I’ll pray for him and that he rests in peace. More on why he will be a significant Pope in a minute. But first…. My issues with Pope Francis will be either the deliberate and intentional - sometimes a lot was out of context due to low info media gleefully reporting “the Pope did not condemn gay people to hell today!” - but other commentary that he felt warranted addressing publicly. Climate change and immigration specifically. Selectively making a point to call out the actions of almost always the populist politicians. While not saying a thing about anything radical coming from the biggest threats to civilization on earth. They stayed silent when the Olympics mocked the last supper before billions of people. They stayed silent when last Easter - on Easter Sunday - Biden (fake Catholic) tweets about transgender day of recognition. This silence and conflicting statements led to a lot of friction in the Church and confusion among the flock. The next Pope must not allow this to continue. But for the times, perhaps these optics had to happen. His Papacy came at a time the church was under attack (always is) for the sexual abuse lawsuits. If God deemed him to be a leader necessary for these times it was bc he was best suited to publicly heal the Church’s reputation - to reinforce what we already know - that it’s an inclusive Church where all are welcome. The sin is not. He succeeded. I know this bc of the responses by our commie friends in this thread. AND NO DOGMA CHANGED. Nothing. He was clear as day on trans issues when he wasn’t in front of a 60 minutes camera. He was clear as day on gay marriage. And more young are converting to Catholicism than Protestantism. They are conservative as are the next generation of priests that understand what tik tok is and the challenges we face as a church and as a civilization. The church is thriving. God bless Francis and the next Pope.

Yes it is. Hegseth can *allegedly* text whoever the ***k he wants. —-The guy that gave virtually zero Fs about Hunters laptop, Hillary’s emails, and Bidens classified documents. Also, so sorry Maryland Dad didn’t work out. What a pathetic hypocrisy filled existence you live. -

Ummmm…..there is no new deal. They started doing this once the CHIPS act was passed - under Biden. When your party kinda sorta but definitely not today supported bringing production here, and relying less on China. Because they’re evil. And you’re rooting for them. Good work folks. You’re on a heater bringing in a new coalition this week. -

What Does "Due Process" Mean?

….Can you imagine if the Supreme Court had bypassed all lower courts, and enjoined an emergency COVID regulation twenty-four hours after a district court TRO was filed? Does everyone remember the South Bay "super precedent"? During the pandemic, there were actual imminent injuries by American citizens who sought to pray on holidays. But Chief Justice Roberts took his time, and ruled against people of faith for months at a time. It wasn't until Justice Barrett's confirmation that this tide turned. (I am convinced she regrets that early vote.) By contrast, the Court issues unprecedented orders to ensure that alleged gang members, who are in this country illegally, cannot be deported. I'm glad that the Chief has his priorities straight…. ….Justice Alito's sixth bullet references a hearing before Judge Boasberg on a Saturday. Although this Court did not hear directly from the Government regarding any planned deportations under the Alien Enemies Act in this matter, an attorney representing the Government in a different matter, J. G. G. v. Trump, No. 1:25–cv–766 (DC), informed the District Court in that case during a hearing yesterday evening that no such deportations were then planned to occur either yesterday, April18, or today, April 19. Judges in the Beltway apparently are always on call to hold emergency hearings whenever the ACLU asks for one. It is unclear why Judge Boasberg is doing anything with these cases. The Supreme Court found he lacks venue and the D.C. Circuit stayed his special prosecutor frolick. Still, even if Boasberg denied relief, he is still demanding concessions from government lawyers. The seventh bullet points out an obvious argument: the Court has never held that habeas can be used to certify a class, and the District Court never certified a class. The Supreme Court cannot exercise Rule 23 powers on the fly. Although the Court provided class-wide relief, the District Court never certified a class, and this Court has never held that class relief may be sought in a habeas proceeding. Justice Alito issues a challenge to his fellow members: I couldn't join this opinion, so why did you? In sum, literally in the middle of the night, the Court issued unprecedented and legally questionable relief without giving the lower courts a chance to rule, without hearing from the opposing party, within eight hours of receiving the application, with dubious factual support for its order, and without providing any explanation for its order. I refused to join the Court's order because we had no good reason to think that, under the circumstances, issuing an order at midnight was necessary or appropriate. The conclusion is a shot at J. Harvie Wilkinson: Both the Executive and the Judiciary have an obligation to follow the law. The Executive must proceed under the terms of our order in Trump v. J. G. G., 604 U. S. ___ (2025) (per curiam), and this Court should follow established procedures. Amen. The obligation cannot only be on Trump; the Court must obey the law as well. The more Chief Justice Roberts issues decisions like this, the more his precious "legitimacy" withers….. -

As much to do with tariffs as the tweet Bill posted about the Rochester workers. Nothing. So I thought I’d point that out, and what a corrupt ***t hole NYS is. Which should be DOGEing. DC wealth that’s getting sacked is simply going to redistribute in the south or red states. As will any NEW manufacturing as as result of the tariffs. But Team TDS is too busy telling “Orange Man Bad” to actually come up with solutions for actual Americans. Too busy flying to El Salvador….
