  1. I think we are pretty much in agreement. All of what you say is very fair. Allen is the wildcard and depending on whether I've just read Bandit of Gunner I go back and forth!
  2. Another guy who remembers the Earl Campbell, Eric Dickerson, OJ Simpson era! I think rules are so blatantly slanted toward passing it is very unlikely in the near future. No motivation for the league to change the rules away from passing either. I will say, often have wondered if someone won't take advantage of the smaller, speedier D fronts people are building more and more. Try to beat it with size, strength, power and different packages. Some of it is done now, just not so much.
  3. We will have to suck it up the next weeks and have no answer until we're on the clock at 2 hopefully What is you position on the QBs?
  4. I will likely be a tantalizing 3 weeks because I think Browns aren't going to announce their pick declaration before the draft.
  5. No I just don't want Allen ahead of Rosen, Darnold and perhaps Mayfield. If they moved up to say 6-12 and took Allen I would be fine with it.
  6. You don't think Buffalo gets to 2 and takes Rosen and if they do instead they take Allen?
  7. Anyone else think Jerry and/or Shaq better be ready to change addresses?
  8. Didn't know they had 81M, but I do know they have some huge paydays coming up.
  9. Just not my style. I'm from the Herb Brooks school of we're trying to get the best TEAM not the best players. They have an aging and mediocre Oline is an example of where I'd focus. I also don't think being better than the Chargers get's the job done.
  10. Yeah I know. Not my style to operate the way he is. 1/32 chance is about 3% chance to win SB. Assume they have better talent than anyone else so make it 10%, that still leaves a lot of room for failure. Team could be in a fix when the new stadium opens. I also don't think Goff is as great as some.
  11. I think Allen will go in the first, I just believe teams are using him at the top to divert intentions. You are correct about Rosen.
  12. Seems like he's trying to build a dream team based on names. They'd better win the Super Bowl this year because they're mortgaging the future.
  13. Not a chance, they do all that to get a huge project, one who is likely the number 4 QB prospect in the draft. Nope
  14. Excellent point! Wrong! How does Aaron Rodgers survive in Green Bay?
  15. I think they want an OT and perhaps McGlinchey from Notre Dame is the target.
  16. https://www.seccountry.com/alabama/alabama-nick-saban-responds-ucla-qb-josh-rosen Remember one thing, these guys have a much different public persona. Behind the scenes they don't encourage same things they preach. The stakes have never been higher.
  17. This is typical of D1 coaches more now than ever. As a former D1 hockey player at an IVY league school 30-35 years ago, and having my son take the same path in the last few years, let me shed a little perspective on it. When I played, we had practice at 5:00 and it ended at 6:30-6:45. You headed over to the rink about 4:15- a short walk. Shower and dinner after practice back home no later than 7:45. Total time per day 3.5 hours. Occasional community service commitments on weekend. My son's experience was like a job and is viewed like that by the players and coach. Between meetings with coaches, lifting , special instruction ,watching film, practice, time with the trainer and doing many community type events, he had way more time invested. Hell after the games they were required to ride exercise bikes while family members waited for them. He easily averaged 6 hours a day on his sport. During this 6 hours, people who are not playing sports have a huge time advantage. Summers are different too. My sons coach does NOT permit players to do summer internships! He wants them to be in town and working out. On more than couple occasions the coach screamed at the team ," I thought I was getting hockey players and instead I got students!" This is no kidding and at an IVY league institution. People have no idea how different it is. People who think it is no different now, have forgotten how big a business college sports have become. Careers, big contracts, egos, getting a better job, high stakes all play into it more than ever. And, Nick Saban is one of the worst I'm sure. Josh Rosen 1000% correct. Hell when i played we had some engineers on the team (I was one), Now-none..nadda..it doesn't work period end of it.
  18. My thinking exactly, and I don't think you wait unitl free agency is over, and all the QBs are gone save one (AJ), pay him 5 M/yr, because you're interested in a project draft pick (Allen). The Browns are another story, they may feel like TT can give them a 1-2 years.
  19. I've thought all along the Browns want both a QB for the future and Barkley. Maybe more than a year LOL
  20. That tells us all we need to know about the Browns. I'm not convinced even with Dorsey that this is going to be a success.
  21. What have I missed? Who says this?
