  1. That under sure is tempting, but I’m not that new around these parts! Sucker bet! 😋
  2. I’m just glad this didn’t turn out to be a math problem. Common denominators were never my thing.
  3. I hope the people who felt they were “owed” an explanation now realize how stupid they looked. This is intensely personal, and none of our damn business unless and until they decide they want to let us in.
  4. It’s a football TEAM, not “team plus one”. You have to balance the QB vs the rest of the roster. Not having a franchise QB salary on the books helps teams compete against teams with the franchise QB. It’s all about parity in the NFL.
  5. That must have been quite a sight!!!
  6. Fair enough! It’s maybe just that I personally notice the commentators less than the average bear around here. .
  7. Did you mean to hit “SUBMIT”?
  8. I can still believe. I may be wrong, and it won’t be the first time, but I’m leaning to him making the uptick.
  9. Like with Knox, I will go on the record and say I still believe. Gabe can learn from Knox on the hands/concentration front. Improve his routes a bit, and I have high hopes.
  10. No, I think you mean @HOUSE is broke. We are financially challenged, as I believe he puts it. We don’t need to sign more expensive old guys on the DLine. I believe Von has more in the tank. One is enough. Let’s hit it with some HUGE draft steals and add some cheap labor. We desperately need it!
  11. I hope I don’t lose sleep over that…… AND I KNEW BETTER!!!
  12. You mean, since lunch? I’m almost sure this is the first one since lunch, but I ate late.
  13. This sounds like the healthy approach! I certainly don’t need to be creating angst for myself at this time of the year. If I were more ambitious, I’d be archiving all these doom and gloom threads and posts, but we will all remember who the Eyore’s are. We have some issues to address, but some folks make it sound like we are cellar dwellers. Chill! Enjoy the ride! .
  14. …..or a phone booth. 😋 I kid, mostly. Good point about draws. That’s another head scratcher to me. It just shouldn’t be so hard. We need to do some self scouting, because we seem to have some serious tells. I pray Dorsey gets some help and can prove he’s up to this. No shame in looking for help.
  15. IF we are smart, this can also be used to our advantage. Just when you think you know what’s coming…. We knew losing Daboll would hurt, but it was a little worse than I expected. I hope Dorsey can be a quick learner and is willing to adapt.
  16. That was not nearly as despondent as some of the others who hate those 14 win season. We have some things to fix, and I think they know that. They are in the top handful of teams in the league. Only one team is left standing in the end. It hasn’t been our time yet, but the future is bright.
  17. I think it’s also fair to question why we make running a screen play look more difficult than landing a man on Mars. This is a serious question for any of you X’s and O’s guys. Why can a decent high school program do that more effectively than the Bills? Are we tipping it somehow with formation or personnel groupings or something? I’m more positive than most people (especially in this thread), but that is very confusing to me.
  18. Bad teams start from the top. Brown has his work cut out for him, bit I’m pretty confident he can screw this up. You need deep pockets, and enough sense to stay out of the way.
  19. We don’t need to sign him, we just need some other team to do it. Wait until the Bengals have to pay Burrows. That will level the playing field a bit.
  20. Some threads are forgiven on a Friday night. I hope you sleep well. 😋
  21. But the third time is the charm! Ray Lewis thinks he’s under qualified.
  22. Ahh, the funny things from our youth that follows us! I was applying for Clear to get thru the (bigass stinkin’) ATL airport faster. One of the questions asked which of the following streets I had lived on. My first reaction was: none of them. But it had to be one! I realized one was a house I lived in in college for about 10 months. I never had a drivers license in that state, wasn’t registered to vote and I don’t think I was even on the lease. But I did live there for a while. I think Big Brother was just showing off.
  23. Ummm, that is a bit spooky! One of my first dates with my wife was at a club watching the Doug Flutie Hail Mary game and she bought me a Molson. It was my beer of choice in WNY and I’d get some from time to time since then. I bet I haven’t had one in the last 15 years….but last night I dreamed I was at a crazy party where everyone brought their dogs (it’s a dream, OK?) and I had a Molson for the first time in forever. I could taste it! Just about 6-8 hours ago! BTW - since it’s not a tailgate, in my dreams is the only place I should be having a beer of any type at that hour. 🍺 😋
  24. I think teams are like your kids, they all have different personalities with different strengths and weaknesses. I think the Packers are defined by a quirky Aaron Rodgers (who was never a favorite of mine) and the Cowboys are the Jerry Jones soap opera. I much prefer what I see as our stable QB and ownership. I’ll take our situation over theirs 10 out of 10 times. We have things to fix, I get that. (I’d start with a hard look at scouting, but maybe that’s just me.) But in the big picture I still think we are a team to be taken very seriously every year. I enjoy having 12-15 wins a year and being a contender, and the thought of going back to 6-8 wins is thoroughly depressing. In the end, it’s all personal preference.
  25. How about all the teams that did NOT win that year? What if the Rams sold their souls and DIDN’T win it. That was a real possibility. How would you feel as a Rams fan if you were empty handed that year, then faced the major rebuild and years of suckiness. It’s a gamble. I’m not saying you are wrong if that is your choice, it’s a personal thing. I’m glad Beane sees it the way I do…..build for lasting success and get your shots every year that way. It doesn’t mean you aren’t trying to fix what you can along the way to improve your odds.
