  1. He wants one of the most prominent Russians in America to say something about how his President is killing thousands of people in a neighboring country. When Enes Freedom Kanter did it, you thought it was great. When he was blackballed by the NBA, you thought it was awful.
  2. Exactly, but who is rushing to conclusions? THE OP! Could be any number of environmental factors, or could actually be random (they are apparently not the same type of brain tumor in all). Of all things to jump to the COVID vaccine just shows a confirmation bias. We distrust the COVID vaccine, it must be that. We don't even know if they all got the same vaccine. Where are all the sick doctors? Other health care workers in the same hospital?
  3. Talk about jumping to conclusions. Ten nurses in a hospital, over a period of time (several years) developing brain tumors of different types. Null hypothesis: fooled by randomness. Post hoc, ergo propter hoc reasoning.
  4. Translation: of course it's illegal. But it was improperly venued! That's a compelling defense. Pretty daughter. He should be proud of her. No need for Laura Loomer maxillofacial surgery. Weird though that she has that kind of power over him. Or maybe she just happens to agree with his legal decisions.
  5. I'm pretty sure those Woke Chickens conspired to drive up the price. Probably formed a Woke Chicken Union. These morons will believe anything.
  6. OK, so tariffs are used as leverage to exact concessions from our trade partner. Makes sense so far, although the legality of using tariffs for that purpose under the guise of national security sounds a little suspect ... ... but tariffs are also supposed to replace other taxes - like income tax revenue, right? I mean, Trump said it himself when he coined the term "External Revenue Service" (a/k/a the United States Customs Service). So if his tariffs as bargaining ploy work, his tariffs as revenue generators fail. So it's pretty much bs. Or he really doesn't understand the zero sum nature of these two conflicting purposes. Or both. You are more adept and grammar/spelling/usage than at economics/game theory.
  7. I always enjoy a good spelling/grammar reply. Kudos to you for joining my team (at least on this issue). We'll soon be teeming with grammarians.
  8. effin idiot. I was in favor of a vaccine from the get-go. I wanted it released en masse absolutely as soon as testing was completed. If Pfizer dragged their feet for whatever reason, that's not good. I am pointing out the particularly ret@rded view here that Trumpies accuse Pfizer of delaying a vaccine that they later categorized as a public health menace. the "rational scientific view" is not something our dear failed scientist and current lab supplies salesman has any business talking about.
  9. https://www.cnn.com/2025/03/28/investing/us-stocks-tariff-uncertainty-volatility Since Trump took office: - S&P 500 down 7.7% - NASDAQ down 12.3% - Consumer Confidence at its lowest level in 2.5 years Who needs immigrants when out of work Americans will soon be lining up for those jobs?
  10. https://www.investors.com/news/president-trump-broke-stock-market-record/ And it's worse now. Keep on winning! Bring on that recession. Nothing better than a weak job market to suppress wages for the working men and women who voted for you. But no dudes on the lacrosse team! That'll put meat on the table.
  11. No. Russia had killed them. It turns out that they only did so indirectly, since but for Russian aggression in eastern Europe they'd have had no need to conduct exercises on the Lithuania-Belarus border.
  12. More opportunity to use bogus "emergency powers" to take over more and more parts of the government and the economy. There's really no other explanation. Enjoy the economic downturn. You can feel a lot better that Buffalo and East Palestine OH may be absolutely poorer, but hey, at least not as big a chasm between them and the sunbelt. https://www.investors.com/market-trend/stock-market-today/dow-jones-sp500-nasdaq-nvidia-stock-nvda-coreweave-crwv-lulu/
  13. Wow, J Michael Waller, cut-and-pasted above by an equally logic-impaired fool. Goldberg added to group text. Figures out its real. Sits on it until op is done to protect Americans/American interests. Releases part of the thread, holds back another part because it sure as hell looks classified. Told repeatedly by Cabinet officials that nothing was classified. Calls their bluff and releases the whole enchilada. Sure as hell that part looks really classified. So a journalist had non-classified info dumped into his lap, he waited for someone to say, "umm, please don't release the rest," they said essentially "go ahead, it's not classified," he did it, they say he should be treated as a spy. Am I a spy if Hegseth accidentally emails me the China War Plan? Here I thought being a "spy" required some kind of, you know, active spying ... Goldberg is the guy who found the Top Secret document left behind on a bus.
  14. We have a new competitor for Worst Pardon Ever! This is the guy marketing the EV/Hydrogen fueled commercial truck. Spoiler: it didn't work. Like at all. He staged a video for investors where they allowed a truck to roll downhill. He claimed it was a working prototype. In other words, it was a scam. A ridiculous, ham-handed scam. So why was he pardoned? You tell me. Meanwhile, I'll tell you this: - he sold about $400 million of Nikola shares before the stock totally tanked - he used that money to hire new AG Pam Bondi's brother to be his pardon attorney - he also used it to donate about $1.8 million to pro-Trump PACs. They aren't even trying to conceal the corruption. Pardons for sale. - he contributed
  15. https://www.cnbc.com/video/2025/03/27/u-s-automakers-distracted-by-tariffs-gives-china-an-innovation-edge-former-ford-ceo.html While we fight with our "allies" China will just keep chugging along.
  16. I'm old enough to remember when NAFTA looked - at least with respect to Canada - like the beginnings of an EU style open border. This would have been a major move forward. Free flow of business and people. A new future. A freer and more efficient one. Then 9/11 happened. And the uncontrolled U.S.-Mexico (yes, the fault of the U.S., starting bigly with Bush 43 and amplifying every administration since) followed. And now we've retrogressed to a U.S.-Canada situation far worse than the one I grew up with as a kid in Buffalo. Think about the express policy now: we will levy high tariffs on Canadian goods to encourage manufacturers to move production south of the border. Oh, but meanwhile we will seek to annex Canada as the 51st state, meaning that we are seeking to impoverish that new state. It is so ridiculously incoherent that it could only come from the mind of Donald J. Trump. Elect a clown, expect a circus.
  17. It is truly horrible that Pfizer may have delayed release of this DNA-ALTERING POISON in order help defeat Trump. This was, after all, Trump's DNA-ALTERING POISION FAST TRACK and he should have gotten full credit for its creation, just as he should now be given full credit for pointing out that it is in fact DNA-ALTERING POISON. It's a wondrous Trump Achievement! It's the Andromeda Strain! It's all things to Trumpies, all at once.
  18. Just wanted to say that I enjoy these occasional reports from Wacka's World, otherwise known as the area described by a circle with a radius of 2 miles, centered at Genessee and Union.
  19. I actually feel sorry for Vance's wife, getting sucked into this fiasco as her first public mission as Second Lady. She's a really smart (smarter than her husband, who is by no means dumb), very accomplished, and ought to be given some kind of respectable assignment, like encouraging kids to learn civics or some such thing. Maybe Be Best. Not Be Half of Dumb and Dumber.
  20. Kristi got the boob job too? Was it to balance out the face injections?
  21. Lots and lots of people leave their Venmo contacts public. The default really ought to be private, but I suppose Venmo likes it this way. Anyway, no one cares about the simple fact of Waltz leaving his Venmo public. It's only interesting now because it is chock-full of REPORTER contacts. Making it pretty easy to imagine that this is a guy who loves leaking to the media, most likely for self-promotion purposes. And oh, very likely Jeffrey Goldberg is among the reporters.
