Are the Bills making us emotionless?
Zona replied to CoachChuckDickerson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've said before, and I'll say it again. This team needs a few Playmakers. Those guys who can make POSITIVE plays to win games. Guys like Kelly, Reed, Thomas, Smith, Talley, Bennett , Etal..... I dont care what their 40 times are. I care about how big is their Heart, and do they find a way to win? -
he plays like McQueen....

I am going to Vegas to place a few bets this weekend. I would have to say that my favorite play is the UNDER in the Bills/Pats game. Our boys haven't gone over since last year midseason. In addition to the QB situation in Chicago, Urlacher probably wont play. That makes the Eagles a good bet... BTW- someone posted earlier that they dont tease or parlay. That's ALL I do. I will tease the Bills to 11.5 the Eagles to -3 and maybe the Jests. Parlays are for the big payoff, and the Teasers give me the bankroll to comeback next week....

Yeah, me too, WTF happened? I liked LA's stories....

Did you guys check out the new BANG cartoon?

That was awesome. I loved the Doctor, "damn fool, this is Texas...?" -
I generally don't respond to Guests, but you have voiced some opinions that I think have some merit. I was wondering myself if this team was SLOW. Travis is for sure, Moulds may be getting there. If that is indeed the case, then Gilbride HAD to go. His offense is totally wrong if the team has no speed. OTOH- MM has the right offense in place to win as many games as possible UNTIL we can re-tool the offense a bit. I think McGahee, Evans, and Losman were all picks designed to make this team faster. Maybe Donahoe realized this and is trying to solve the problem? All I know is, if the season tanks, and the Bills are 2-7 or 2-8, we had better see alot of Losman. But I will still hope for a rebound, and a playoff year with Losman not seeing the field until mop-up time in the SB... Hey, a guy can dream cant he?

Thats how I found it, too. From the D&C page. Registered a couple days after it was required. Been here since '98. I dont post much like I used to before post counts, but I still read the board daily, and get ALL my Bills news here....

Maybe so Frez, but the Bills needed it. Maybe they can pull their heads out and find a way to make some plays.

I would have to agree that Boondock Saints is Mainstream. Nonetheless it IS a very funny movie. It is my favorite black humor film, with "Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels" a close second. Snatch is also good...

I hope we are wrong AJ1. I for one HOPE Drew is not the problem, and the Bills go on a run. But I need to see some signs of life....SOON!
-
Let me get this straight. NE put Brady in due to injury, and all they have done since is win 2 fuggin SB's.... Maybe it is Drew, maybe it isn't. I for one would like to find out. But I dont want to find out with Shane Mathews. If Brown were still on the roster or if JP were healthy, I would say go for it. Since they are not, Drew is the only hope until mid October. Unfortunately, if the offense doesn't put more than 10 points a game, our season may be over by then....

NOBODY is making plays for us right now. The Defense didnt make a play when the game was on the line against Jax. The Offense didnt make a play on 4th and 1 against Oak. And the Special teams haven't made a play in forever.... Somebody needs to make a play, and one of those ST players who held should be released. After the first penalty, I would have made it clear not to hold again. After the next guy did it, just release him.... Great coaches have no problem releasing players in mid season. Parcells, and Belichek come to mind. Even if its a scapegoat, it sends a message. All i want is a few guys who can make plays happen. Kelly, Andre, Thuman, BS, Biscuit, even Kelso made plays when they had to be made. That is the biggest difference between then and now.Who is going to make a play for this team?

Yowzah, thats movin' pretty good. My top speed was 140+ in my '65 gto....

There comes a time when I wish a player would
Zona replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was thinking that EXACT thing last night. When Drew was a Patriot, I never was afraid of him. He just is not a playmaker. He NEVER finds a way to get the job done. He was able to get the ball to a playmaker usually, but he cannot any longer I fear. -
OK, here is my view after seeing about half of the show. (my brother came over unannounced) The Raiders are inconsitent at stopping the run. Great at times, then mediocre. They did allow three rushing TD's, all from close range. They were beat up and pushed around at times. I think we can run on them. Offensively, they no longer run the Dink and Dump offense from the last ten years. They run off tackle, run off tackle, go deep. Just like the Raiders of old. Gannon used play action to burn Polamalu on more than one occasion. They turned the ball over, gave up sacks, and cannot run the ball consistently. If the Bills play solid run defense, and not bite on the play action, we will do very well. I also think our offense can run the ball if we make the fat guys go lateral. We can also have success with the short passing game if we go more to the TE's and RB's. Drew will have to be VERY selective when challenging Woodson and Buchanon. Prediction Bills 23 Raiders 13

I want to see this show and see what they have to say about the Raiders. We may be able to learn a little something...

Time to take the training wheels off the "O"
Zona replied to Justice's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I love the new run first offense. My only complaint is that we haven't yet tried to go deep. At least one time a game you have to fake the dive play and go long....if Evans isn't behind the defense, then drew can just chuck it as far as he can so that no one gets the ball... -
Shows I like on the NFL network include: Game of the week---They pick one game and break it down with tons of added behind the scenes stuff like play calling, coaching, players communicating, etc. It gave a very good idea of what was going on in the game. Playbook.---three ex-jocks preview the coming weeks games, breaking down films, schemes, and players. Its what espn wishes it was. Total Access---similar to nfl live from ESPN, only less fluff from the talking heads, and more interviews, highlights, analysis, etc... I too, love this channel. I watch it daily.... BTW- I sing that damn song now even when I am NOT watching the channel....

HEHE drew bledsoe a statue? Foxboro Mike , is that you? No seriuiosly, we have been having a drew bledsoe debate for 9 mos. I cant say I can blame him for this one. I think its mostly just a losing mentality. It will turn around I think, just not sure when....

I haven't seen anything here about this but my brother noticed that the kick was really blocked. A Jag lineman just got a peace of it with his fingers. Made it turn a little and hook.
-
He could YOOOOOO, but why would he. A td is still a td. He only needs to explain when he changes the call, otherwise he COULD just say it was inconclusive.... All I want the Refs to do is, Make the call. Let the replay show if they got it right, then fix it. But only on big plays. Missed a spot? oh well. Ball came out on a catch for a 12 yard gain? who cares. Did he maintain possession on the final play of the game to give the road team the win? Yeah thats a big call. Lets get it right regardless of who called what....
-
I agree with you. I personally think all calls should be reviewable. But you hit on the answer yourself. The league wants the officials on the field to mkae the call. Certain calls are (ie judgement calls) they dont want to review so that guys on the field are not second guessed, or timid and indecisive. They want the official to MAKE THE CALL!!! if you say hey, this guy was down!!! then, by god he was down. Or This guy was PUSHED out, then by god he was pushed... Personally I think the refs should be trained and taught that if the Ball comes out, let the play go and review it if challenged. Dont call the guy forced out, let the replay show if he was pushed out. Quick Whistles and bad calls have screwed this league up for years. Thats why there is replay to begin with. But if you are going to have replay, do it like the NHL. Put a permanent replay official in the booth and let him buzz the field if there is a problem. Give each coach 1 challenge. PERIOD. dont waste our time on the meaningless calls. save that damn challenge for the game winning or losing call.

Can do Bill. I will ALWAYS say a quick prayer for a fellow Bills Fan.

How does Denver keep finding RB'S?
Zona replied to buffalo mike's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Its not just the O-line, it is also the blocking schemes. Denvers O-line is the Smallest in the NFL and has been for years. They want guys there who are athletic and mean. They ask guys to get in position and keep a guy busy for a second or two. They dont ask for pancakes or push a guy around. Just get in front of him or cut him, and the RB will do the rest. EVERY Rb that Denver has had for the last 10 years that has been a success has ONE attribute in common above all else. The ability to see the hole and get threw it. The hole is not always going to be were it is supposed to be. Being able to see the hole and get there is what makes a good RB. Sometimes it will be a bigger guy, sometimes it will be a smaller guy. Just find the hole and get threw it...
