rule, as he very well could and can a long with the other physical attributes he brings to the game, I really believe the kid shows improvement in year two and that will cause the critics to possibly come around some. sure, it's how I see it but it looks better then the dark clouds some are already under when looking at the future of not only JA but the team as a whole. I know age has crept up on me so maybe I don't see as good as I used to but from what I have seen these last couple of years, is a team, a whole different feel of team, one that seems to be very close and all looking and reaching for the same goals that may become something special. that's just me though. one week, 7 days. we have all been waiting and wading through the off season sludge to get to week one. enjoy the ride and GO BILLS!!!
  4. too funny to see those who now are not happy with beane or those who have never really supported him can mock the cut because he cut the old running back. instead of realizing it was time to move on and the young player, singletary, will fill that role and likely get through the season unscathed where old shady would be standing on the sidelines with his groin or hammy injury by week 5 collecting a check. no, beane is building a team, made up of a lot of young players he acquired through the draft and there comes a time when you dump your fa and fill the spot with the young player from the draft. he made it pretty clear fa's were there to fill the void temporarily until replaced with his draft prospects.
  5. singletary will make everyone forget about old shady. I enjoyed shady when healthy but I have a feeling singletary will step in to that role quite nicely. I find it funny how some fans get all bent when a used up player gets cut. it was time to move on, so they did.
  6. that would be like me saying if it's going to hit somewhere, I'd rater it be north of me in ga or the carolinas. rather selfish of me to think like that. I really mean no offense but that's the take I get from you. I understand though, nobody wants it to hit their home so it becomes easy to be more selfish as to where you would like to see it land. it's going to hit somewhere, lets just hope no lives are lost as we know there will be immense damage somewhere along the east coast by mid week. wishing you well up there, where ever you are.
  7. you don't say.
  8. you are correct on all counts. Which is greater perception or reality? Perception is more important than reality. If someone perceives something to be true, it is more important than if it is in fact true. This doesn't mean you should be duplicitous or deceitful, but don't go out of your way to correct a false assumption if it plays to your advantage. Do you believe perception is reality? “When truth is blurred by lies and misinformation, perception becomes reality and all is lost.” What people perceive is usually what they believe, and this is based on what they hear, see and think. Most of the time we cannot control what happens but we can always control our reactions.
  9. wasn't really dissing him as much as I was saying they wont be going and that would be a drag for him. I wish him well where ever he lands.
  10. so this is what a meltdown looks like. IN
  11. all good man. trust me, I'm not the most easy going "boomer", old head, dinosaur or whatever one is referenced as here in the 21st century. I certainly can ruffle some feathers with my views and beliefs and I'm far from perfect so no need for the apologies.
  12. it's not "all" older people thinking that way. I don't believe the next generation has any less or more of a chance to succeed than the one before, or after for that matter. there were also self entitled brats in my generation and the one before, so it's not necessarily a millennial thing. rosen made his own bed, now he has to sleep in it. not saying he will be totally unsuccessful but at this point his feet are not on solid ground yet to be able to prove anything and on his second gig, backing up ole fitz. should be interesting to see whether the bills can take advantage of their, at this point, team dismantling/rebuilding process. I suspect a sweep. time will tell.
  13. I'd rather mother nature would just stay clear for all. Micheal wiped out the whole town of mexico beach last year, not 150 miles from me. no, she don't play where ever she lands. hunker down and hoping no lives are lost.
  14. what a let down for him if he chose the patsies. possibly thinking they'll be in yet another sb, only to be let down when they don't make it.
  15. it's looking more like it will miss florida all together and skate up the coast moving more in a ne track toward ga, carolinas? when I say miss that doesn't mean florida wont feel the impact of winds and rain, just not a dead on impact. rather turning north and soaking the east coast, ga, carolinas.
  16. I couldn't find anything saying a team ever has went over the deadline. I would think they had a pretty good idea who was making the cut long before the 4 pm deadline?
  17. patiently awaiting the final 7 cuts. they know who they are yet will wait it seems to release the final roster. how long can they put that off?
