  1. Absolutely and totally agree. I think our FO team will continue to build the right way and continue to put us in positions to succeed and have options!
  2. I agree we are ready for someone to overpay for him. But, not sure it will happen. Agreed, that Gaines may or may not get the pay day some think based on injuries and fit in our system.
  3. Maybe it has to do with a plan and comp picks. But, it could also be they are bringing in players that they are allowed to bring in before FA starts. I do not think it is one or the other though. Probably both and a good plan. But, we bring players in year round to evaluate and entertain options. These are players we are interested in (and/or using for leverage) because at this point in the year's calendar we are able to bring in.
  4. As much as I (as a fan and seen what teams can do with comp picks) think comp picks are good. This FO showed last year that at this point or last years point the comp picks were not a priority as we could have released guys to get a 3rd round pick. I know the FO is different this year as McD ran the show for the start of FA last year and now McBeane is doing it this year and I know each year is different. But, don't fully believe that is the main reason behind these moves. JMO Does anyone know Davis' contract at this point?
  5. Based on what? A hunch? IMO we don't know as this FO is a new regime. You could be right. But, I am not sure yet.
  6. My guess and hope would be....it does NOT mean EJ is gone. IMO we need 3 very good CBs. We only had two last year. Resigning Gaines and signing Vontae would give us 3 and a huge overall roster upgrade. However, I have not seen the amount of Vontae's contract. That could tell you if Gaines is still in play for us to resign. And, I am not confident in Vontae totally recovering. It reminds me of Takeo Spikes being I don't know if he will regain is previous form.
  7. Was he serious?
  8. Agree with everything above
  9. I am interested to know why Henderson was so far down on the depth chart last year.
  10. Seriously, suck it Byrd! Weird! Oooo....rrrrr.... they
  11. There must be more to this. Or just odd
  12. Hmmm, my first thought is this is good for us and bad for the Fish. It also takes the Fish out of FA market for a top QB based on cap. Probably? so, hopefully they stick with Tannahill AND stay out of the 1st round of this years QB extravaganza. Hopefully, the Jets sign Cousins too, eating up close to $30 million in cap space. And, removing their need to draft a QB at #6. Lets cheer for good things and keep it going!
  13. Sort of agree. If Glenn is truly healthy....he and Dawkins make great bookends. If not AND he can recover you keep him because trading a broken Glenn does not yield much in return. So keep him till he recovers. If he is not healthy and most likely can't recover to almost 100% then you trade him for anything you can get for him.
  14. Aaron Rodgers waiting till about 22? They thought he could go 1st overall or Alex Smith. Smith went one. Rodgers was 22?
  15. Agreed it could be a turning point for both franchise in either direction. Let's get that QB right!
  16. I like the thought process. I really like White and Gaines starting side by side. With Gaines' injury history and his fit for our system and culture I look at that $9-$10 million range to be a win/win for us and Gaines. I hope that is where it lands. It would be great!
  17. I don't think that is the case. We need to fill Gaines' spot (hopefully with Gaines) and get another CB (a better #3 CB since we didn't really have one last year).
  18. Thanks, good points, makes sense
  19. Win...win. Conflict resolution. Actually, win...win...win. Best possible outcome in a conflict per Michael Scott. Congrats to Reich and also pleased we still gave our DC!
