  1. It was tongue in cheek and a reference to a # of QB's who have toiled in anonymity for years as a back-up and actually make good money and seldom see the field. As a fifth round pick if he was as luck as Tyrod (who I do like), he'd have learned for 4 yards, seldom seen trhe field, earned decent money and then get an opportunity and maybe better results. Conversely we have Dak Prescott who had a great situation, an offense that when he first played masked his flaws and shorcomings and he looked like a banafide competent QB. Now when he is asked to throw and lead the Cowboys it is a different story.
  2. And probably millions of dollars by playing him and making him a whipping boy/punchline. Looking at the list of NFL back-ups and third-stringers, NP could well have been a very competent back-up QB and one of the greatest pre-season practise players of all-time. Four years as a back-up with almost no NFL playing time and yes maybe he would have learned, watched and then was given an opportunity much more mature and capable. Maybe he would have succeeded. Look at his predecessor Tyrod Taylor. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/T/TaylTy00.htm Very simply I feel somewhat sorry for Peterman and blame McD for creating this sham that all started with him and his dismantling of the O in 2017 and the terrible offensive coaching and playcalling. They are to blame for putting Peterman in when he wasn't ready and not giving him the tools (players and schemes) to succeed and ruining what as said could have been a nice career as a buck-up.
  3. If true, then Allen has to start. Sounds like the pre-season all over again........
  4. Take out those majical 50 minutes (second half vs. LAC & first 20 minutes vs. Minny) where the bills scored 41 points and were +38 point differential it would really be scary.......
  5. No 90% of us rubes would much rather see a 35-31 win as opposed to a 13-10 one........ Probably the same people who hate the 3-point shot in basketball and are enthralled by those 89-84 NBA games where not necessarily great defense but shots missed. Memphis Grizzlie fans who were okay with those scores when they won 50 gm/yr, but not losing 50/gm......
  6. Sorry I can't get past what they did to the offense and not understanding how you win in the NFL today. They keep hoping that all they need is to win the battle of field position, get turnovers and grind out 13-10 games is the key to success. 2017 they took an okay offense (though I hated their passing game) and turned it into a disaster. And they did what they could in the offseason to make it even worse. They get blown out way too often and even in their wins not fun to watch. They played 20 minutes of good football vs. Minny and that was it. The defense is good, but more in a bend don't break way and this goes back to 2017. That only works for so long.
  7. Exactly...... How a team that is not better then 9-7 (and that was all of 2 years in the last 10 or so) could be in cap hell and fiction...... Again how are almost all top-tier WR's retained by their teams, but the Bills, is unfathomable. News alert almost all top WR's are Prima Donnas and expect the cash and to be thrown the ball.
  8. We do have this website!!!! C'mon if Peterman starts and the score in 40-3 NYJ wouldn't be a bad thing would it?
  9. Again I don't want to wait that long, have waited plenty long enough........
  10. And based on their body of work wrt the Offense, I have very little trust in them. Maybe the best case scenario is NP starts Sunday and they get anihilated by McCown & the Jets, McD fired and they reset over the bye week. I will concede that the trades in the 2017 pre-season & handling of the Offense & NP have clouded my judgement, and they need to prove a lot to me.
  11. And he got concussed and thus Mayfield came in, produced and we'll see the results. At least Cleveland had a plan and a QB. The Bills had Peterman. BTW Clevelend as we all know Fired both their HC & OC.
  12. Yes I did re-evaluate and probably was quick on the trigger...... But Wilson height was a definite concern.
  13. I want Allen to do well as the Bills invested a lot in him. The other #1's to date like Allen have been a little bit of a mixed bag. The issue is this coaching staff and their idiocy in ignoring the offensive side of the ball and their continual trotting out of NP and blind support of him. That is why I started the thread to show the stupidity of the entire Process and how they approached the QB position.
  14. Keep drinking the Kool aid those defending McD. Doublespeak and talking out of both sides of your mouth is a long lost art.
  15. Look whether Allen becomes the franchise QB or not remains to be seen. As the #7 pick he needs the opportunity to crash and burn on his own. The point is it was done and now the Bills need to see what they got. The list contains a lot of top 10 failures. The point however is what were the Bills Braintrust thinking giving the keys to the car to a 5th round rookie? Oh and who will forget all those defending the decision before the LAC game (and many still today) looking at the results and the list attached. At least I was consistant from the day he was named the starter vs. LAC.......
  16. Look closely at the list and after the second round I recognize almost no names. Two caught lightning in a bottle...... Russel Wilson (dropped significantly due to his height and skin colour) and Prescott (again skin colour) who had everything fall into place year one and we slowly are seeing his true colours.......
  17. http://www.nfl.com/draft/history/fulldraft?type=position Interesting to see all that were taken and how many stick. Sorry but again just makes me shake my head in disbelief that this clown McDermott thinking Peterman was ready to start vs. LAC and no viable plan for 2018 and again named the starter. Again nothing against NP, but look at the list and how many (and the number of much higher picks) that never sniffed anything close to the opportunity NP has been given over and over......
  18. Remember that one and it seems so long ago that he played. I liked glimpses he gave the Bills, but been a tough year.
  19. I had to go back and doublecheck that pre-season game in 2017 vs. Minn....... The 2-3 Drives TT had he threw to Watkins 5 times (4 catches) and they did exactly what I was clamoring and excited looking forward to during the season, a concerted effort to get the ball to your #1 receiver...... 3 days later (or was it 2) he was traded. What is also amazing is seeing how much Peterman played in the 2017 pre-season and he beat out TJ Yates as the back-up. Obviously he was annointed when he was drafted..... Thanks McD........
  20. Been going for years and he claims it is a tradition. Would be a December game in any case.
  21. So we have common ground...... DOn't disagree with you, I just hated the way it was done and with no plan. Now if they traded Watkins before the 2017 draft for a #1, yep still would have been upset, but that players would have been on the field in 2017. I argued (and not incorrectly) that the offense was hijacked & undermined...... Remember the pre-season game with Watkins & TT...... He threw him passes and targets in their game and I thought the light went on. Didn't know they were showcasing him......
  22. I'm in my 50's...... I like tailgating, but much rather do it in 70 degree weather then shivering and battling traffic. Oh and would like to see a watchable football game too.....
  23. Again the point is simply they have let it play out and this culture/process crap is bullcrap..... I want to be entertained and waiting year after year is unacceptable. Add to that the offensive sid has been so neglected....... Sure Sammy may too have put up pedestrian #'s in 2017, however I would have liked to have seen them as a member of the Bills.
  24. Give me a compelling argument. I come down 2X's/yr on average and of my group am the only "fan" watching the Bills religiously and on sites like this. Yes it means a 3 hour drive with the border to cross and my friend states it is a tradition. I told him there is no way I am wasting 12 hours on Sunday (3 infront of the TV is plenty) to watch this team. It is not the losing, it is fielding a product that has been so unwatchable on Offense and absolutely no fun. When was the last fun game they played? Not talking blowing out Minny (boring as heck after the first 20 minutes) or Arizona or Oakland where the Bills actrually won by double digits. Maybe the OT loss to Miami Xmas 2016 (and they gave that one away)? I guess if Allen is back this week or after the bye and plays well, but otherwise ss there a reason to pay money and support the Bills as they are right now?
