  1. The way Cam Newton is throwing the ball these days just looks so weird to me. It really jumped off the screen when we played the Pats this past season and he's still doing it on that video, think his motion has changed since his Panthers days. It just looks like he's snapping his wrist and holding onto the ball a half second too long in my very non-expert opinion. Not related, but #50 is a super weird number for a QB even if it's just for practice...was that Mac Jones?
  2. Looking forward to getting Star back and improving the run defense. Important to manage expectations and remember that 2019 Star was an average to slightly above average 1-Tech in the league, but it's his knock on effect on the play of Ed Oliver, Tremaine Edmunds, and Matt Milano that's got me amped up. Oliver matched up one-on-one against a guard and Edmunds and Milano running free all day.
  3. Remember this making the rounds when we drafted Tre...love that dude. Also wonder who #2 on LSU is and whether or not he's in the NFL...he's the lead blocker out in front of Tre once he's headed downfield with only the punter to beat and #2 doesn't even get a hand on him/punter nearly makes the tackle. Yikes!
  4. Agree with everything you said especially the last part...I don't think EJ's ceiling was particularly high and he wasn't a franchise QB, but he seemed like a good kid who was willing to work hard and had most of the physical tools you would want. In a parallel universe, I think he could have been one of the more reasonable back up QBs in the league and it's hard to believe that guys like Nate Peterman have a job over him.
  5. My initial reaction is that I'm glad he's not in our division or on KC/Baltimore. Tennessee needed playmakers after losing Jonnu Smith and Corey Davis among others so this makes sense for them. Just wish he would have gone to the NFC (maybe Green Bay with the Rodgers situation??), but alas dealing him to the AFC is better for Atlanta.
  6. Still hoping that we can sign Steven Nelson...really solid player who fits what we want to do on defense, would solidify our CB room, and still has his best football in front of him at 28. I like Levi too, but you can't have too many talented CBs.
  7. Next man up just like on the field! Like that Beane promotes from within and will continue to develop more front office talent. We'll likely lose a lot more of these guys in the coming years if we continue to be a contender and we'll need the depth.
  8. 100%. Our secondary caught most of the blame for the Hail Murray play last season, but Addison dove and missed Kyler which gave him the time to set and launch the ball downfield. Substitute Rousseau's length, long strides, and ability to keep contain on that play and maybe we win that game. ...Reading the rest of the thread, can see you and @Boxcar beat me to this point already. Great minds think alike!
  9. I'm likely higher on the addition of Matt Breida than most, but his elite speed should force defenses to respect the possibility of off-tackle runs unlike last season where they could cheat inside. Hoping he can stay healthy and get a handful of snaps each game.
  10. Being really excited when the Bills traded up for Sammy Watkins. Thought he was going to put our offense over the top and give Manuel a chance to grow/improve. Gross... Outstanding topic btw!
  11. My list is James Wiggins, Khyiris Tonga, Trill Williams, Josh Imatorbhebhe, Charles Snowden, Sadarius Hutcherson, Tommy Kraemer, Marvin Wilson, Trevon Grimes, Shaun Beyer, Tamorrion Terry, Mark Gilbert, Robert Jones, Quentin Morris, and Tony Poljan.
  12. Jack Anderson is a great fit for our zone blocking scheme. RAS of 8.58, team captain, and three year starter at RG. Good mobility and plays with heavy hands. Needs to clean up his footwork and balance.
  13. Damar Hamlin is a converted CB who was a three year starter at free safety for Pitt. Was a team captain and led the team in passes defended in 2020. Has a RAS of 6.98 and is described as a very coachable player with a high football IQ. Can be overaggressive and miss tackles and has average length. Rashad Wildgoose is a three year starter at Wisconsin who got snaps inside and outside mostly in zone coverage. Has a RAS of 7.2 and has NFL-caliber speed, burst, and aggression. Needs some patience and development to work on his tackling and instincts.
  14. Wiggins and either Trey Smith or Marvin Wilson/Khyiris Tonga possibly?
  15. Marquez Stevenson has 4.45 speed and a 6.46 Three Cone which is elite. Has an RAS of 5.39 and has 3 career KR TDs. Needs to add strength and develop as a route runner, but a pick I can be excited about. A Day 1 kick returner as he improves as a receiver.
  16. Top freak athletes left and their RAS (excluding QBs, OT, and EDGE): Trey Smith G Tennessee (9.91) Sadarius Hutcherson G South Carolina (9.89) Chris Evans RB Michigan (9.85) Tyler Coyle S Purdue (9.83) James Wiggins S Cincinnati (9.70) Elijah Mitchell RB Louisiana (9.51) Brandon Smith WR Iowa (9.16) Tim Jones WR Southern Miss (9.03) Jimmy Morrissey C Pittsburgh (9.01) Tre Nixon WR UCF (8.98) Josh Imatorbhebhe WR Illinois (8.97)
  17. I believe so, but NFL Network still has it listed as Houston on its ticker. Same with the later pick
  18. 19. Simi Fehoko might have been cool (he's the huge athletic freak left that would have been very on brand for us!) but I still really like Shi Smith. Hopefully we have another shot!
  20. ...which is why good teams/organizations don't trade up to a given spot targeting a player with a full ten picks to go. So weird!
  21. Yeah great to see. Like other posters have mentioned, we didn't lose often last season, but when we did, it was usually because we were out-matched physically especially on the line of scrimmage. This draft appears to be trying to correct that issue and I like that all of these are great athletes with huge untapped potential.
  22. Doyle is another raw tackle prospect similar to Spencer Brown. Former prep hockey player. Also 6'8" with another legendary RAS. They are really just going BPA and hey if all or most these picks hit, we are getting cheap labor at the most expensive positions outside of QB.
  23. Ok we are on deck...means either Shi Smith or Tedarrell Slaton will definitely be there for us. Happy with either pick.
