  1. It's something McD preached and practiced all offseason. With the D constantly harassing the O, I'm sure it helps them focus on ball protection too. Good coaching.
  2. Hmmm, personally the kickoff coverage has me a little worried. All else looks solid.
  3. I don't take the Jets game lightly, but after seeing Wright and Elston step up, I hope they let these two get healthy and ready for the gauntlet of Brees, Rivers, Smith, and Brady that follows Thursday game.
  4. This is a smart, well-coached team. It's been a long time since we could say that...
  5. kudos to Wright, he was the main reason I didn't think the Bills would win today.
  6. his contract is very reasonable for a top 10 LT, $12-13 million in 2019 and 2020. Not signing Gilmore, trading Sammy and Darius has the cap under control, so you are spot on.
  7. The O-line has played better with Glenn back, so he deserves some recognition.
  8. a little premature on this...
  9. The D stepped up today and is defending the dirt.
  10. My sentiments exactly.
  11. there are a lot of variables that one can use to argue for/against as a good/bad move. Dareus is a great player in a scheme that allows him to do what he wants to do. In McDs scheme, its not worth paying the money for someone whos role is to eat up two blockers. Add on the long term salary drag, and it makes a lot of sense. Given the scheme, Dareus contribution is marginal, as it shows in the stats. Im sure he will flourish with the Jags though.
  12. Color me impressed that Beane was able to fix the cap within six months. I for one don't think they will move Glenn, as he will be a very reasonably-priced LT over the last couple years of his contract. He will probably need to do something about Clay's contract though.
  13. One of the worst GM's in history has taken the Bills out of salary cap purgatory and he hasn't even been here a year yet. Nice job beanie boy! Losing all of these "great players" and McD has them playing at a playoff level. The future looks bright...
  14. They struggle when they've had to play without Gaines.
  15. Thoughts and prayers for he and his family.
  16. they were a lousy team until last year, so thos stats are kind of meaningless. All I'm saying is this will be another close game, especially if Poyer and Gaines aren't able to play.
  17. they just beat a team many think is the best in the AFC, and they have extra days to rest and prepare. This will be another nail biter.
  18. no, I certainly never said that. Taxes are necessary to transfer resource claims from private sector to public. The government can't spend $3 trillion without reducing private claims, otherwise it's inflationary. Excess spending over taxes is a different story. You don't seem to understand the "Chinese thing." We don't borrow from china, rather, they choose to buy US securities to prevent the yuan from appreciating against the $ to protect their largest export market. I do agree with you statement about the GOP. It's a really bad plan, especially at this stage of the business cycle.
  19. Trump is pro-Trump, nothing more nothing less.
  20. What you describe leads to higher stock prices. Jobs increase as a response to increased sales. tax cuts influence job creation if those cuts are targeted at those who buy things, not assets.
  21. Two wrongs don't make your question right... First, the Chinese are making a choice to purchase US paper in return for continuing to sell their goods to US consumers at "current prices." They accumulate $s through their trade surplus with US, and rather than sell those $s for yuan and cause the dollar to depreciate against it--which would make their goods more expensive, they CHOOSE to purchase US assets to keep the exchange rate stable. We get their cheap stuff and they get an IOU that can gives them other pieces of paper at some future date. Second, have you paid back any of the government debt that was issued when your parents were working? It never has to be paid back. Just like a corporation that can live forever does, US debt is rolled over as it matures. As the safest and most liquid market in the world, US debt is in high demand by financial institutions, wealthy investors, sovereign wealth funds, et al. As long as the US debt-to-GDP ratio doesn't get out of hand--though no one (not even Rogoff) knows what that means, the debt never has to be paid off. Now, if Trump's tax plan causes trillion dollar deficits when we're not in a recession, then it's time to worry...but not for the reasons you stated...
  22. On the other hand, and to bring up an old debate, "this style of winning is not sustainable." I see one game left on the schedule that should be a given win--Indy. Every other game will be tight, even the Jets. If the breaks don't go the Bills way, they can easily lose more than they win the rest of the way. While I'm optimistic about the way this team plays and is coached, it's still too soon to say they will break the drought.
  23. Fixing the cap situation is a big motivation in their moves. Wont be surprised if Glenn is moved.
  24. thanks for posting that. I look forward to the release.
  25. Steely Dan was my first concert and band, so when Walter Becker recently passed it was emotional in a nostalgic way. This was so different because he shared his impending death with his fans. I think That last televised concert struck a deep emotional chord with not just his hardcore fans, but also with those of us who only saw them a few times. RIP Gord.
