  1. What some Bills fans here simply don't get is... that if ODB had a game like Sanders with no catches...he would most likely do the opposite of Sanders did and do his head down, shoulders slumped whining thing. The very last thing this team needs is a whiner when he isn't getting the ball or his father posting vids about how wide open he is. Beas stated that he knows the team is full of receiver talent and doesn't mind if the throws don't come his way in a game. Because he knows there will be other days when he is busy like this past Sunday. In their last game Mayfield took a hit, got up and fist pumped to show he was alright. The crowd cheered. Meanwhile... "But as cheers greet a fist-pumping Mayfield, Beckham walks right past him with his head down and shoulders slumped. There is no high five or congratulatory word as the two players pass each other. The claim that Beckham disassociated himself from the rest of the team in the locker room becomes credible."
  2. Exactly! The Bills have enough talent at the WR position and certainly don't need a head case disrupting the locker room. Even his teammates slam him. “(Beckham) does nothing. He talks to no one. He just has a malcontent attitude.” https://www.brownsnation.com/anonymous-browns-player-rips-odell-beckham-jr/ Watch the videos in that link.
  3. He and his father posted videos that show him wide open and Baker Mayfield refuses to throw to him. Basically why he is disgruntled. The thing is... the Browns use a timing scheme where a receiver needs to be at a certain spot on the field at a particular time...and Beckham never is. Meanwhile blaming the QB for not getting him the ball more often. Stevie Johnson anyone? No thanks...
  4. I worry about New England for a few reasons. If the Pats can go to the west coast and beat the 4-2 favored Chargers 27-24... which kind of surprised me. Mac Jones looks to be the best QB out of last years draft class by far. They have a stud at RB in Damien Harris. They have a top 10 defense. Top 10 offense in points, 15 in yards. Lastly, if Buffalo can play that poorly on offense against the 32nd ranked defense in Miami... They should have thumped the Titans who have a 20th ranked defense. With all the talent Buffalo has on offense with Diggs, Sanders, Beasley, Davis. Even against 7 DB's one of those guys should be seeing single coverage. Not only that, did Diggs suddenly fall off the earth in not being able to out juke any DB this year? Like he did all last year? Plus, Beasley usually always finds a way to get open and he wasn't even seeing the ball in a bunch of games. Is the Bills offensive line so bad now that Josh simply doesn't have the time he had last season? Play calling in the first half of the Miami game and others... The Buffalo offense has me more concerned. They shouldn't have lost to Pittsburgh or Tennessee.
  5. Trade for Wyatt Teller... oh wait. The line is a big problem... talent... coaching and talent evaluation. Second and third round picks might work if you know what you are looking at.
  6. perhaps McD needs to give Daboll a few weeks off to mourn or something...cus he stinks today. Did I mention that this is against the 32nd ranked defense?
  7. nothing like playing like crap against the 32nd ranked defense in the NFL...
  8. Welp, the Bills defense isn't winning this game for them. The offense needs to come alive. Daboll...
  9. First of all...there was nobody on the Buffalo Bills staff in 2017 or on most of the NFL staffs that identified Patrick Mahones as the QB we have seen in the NFL the last few seasons. No other QB that has come out of that "Texas Tech Air Raid" offense that has developed into anything near what we see in Mahomes. Andy Reid had the talent to develop that QB. And he saw the talent and sat Mahomes for an entire season so he could sit and learn the scheme. That 2017 KC team was an already playoff team going 10-6 and had been so since 2013. Kareem Hunt, Travis Kelce, Tyreek Hill all already there. Mahomes in Buffalo in 2017 would have been a train wreck...would Mahomes have sat behind Tyrod or start? Bills starting receivers, WR Kelvin Benjamin, WR Deonte Thompson, TE Charles Clay... Would the soon to be fired Bills OC Rick Dennison know how to develop Mahomes... I have no idea why some Bills fans are STILL lamenting not drafting Mahomes. The Buffalo Bills have the perfect player at QB for them! Big, tall, strongest arm, big hands...played at Wyoming, so no stranger to throw in the snow. Most Buffalo Bills fans now have an ongoing love affair with a young man named Josh Allen. https://www.nfl.com/news/2017-nfl-draft-deshone-kizer-mitch-trubisky-top-qb-prospects-0ap3000000787378 Weaknesses: Despite his ridiculous production as a starter for two-plus years at Texas Tech, Mahomes is still viewed as a questionable quarterback prospect due to the pass-happy approach employed by the Red Raiders. As mentioned above, the Air Raid system rarely produces effective NFL products, and Mahomes' inexperience running a traditional offense could stunt his growth at the next level. In addition, Mahomes' sloppy footwork and mechanics will need to be retooled before he can become a more accurate passer from the pocket. Sure, he was able to overcome his shoddy technique as a collegian, but NFL defenders will make him pay for his errant tosses by snagging picks off tips or overthrows. Given the impact of turnovers on the outcome of NFL games, Mahomes' sloppy footwork must be addressed to help him play winning football at the position.
  10. To the OP....go back in time and ask KC if home field meant anything... Back in the 90's Marty S was so upset that the road to the SB went thru Buffalo that he wanted the AFC Championship game played at a neutral site. He didn't get his way 😄 That #1 seed with homefield is everything IMO...extra week off to rest and get healthy. Opposing teams hate playing in Buffalo in front of all those crazed Bills fans. Miami @Jacksonville @ Jets Colts @ Saints Patriots @ Bucs Panthers @Patriots Falcons Jets The Ravens have yet to play Cleveland, Cincy, Pitt 2x each...plus GB and LA Rams
  11. That's the NE playbook all day long. Simply move the chains till the red zone and punch it in. Going deep against that defense is sorta exactly what Buffalo did to KC in taking away their deep game and making them work the short stuff...they had a tough time with that! The thing is...the Bills are so geared player wise to do just that. Who got greedy...?
  12. Good stuff Virgil. I agree and couldn't have said it better! Pisses me off too...this Titans team lost to the NY Jets! One word...overconfidence! It seemed like everyone was saying the Bills would win and it was just by how much. The Bills defense was so hell bent on stopping Henry that they forgot how to pass rush. Yet, they still couldn't stop Henry! Both Buffalo Bills lines simply aren't good enough and neither is the coaching. Buffalo played into their strengths as they tend to do on occasion. The Titans have the 24th ranked overall defense. This loss might have just lost Buffalo the home field advantage to the 5-1 Ravens. Against a Titans team Buffalo should have beaten like the Cardinals beat them in week one, 38-13.
  13. Not with that arm of his... The reason most colleges turned him down were because after high school he was 6'2'' 180 LB scrawny kid. Josh wasn't a 5 star recruit out of high school like the others in that draft. I don't know that Wyoming was the "best fit" as it was the only fit. Out of over a thousand emails Josh sent out to colleges all over the country only Wyoming and Eastern Michigan wanted to meet with him. After the latter found out he was taking to the former... they rescinded their offer. On another note. I kinda side with LAR. I consider both Jim Kelly and Dan Marino winners as they won AFC championships to get to the SB. Besides, Hall of Famers are winners in my book.
  14. A Buffalo Bill...!!! I can recall that 2018 draft with Cleveland with picks 1 & 4... the NY Giants at #2... the NY Jets at #3... Denver at #5... Indy Colts at #6. Baker Mayfield Saquon Barkley Sam Darnold Denzel Ward Bradly Chubb Quenton Nelson Just so happy the Bills took a gamble on an unknown kid from Wyoming! Not USC, not UCLA, not Louisville...Wyoming!
  15. Really enjoy reading threads like this and agree with a lot of it. The Bills O line is going up against a team with four first rounders on their D line in Washington. Hope Daboll works a game plan to get the Ball out quicker and not get Josh killed this week. Beas needs to see the ball a whole lot more often.
  16. I agree Besides, the Bills just faced two very good defenses. Defenses have caught up to what Buffalo have been doing on offense and countering it. There are also other considerations. The league allowed more holding by the lines last season in my view... that they aren't allowing this year. Brian Daboll and his game plans haven't been as good since last seasons Miami game. The Colts, Ravens playoff games. The Bills offense scored only 10 points against the Ravens all game and for whatever reason Baltimore chose not to blitz like they had in past games. The Chiefs drew up a game plan in last seasons AFC Championship game to counter the Bills offense and Pittsburgh simply followed suit. Then you have the Bills starters only played together for 2 quarters all preseason. Allen is targeting Sanders a lot in each game and he simply isn't catching everything like Brown used to do. 8 targets, 4 receptions. 6 targets, 2 receptions. Sanders saw 77% of the snaps in the Miami game and Beas only saw 60%. Diggs 78%. The Bills have two games to get it together in facing Washington and Houston. Then they face KC & Tenn. Hopefully it's just the offense now showing everything it has before those big games. All this QB under a microscope stuff is lame IMHO.
  17. Highest rate of pressure allowed on pass plays this season... Dolphins 55% Jets 52% Saints 46% Bills 44% Lions 43% From PFF Defensive rankings, 10. Miami Dolphins, (LW: 8th) All things considered, the Miami Dolphins did a nice job against the Buffalo Bills’ offense. Miami’s secondary limited Josh Allen to 179 passing yards on 33 attempts and Stefon Diggs was contained by Xavien Howard. But the defense got tired, allowing 14 fourth-quarter points, resulting in a 35-0 finish. 8. Buffalo Bills (LW: 15) The Buffalo Bills defense is largely responsible for the shutout victory over the Miami Dolphins. Buffalo pressured Miami’s quarterbacks on 33-of-57 dropbacks, a stunning 57.9% pressure rate. Everyone made an impact in Week 2, but rookie Greg Rousseau (two sacks) is the real defensive MVP. Once the Bills’ offense figures things out, the AFC is up for grabs. https://sportsnaut.com/nfl-defense-rankings/ Washington #6 Pittsburgh #4 Patriots #3 Bucs #2
  18. Good stuff as usual Virgil. It was good to see the Bills win a game with Josh Allen NOT needing to attempt to carry the game. The defense played great from the very start and kept it up all game. They carried this game. 33 passes, 30 runs was a better balance. Interesting... Miami caught more passes and and had more passing yards. Let's not forget that the Miami defense has a very good secondary with two of the highest paid corners in the league. Opposing teams have had all offseason to figure out Buffalo's offensive passing scheme and defenses have caught up. They all watched that 2020 AFC championship game in which the Chiefs only rushed four and dropped more into coverage. We can expect more difficulty in Buffalo passing the ball until Daboll can work some magic with the offense. Getting that run game working with some scripted runs/short throws to start the game might help. I have faith the Bills offense will start clicking soon. Would like to see Beas with more targets, 4 targets, 4 catches!! Same with Kumerow to see more targets...one target for Jake doesn't cut it.
  19. "Davis is dealing with a lower body injury." https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/09/15/gabriel-davis-out-of-practice-for-bills/
  20. My take is Daboll has complete control of the offense and he is hell bent of making that Buffalo passing game work... no matter what. He wants to see Josh Allen MVP as he sees it as a feather in his cap. He wants the Bills to be an all out passing team with no need for the run game besides being a distraction at times. I kind of get the impression that the Chargers didn't offer him enough money, control or both as HC. I don't know if the "league" has figured out Daboll. However, I do know the Chiefs and Steelers have. It really will be a long season for Bills fans if the other teams have caught on. We will see Sunday as the 1-0 Miami Dolphins should be fielding a decent defense.
  21. Which is something that Brian Daboll has failed to do since last seasons Miami game. The Buffalo offense just hasn't been as innovative or explosive as it was prior to the playoffs in 2020. The Bills run the ball 38 times against the Patriots in their first meeting and the next week confound the Seahawks the next week by heaving it all over. I don't mind the Bills passing 30-40 times a game if it is working...30 of 51 pass attempts for 270 yards and yet the Bills only scored 16 points all game against Pittsburgh. Bills WR Jake Kumerow saw only 3 snaps all game, at 6'4'' you would think he would make a perfect red zone target. The New England offense is supposed to make first downs over and over till the red zone and then punch it in. Forget the big play if it isn't working and just move the chains, get into a rhythm. Putting the game entirely on the QB's doesn't always work and when that plan doesn't work. Have a game plan besides 51 pass attempts.
  22. It is a bit disturbing that the Bills got this one so wrong. That and they still have faith in the players on the roster that can't seem to get it done. The Bills need to hire someone who can actually evaluate talent at the OG position.
  23. On a different note...its just one game out of 17. Just think, we could be the Green Bay Packers... who benched last seasons MVP in the 4th and lost to the NO Saints 38-3.🤪
  24. First off, the Steelers have a top 5 defense and were #3 overall last season. They had time all offseason to dissect the Buffalo offense. The Steelers also looked a lot like the Chiefs in shutting down the Buffalo passing game. This season might be in trouble if the offense continues with this one dimensional offensive game plan. The passing game isn't working...no plan B...just keep throwing 51 times? Where was the innovation in the passing game? It's games like this that make me yearn for the Bills to build a power running attack to compliment that awesome passing attack (when it works) that can help take the game off the QB shoulders. Does Buffalo need two pro bowl offensive guards? Or can they go with who they have on the line and simply run the ball more often? Penalties 8-81...drive killers. Will it be a long season...
  25. Good stuff Virgil Perhaps not playing the starters enough in preseason hurt their performance for the opener...who knows. Just like against KC in last years championship game...the Buffalo offensive line simply wasn't good enough in the game to protect Allen. Think back to the 2020 season and when Allen had time in the pocket he did whatever he wanted game after game and the results were great things in the passing game. Singletary 11 carries for 72 yards, a 6.5 average. Yes, one 25 yard run. Josh Allen, 30 of 51 for 270 yards. Allen 9 rushes for 44 yards. 51 pass attempts... That 2020 Pittsburgh defense was #3 overall and they showed up big this season again against the pass. They were #3 in passing attempts and passing yards allowed all that year. #12th in rush attempts and 11th in rush yards allowed. My biggest fear going into this game was that Steelers RB Najee Harris (6'1 232 lbs) was going to run all over Buffalo for big yards, he didn't! 16 carries for 45 yards, 2.8 YPC avg. The Buffalo defense showed up today. Special teams had a huge breakdown. No argument from me here. Where was Jake Kumerow? Someone still on vacation after that 2020 Miami game? On another note, As good as that Green Bay Packers offense was supposed to be this season. Aaron Rodgers was shown the bench in a 38-3 loss in NO. The Bills play that Saints team week 12.
