  1. If the price is right, I think we move up to get Williams. If not and he's on the board, we take Oliver at 9. If neither, I think we are moving down.
  2. 3 QBs go top 8. We get one of Quinnen Williams or Josh Allen at 9.
  3. Cue the Joker "And here we go!" I've felt like things have been too cool on these QBs. Teams without them get silly. Watch 3 (maybe 4) be gone by the time we pick.
  4. Only slightly. I'm ready for things to get silly on Thursday. Murray goes 1, Bengals trade up to 3 for Haskins, Lock goes 4, Jones goes 6. We are looking at one of Quinnen Williams or Josh Allen at 9. (a guy can dream)
  5. Murray - Cardinals Haskins - Bengals Lock - Raiders Jones - Giants Rosen - Redskins
  6. Only thing that bothers me about the draft is when I'm pounding the table, begging for a guy to be the pick, then the pick comes in and it's somewhere off the reservation only to see Baltimore (it's somehow always Baltimore) end up with the guy I really wanted. But the current regime seems to be better about the whole "drafting guys half a round early" we've seen for so long.
  7. With the 22nd pick in the draft the Tampa Bucs select Josh Jacobs, RB, Bama From Jameis to Jason Licht, everyone is feeling the heat in Tampa. Arians didn’t come back to oversee a rebuild. Bucs make an aggressive move up to address what’s been one of the worst backfields in the league for several years. @GunnerBill and the Texans are on the clock.
  8. Oh I completely agree. That's why I've been on team "trade up" for a while now. If EVERYONE wants to trade back, the "moneyball" move says the value is in moving up. 9 feels like "no mans land", getting the same caliber player you'd get at ~15 but the guys in the top tier will be off the board. I understand a team can always benefit from having more good players on rookie deals, but we are in a cap position for the next several years where needs can be filled easily in the market and we need to add as many young blue chip players as possible.
  9. A "franchise" LT is also on the field for every play. I've waffled all over on Hock. Like I said, I love the position and am ready for a clear cut, top half of the league starter there. But the 9th pick just feels too rich. A guy like Jonah Williams or Andre Dillard being the next "Joe Staley" just has more value than a guy like Hock being the next "Jason Witten".
  10. I certainly understand the desire for a quality TE. Personally I love the position and what a really good one can unlock on the field and it's been far too long since we've had one. My concern with Hock is many seem to be expecting Gronk 2.0. I don't think that's the case, or even at the level of guys like Ertz / Kelce / Kittle. Feels to me to be the "Kyle Williams" of TEs, always recognized as a very good player by football heads but not ever anyone that stands out as a difference maker that must be on the defensive game plan or on the short list of the best at the position from the common fan. If your expectation is he's a high quality starter at the position who'll fit right in on a blue collar team and you are fine taking that at 9, that's fine. But if you've talked yourself into the next Gronk or immediately at the level of the current triumvirate at the top of the position, you need to tap the brakes.
  11. I think everyone has said they want to trade down at every pick. At this point we need people who want to move up to start reaching out to people or we'll never get through 3 rounds in 3.5 days.
  12. I understand wanting different results. But Hock is clear BPA IMO.
  13. I was equally split between Oliver and White, ultimately I decided it was more important to add pass rush, taking a LB at 5 when a guy who can get after the QB was still on the board did not feel like the right move.
  14. Define "most drafts". I think with the exception of 2015 each of the last 5 years had better talent at the top of the draft.
  15. That would be one of my favorite non-Bills scenarios in the draft. Maybe shift the conversation in CBus away from being 90% Browns with the occasional "oh yeah, the Bengals are a team in Ohio too".
  16. Cool No one saw the Browns taking Ward over Chubb. But I do enjoy how definitive you are in all your posts.
  17. The Bengals call us and offer pick #72 to go from #11 to #9. Take Haskins, Broncos take Lock at 10, Giants give us a nice package to go from 17 to 11 to get Jones. Profit.
  18. If Murray goes 1 and Oliver goes 3, that means one of Williams or Allen is on the board at 5 and Beane & Licht did the Allen trade last year.
  19. The lack of polish on Metcalf is concerning, but I will say one thing, the idea of Metcalf "Mossing" the league with Allen's arm and Brown keeping things honest on the other side is very intriguing.
  20. I have concerns about Gary (screams workout guy, production was lacking and I'm not willing to write it off on coaching, I don't care where they put you on the field, if you are surrounded by NFL talent and facing inferior opponents most weeks, you should produce) / Burns (really worry about his playing weight last year, does not seem like a guy who is going to ever set an edge) / Sweat (medical flag) / Jonah (can he be a NFL LT?) / Taylor (why did he play RT?) / Wilkins (opposite of Gary, feels like he was brought up by his supporting cast). I like White and TJ, but others have raised some valid questions about position value and already having Edmuds / Milano. I think you are too generous with your "top 10 talent" label. I think there's clear blue chip talent (Bosa, Allen, Williams, maybe Oliver, maybe White) and then you are likely to get the same caliber player at ~8 as 15, doesn't mean those guys are top 10 guys.
  21. With the way the winds are currently blowing, Oliver as high as 3, only 1 QB in the top 8, the best plan of action might be an aggressive move up to get a guy like Williams or Allen.
  22. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Ed Oliver, DT, Houston. The Bucs desperately want to move down as there are several players on the board they would be equally happy to draft, but given a lack of offers and in the best interest of keeping this thing moving, they make their pick. The team is desperate to add pass rush and the best available edge rushers (Sweat, Burns) feel like aggressive picks at this range. Other positions were considered, but they feel Oliver is a guy who can potentially move around the formation and pair with either McCoy or Vea (or all 3 on the field at the same time). Rumors have persisted about McCoy's future, but at this time the team feels he's too valuable to move on from unless an interesting offer arises. @mrags and the New York Giants are on the clock.
