  1. This whole thing leaves so many questions. First they cancelled the season, and then Keith McShea had a follow up article about it because a lot of people thought they shouldn't have. I thought it should be up to the players. It seemed McShea thought so, too, but his article never got an answer to what the players thought. Then, the whole "cause" is put into question. All along it was said that it was a helmet to helmet hit. But, then Portville (the opposing team and the home team) - their head coach watched the game film over and over and saw no such hit.........But, he won't give the game film to McShea or the News to take a look. It's kind of strange how the whole thing unfolded: http://www.buffalonews.com/columns/keith-mcshea/game-film-reveals-no-answers-to-janes-death-20131003 Then, they have a big article this week about the 6 players in WNY football history who have died. Now they've tempered it down to "a hit" and say that it's up to his parents whether they want to release the results of the autopsy because he was under 18: http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/high-schools/when-football-is-life-and-death-20131008

  3. I didn't cut it off. I wasn't going to go to the next page, and paste all that, too. All I know is we had a charity golf tourney on Monday, and it was the one day in ten that it was going to be bad out. Sunday was gorgeous and Tuesday thru the next 7 days were all sunny and an average of 70. So far, that's exactly how it's gone.
  4. LOL - they should definitely disown them!................Yeah, OJ definitely made it fun. He's still the best I've ever seen..........But, all the talk now is of 13 years of no playoff games. Well, in that 12 year period, we had 1 playoff game. So, it's not like people our age grew up with a dynasty!
  5. You need to get new friends! (I actually thought it was going to be like you said. I don't have any kids, but my nephew and his friends, and all my friends' kids are really into the Bills. I am very pleasantly surprised). My first memory of the Bills was in 1968, so really those first twelve years of '68-80 were not very good, but I still loved the Bills.
  6. Both my iphone and weather underground. Today did not have a cloud in the sky and it was definitely in the 70s:; -Day Forecast for Weather Station KNYWESTS14 Thursday, 10 70 | 52 °F Partly Cloudy Chance of Precipitation 0% Friday, 11 70 | 50 °F Partly Cloudy Chance of Precipitation 10% Saturday, 12 72 | 54 °F Partly Cloudy Chance of Precipitation 10% Sunday, 13 72 | 54 °F Mostly Cloudy Chance of Precipitation 0% Monday, 14 66 | 39 °F Chance of Rain Chance of Precipitation 20%
  7. Every one of the kids that I know who are late teens and in their 20s are huge Bills fans.
  8. The offense is designed to tire out the defense!
  9. The bolded part says it all for me..........Spending the afternoon watching a sporting event is what most of us want to be doing. I can see why you wouldn't want to go the game... This is what I always have said. This really just applies to able bodied people in the Buffalo area. If you have health issues, or live hundreds of miles away, I can see a point being made. What used to drive me insane is they used to show on the news all the people going to bars in Canada - from Buffalo. I think the NFL may have closed that loophole, esp. with the Toronto series..............But, I used to be "Are you kidding me?? You won't go to the game, and support Buffalo as a city, but you'll probably spend more money hauling your ass up to Canada, and spending a whole bunch of money in a bar there.".........It made zero sense!
  10. Why don't you go to the game? Why don't you go to the game?
  11. Sunny and 70 for the next ten days in Buffalo. The way it's been for months, only ten degrees lower right now.
  12. This is why I said ever since I knew that another team can't sign him to a long term now either - that a trade makes no sense.
  13. You're exactly right. The only reason I loathe the preseason and was in the minority hoping for 18 game regular seasons is the pricing.
  14. Apparently, it's also a player's right to sign a contract and then say your foot hurts. I would contend that he is still holding out.

  16. Good research, Gordio! Although lately it seems a little different, there's been a lot of years where the snow doesn't start until around Dec. 20th give or take..............Now seeing those low temps not hitting below 30 until then makes sense.
  17. Marv said it right at the very beginning of free agency. It hurts the team losing the player way more than it helps the team getting the player, in most cases.
  18. When I first saw this story, I said I bet it's in another county. Yeah, it was............Then, I said - now the story will change as we go along.
  19. I wouldn't trade him for anything less than a 1st or 2nd. And, wouldn't really be happy with a 2nd.
  20. You said it - it's grandstanding.
  21. I agree, and my mom also had breast cancer. Both my parents had probably 4-5 cancers between them. Yet, I really wish that a lot of this cancer research would go into Alzheimer's research instead. We all have to die sometime. But, we are living so long now that we are going to have an unbearable amount of people with dementia. I am much more about quality of life than quantity.
