They say our love won't pay the rent Before it's earned, our money's all been spent I guess that's so, we don't have a pot But at least I'm sure of all the things we got Babe I got you babe, I got you babe

I've seen that, love it! I still have a connection with a friend from 2nd grade that I listened to Chicago with. He went on to a career in music. I was thrilled when both my boys played 25 or 6 o 4 in their middle school jazz bands. When my eldest was in high school the jazz band played Make Me Smile and the drummer absolutely stomped his solo towards the end. Good times!

I'm all over the place with what I listen to and what I like. Hard rock, blues. metal, punk, reggae, ska, pop,...recently I revisited some of the 70's Soul Train-ish stuff. And if there's humor involved, even better - pretty sure we both share a love of Zappa. There are still great bands making music. One band worth checking out (if you're not already familiar) is Umphreys McGee. IMO they're a jam band without the hippie mentality. They play pretty much every genre that I like, great live band and have a history of mashups/medleys like this (Marley/Talking Heads/Chicago/Zappa):

I did not know that. I'm sometimes amazed at the great music I've never heard. This thread has been good for that. BTW, Dumb All Over deserved more than one like from me. I remember hearing a rockin' live version many years ago - back when the term bootleg would have applied.

@Gugny @Another Fan Damn, who knew the Ratgate would still have legs. According to the story, Lindor actually grabbed McNeil by the throat. I wonder who leaked the story - maybe the recently fired Zack Scott https://nypost.com/2021/11/03/francisco-lindor-grabbed-jeff-mcneil-by-throat-during-mets-spat/

Lattice of coincidence. Heard this for the first time a few weeks ago hanging with a friend. He told me it was Boz and said guess the guitarist. Mentally Duane was my best guess -but I dismissed it cuz I didn't think Boz went back that far.

Bills Classless Again [Edit: FinHeaven message board]

I thought the thread had a reasonably balanced response to the OP. Didn't see that on the Chiefs site after we beat them. -
For you, baby, I would swim the sea Nothing I'd do for you that's too tough for me I'd put out a burning building with a shovel and dirt And not even worry about getting hurt Ain't that tough enough

Heard from a friend that the Braves PA played 'It's a Small World After All' when Altuve came to the plate.

Speculation is that the NL will be adopting the DH. These may be the last three games with a pitcher in the staring lineup in MLB.

#MeToo It was a bad sign when the guy who brought a WS to two big markets that hadn't won in ages wasn't 'a good fit' for the Mets.

Absolutely remember Brent Mayne. Prototypical backup catcher - which is not a negative statement. It's amazing to me how many players I remember from years past. Not so much lately. Now I'm watching my boys who know the players while they ridicule me - circle of life. Good times. When my boys were young I took them to a Mets/Braves game, warned them that Chipper was a Met-killer and then watched him get a big hit. My Chipper is their Freddie Freeman. But yeah, I'll take the Braves over the Astros this year - never thought I'd see the day I rooted for the Braves.

@Gugny @Another Fan Once in awhile I come across something that I have to share with my TBD Mets brethren. I haven't watched much post season baseball but turned it on tonight and saw Astros pitching coach Brent Strom come out for a mound visit. Holy $%&% - I haven't heard that name since my childhood. Looked it up and he pitched in 11 games for the Mets in 1972! I remember him from either a baseball card, a 1972 Mets yearbook or maybe a scorecard from that year - not sure at all.

Who is going to celebrate Jack Eichel's birthday tomorrow?

Jack Eichel's mom? -
No temper tantrum after the loss? That's a good thing, but not typically what I see around here after a loss.
