What a ballerina..... He toe tapped..... Every receiver in the NFL is taught that. -

Neither were great catches. They were catches. I mentioned the Holmes catch as I knew someone would say that. Zay kept his feet in bounds and congrats that he didn't bobble the ball. He is paid to make catches like that. I'm talking a wow catch. BTW the over-turned catch the last minute vs. the Dolphins was classic Zay. He made a good play and then bobbled it and it hit the ground. Every week you see Thomas on NO, Antonio Bryant, Hill, Hopkins or Julio and countless others making great catches. Would be nice to see just one by a Bill. -

Drop after drop and have to ask the question as to has a receiver made a great catch all year? Don't say Holmes on that 77 yd td as it hit him right in the hands. I'm talking a catch where the receiver is laid out or caught it with one hand or out-muscled a DB. I think Holmes did adjust to one ball this year to make a nice catch with the DB tring to bust it up. As said before, these receivers are just awful. -
McDermott is going to cost us in a big game
Billsfan1972 replied to HomeskillitMoorman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He costs us a lot of games as his philosophy does not work in today's game. He plays for 3 point games and sucks the fun out of football. The Bills should have won by 14, but again conservative coaching, drop after drop and special teams killed them. But for those fixated on the draft, I guess this is the result you wanted. -

uh? perfect pass in stride. -
Oops meant to add that this could stunt Allen's progression in the first year. This was the whole notion that you have a veteran presence to help groom the #7 pick, not a QB you are hoping will be starter in the future (as McD I was convinced though of NP). Sure tell me I'm wrong and debate that NP was only a stop gap or short-term solution, and he wasn't being shoved down our throats. Schoop missed the point being made, which is often the case when it doesn't meet his narrative.

He is an intellectual goof, trying to lord his mental acumen over callers. Some of his comment are incoherent and not cogent, but he revels in the fact his lap dog (oops bulldog) is there shaking his head in agreement. I called in the pre-season concerned that NP starting was due to McD wanting to prove that he was right about NP and the media and fans were wrong. Schoop couldn't comprehend the basis for that argument. What it exemplifies is if one questions his train of logic you are dismissed and debate is not part of his repertoire. Sure don't anoint Allen yet, but acknowledge the game he played Sunday.

Zay Jones - Coming Around Nicely
Billsfan1972 replied to PolishPrince's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He caught the ball along the sidelines and kept his feet in bounds. Last year I remember him on an out not tapping the second foot on an easy catch and being out of bounds. Yesterday he had a good sense of the sideline and did a good job. Was it a great catch? No a good one on a great throw from the end zone on the run. -

The clock was stopped, there was plenty of time to make a call and with a time out too for a quick 5 yard completion. -

Thanks for reminding me in his rookie season he not having the ability to tap his toes. Yesterday it was a perfect pass that he caught and tapped his tows. Both TD's were perfect throws too. I'm talking making a difficult catch, adjusting where needed, getting up in the air, taking it out of the defenders hands or absorbing a hit while catching. Don't remember those. -

Should have caught that third & 11 pass at the end & also another tough catch (but catchable) ball was dropped ...... Seen so many receivers hold on or make those catches. Always 2 steps forward, 1 step back with him. I actually can 't remember a great catch he's made. -

Actually how about examples where McD used the clock well, made a good challenge and trusted the offense? -
What is Clay doing 8 yards deep in the end zone?
Billsfan1972 replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Go to the end and can see enough that there was plenty of time to adjust, no one within 20 yards and also can see 3 Bills in the back of the end zone. Also the third down pass to Zay was not PI and frankly should have too been caught. -

If that was the play call that again shows an incredible lack of foresight or coaching. -

The Bills had 2 timeouts (3 if not for the terrible challenge). They could have definitely used the clock better and getr a 2 for 1 (Basketball analogy) as they had the last possession of the first half and were getting the kick to start the second half. This is all about seeing what you have in Allen and figuring it out. Playing for 14-10 games with Allen is a waste of time. Now the 4th & two at midfield. A good coach either has a play and does a quick snap and looks like they are 100% committed or runs the play. You are trying to get the other team to jump or burn a TO. Everyone know McD isn't doing anything. -

Regardless, good coaching has receivers coming back to the QB on "busted plays/scrambles". No excuse for 3 receivers standing at the back of the end zone. -

And if caught today the Playoff questions would be where all the posts are. BTW what's wrong with Allen's arm that he couldn't throw cross his body 60 yards???? -

Billsfan1972 replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He threw it as far as he could. Think about a receiver running running 80 yards downfield and waving his hands that he's open..... That's exactly how stoopid I envision Clay.... -
Geez give your QB a shot. Actually 3 players were in the back, but when a qb is scrambling & not the last play of the game, you work your way back. The ball was in the air 3 second & Clay was incapable of moving 7 yards to catch the ball (wide open). As an earlier poster said that was a 60 yard throw by Allen. Sorry was not ready to read through the 10 pages on whether it was a drop or not. A real receiver easily catches it as he is moving back to be part of the play. BTW what were 3 Bills doing in the end zone on third & 11???

Please let me know which penalties called on the Bills were bad?
-
I thought the Bills again were undisciplined. Refs are to protect the QB and while none were blatant have seen them called. Miami too had a # of penalties a well. The problem is, you watch NE and you know they'll be some ticky-tack call that goes in theior favour and thus when the Bills don't get it, fans are left bewildered. Was it as terrible as those on the board think? No, but not great.

Bang on..... 17 points and the Bills moving the ball shows the issues that we'll see over and over. Great first 20 minutes vs. Min & NYJ and otherwise a slog every other game. Does it really have to be that way?
