  1. http://www.profootballreferee.com/1912/college-football-officiating-101-catchno-catch/ College rule, Any better?
  2. I remember a Bills game last year, I think KC? and it was Goodwin? on the receiving end. He had control all the way throughout and as he was rolling up to his feet the DB knocked the ball away. I agree need to be changed and think the NFL will address in the offseason.
  3. Not bad. Kim needs a better title.
  4. I should have been more specific, not just talking about EJ. I mentioned Hundley. There are others who fit the bill. Since it is going to be tough to come up with a franchise QB, is this a viable strategy in the mean time.
  5. crickets.....Strangely quiet, without much more than speculation out there right now!
  6. http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2015/1/8/7507179/nfl-playoffs-seahawks-panthers-russell-wilson-cam-newton-marshawn-lynch#comments It is the Pete Carroll, Seahawks strategy. As for the read option and QB scrambles, we were running it last year with EJ and Thad. Our rushing numbers display an interesting trend. Games 1-5 2014 EJ @QB 153 yds/g, Games 6-9 Thad 137 yds/g Games 10-16 EJ 142 yds/g Games 17-20 2015 EJ 122 yds/gm Games 21-32 KO 83 yds/gm I don't know about you, but I thought our offense at the beginning of last year, was when EJ was at his best. The Carolina, Baltimore and even the NE and Cle games. As Carroll describes, big pass plays can come about as well. My questions to you all. Is this a viable strategy for a team with uncertainty at the QB position? I know and realize all the passing game and having a franchise QB talk that is out there. It is tough to come up with one and may be ideal. However, you can't just punt because you don't have one of the top 7-10 QBS in football. Did the EJ injuries, and the emphasis away from the read option, cause us to stray from our best strategy? Is it possible to make the offense work without someone like Russell Wilson using his intelligence about when to get out of bounds, and avoid the hits? Is someone like Brett Hundley, who is likely available in round 2, and is a better runner than EJ, a good option to draft? Or finally, do we continue in our search for a modern, franchise, throwing QB somehow? I look forward to having a rational discussion with some you thinkers out there!
  7. Why does this subject always have to go an either/or binary subject? It is always EJ hate/ EJ defenders or this guy or that guy. The fact is there is a fair amount of uncertainty. The Bills would be wise to consider mutilple options including developing EJ, bringing in a good FA or 2, and using the second pick or moving up in the draft. Anyone who thinks it is a waste of time to work with EJ because he has not shown he is viable is being foolish. Anyone who thinks just because EJ is a first round pick, and wants to put all their eggs in his basket, is also being foolish.
  8. You better be careful spouting such logic on this site. There are those who think that only the QB matters, and will argue as such.
  9. Be able to see the couple bad trees in the forest!-Doug Marrone aka Mojo44
  10. No one ever advocated a lottery strategy to find a QB. Someone said the current scouting methods "don't allow them to fall through the cracks", because they are so great at it. This is BS and has been removed now by that person. The wolfpack has twisted this all over the place. Thanks for sharing probability with us, no one else on here had any idea about that. Learn something new everyday.
  11. Kirby changed his original post that stated guys don't sneak through the cracks anymore, therefore Lomardi1 argument was invalid. Boy do you have a lot to learn. I'm done boys.
  12. I'll try one last time. Lombardi1 used the Lombardi-Starr example. Kirby argued that doesn't happen now because scouting-technology won't allow them to "slip throught the cracks". My point is that it can and does. He cherry-picked number 75 pick because Russell Wilson was the 75th pick. It happened 3 years ago! It happened with Brady at the beginning of this generation, which I realize you think that this a long, long time ago. But it isn't. And, don't forget Tony Romo. Nobody is arguing that the odds are better below the first round!
  13. His point was no one slips through the cracks. So out of 12 you have a 3rd, a 6th and an undrafted. That's 25%. It happens more than you think. BTW, Russell Wilson did slip through-every team passed on him, not once but twice.
  14. I agree the QB is more important now than 40-50 years ago. You are going over the top in saying that no one slips through the cracks anymore. We all know the examples Brady, Warner etc. Love that about the Pegulas.
  15. Ease Up Man. Just providing a little humor to the situation. I know it can get worse, that is always possible. I'm not panicking though and I'm confident we can make it work. Trust me.
  16. This! This my friend. Is not possible. RELAX
  17. http://www.ninersnation.com/2015/1/8/7510849/mike-shanahan-49ers-head-coach-candidate-odds-gambling Is there anything to this? I also hear Rex's odds of going to Falcons are moving that way. http://www.ninersnation.com/2015/1/7/7512195/dan-quinn-looking-at-kyle-shanahan-as-offensive-coordinator-according Could the Jets actually go for Dan Quinn with Kyle S as OC?
  18. Doug why did it take so long to get Urbik in the starting lineup? Did he bang your wife or mother?
  19. I wish some on here would realize we don't have to "beg" someone to come here and coach the team. Jeez do you really want someone who doesn't really have his heart in the team. The interviews are for both sides to get acquainted and see if there is any fit. Any coach worth having knows we have EJ, and he either believes or doesn't. If he doesn't then he needs to shows us his plan for QB. Please don't act like we have to kiss butt to get a coach here.
  20. Agreed. I have seen more conflicting reports the last few days. There is some major spinning going on by both sides.
  21. Yeah I think some may be selling him short due to speculation about his role.
  22. By virtue of really nothing other than good fortune in choosing a marital partner Nah
  23. Having Kim in the interviews in a great thing. I have found that having a female opinion during interviews can be very useful to the process!
