  2. GASP!! There are more of them!! Are they from the IRS or the Forestry Service or the BLM or the DoH?
  3. The negative plays from Spiller is why I am starting to wonder what his future here is. Negative or zero yards on a regular basis means that long drives are killed. Spiller getting 8 yards running the ball on a 3rd and 10 doesn't do it. Spiller turning a 2nd & 8 into a 3rd and 7 doesn't do it. ======================================================================================================================= I think you know more football than that. . http://www.buffaloru...h-buffalo-bills One reason he was brought is because Spiller can not pound the rock in a short yardage situation. Wouldn't it nice to have a 3 down running back who could run inside with authority as well as get to the edge? I don't think it is a good plan to have one dimension on running plays- the more options, the better and the more play action works.
  4. Okay. Often homers believe that two contradictory things can be true at the same time. Spiller hasn't been injury prone. AND Spiller didn't do good last year because he was injured. What is true is that the smaller fast shifty guys are going to get nailed a lot. They are putting stress on their legs by shifting direction and if they get hit at those times, then the extra force is going to snap something. They also don't have the time to gather themselves up for protection before getting hit. I can think of 40 million good reasons why Spiller could be had for the right price. I was thinking that Stevie was not a #1 receiver and with Fritz gone, would decline further in production---BUT that OBD would never have the cohones and sense to reset their personnel to their plans and trade him for something. They did. Might they do the same with Spiller and get a $30M cheaper back who would be a better fit with a power running, vertical passing, ball control offense? Its possible. Sorry of broaching the topic upset you.
  5. Are there any 275 pound defensive ends out there?
  6. Who f'in cares except liberal newswriters who are looking for a lazy way to fill their copy. If he keeps his affections out of the locker room, who cares. If he doesn't, then his harrassment will get him run out of there, just the same as if he was intruding on others in any other fashion that is unacceptable.
  7. Doesn't anyone out there have anything to say about how Spiller's skill set fits in with the Bills loading up on deep pattern wide receivers and big road-grading offensive linemen? Can you sense the disconnect with having a guy whose promise is a lot of zero gains plays, trying to get him into open space (to use his speed and high speed shiftyness)....and drafting big play WR, and steam roller offensive linemen (check own many in this draft). With Spiller, you run a lot of running plays and types of screen passes to try to get him into breaking a long gain, once or twice a game. Didn't work. (check the Bills W/L record on this). You get a lot of 2nd and 10 and 3rd and 7's, which leads to 3 and outs and a tired defense. .....Sorry, we are going for a 5 yards and a cloud of dust and bruised and tired defense for the other side, along with continual deep threats and nobody in the box defensive sets. That is the plan. Spiller doesn't fit. Smell the coffee.
  8. Hey, put them in order of your choice and then many will come back for a discussion.
  9. What does technically speaking mean? We invest emotional and with money into the teams. The NFL has injury reporting rules for fairness within the league. When somebody becomes an employee of a monopoly, the monopoly aspect (a concession from the government) changes the rules on a right to privacy. If you don't like it as a player, then sell your services as a football player elsewhere.
  10. I liked Chan. What was his record here. Oh, I thought so.
  11. Didn't Cyrus Kouandjio play a full year with this injury? Why is it a question?"
  12. +1 I drink too much. While visiting King Ibn Saud of Saudi Arabia, Winston was informed he could neither smoke nor drink, for religious reasons, during a banquet thrown in his honor. Winston wasn’t having any. He informed the monarch that, “My religion prescribed as an absolute sacred ritual smoking cigars and drinking alcohol before, after and if need be during all meals and the intervals between them.”
  13. The fans have the right to a reasonable about of info about the problem. The player has some right to privacy- but people have to realize that he is in show business.
  14. The compensation is for LOST free agents! Not for trades.
  15. Yes. But don't we need fast linebackers for coverage?
  16. I'm worried about depth at defensive end.
  17. http://nfltraderumor...tay-in-buffalo/ Oh great. So he is getting advise from Jairus Byrd for his final year under a contract with the Bills...... =============================================================================== Bills-Titans talks cloud C.J. Spiller's future http://espn.go.com/b...spillers-future Yes, I was disappointed in Spillers ability to keep moving the chains last year. 6-10 was our record. How well does a fast scatback fit in with very large and slower linemen? Just before the AFC NFL merger, the KC Chiefs ran successfully with giant o-linemen and little "smurf" running backs who were invisible behind those big guys. Or would you want bigger bruising running backs to follow the big linemen clearing the way?
  18. Marrone played and coached what position for most of his life? 3 big offensive linemen. WOW. I have always liked big uglies.
  19. That is along the lines of what I am thinking. The team seems to be going in the direction of a power running game and more vertical passing game, rather than feeding the ball to a fast scatback and a tricky assortment of short passing and screens. (Chan is no longer the coach). Spiller is not a the best fit for this and there are cheaper running backs. Reflect that the Fritz/Chan/Stevie Johnson days are gone. Our #1 wide receiver is now a classic downfield guy and not the clever short pass partner with Fitz. They shipped Stevie and that was unthinkable a month ago. Will Spiller be worth $40M in the new system? Marrone is not a captive of our past and is showing a characteristic of doing what he needs to do to take the team in the direction of his vision.
  20. 6-10 baby!! A thousand yard rusher, if you count yards parallel to the line of scrimmage. Teams fear him. (sic). 15th in yards rushing. 11th in yard per carry.
  21. Okay, we have Whaley putting the team together. And are starting Wide receivers are going to be the 3 double-U's Wood, Williams and Watkins. ....and damn near everyone on the team is named Williams. Is this connected to those black heliocopters in my backyard?
  22. http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2014/5/10/5703732/bryce-brown-traded-to-buffalo-bills-from-philadelphia-eagles l." Okay, Spiller hasn't really done that much here and the team is going in another direction. Is it take to work out a trade & new contract for Spiller and transition to the new era? Better to get something for him- maybe that 1st round pick back again?
  23. I went to an Orioles game last night and called up the wife during the 3rd inning to ask who the Bills drafted in the 2nd round. She thought she was supposed to have a night off and wondered if I really thought that she was really supposed to stay by the television and watch the draft for me. I answered that of course that is what I expected her to do. She thinks I was kidding.
  24. Opps, they went for the Duke DB that they also brought in for a visit. And in the fourth round!! Their mistake. The fish took him with the 25th pick in the round.
  25. and here I thought we were going to take Walt Aikens from Liberty in the 5th round..........
