I think it is plausible they might end up tanking, but if they do it will be because the first half of the season became a train wreck even though they were trying to win. If they only have 2 wins after 8 games, I can see them throwing in a backup QB and taking the lumps for the top draft pick. But I think they will be too good to end up in that position, even against great competition. We shall see.

It is not uncommon to move linemen around. Many of them are capable of playing multiple positions.

Jeremy doesn't know jack about football. I remember listening to the pregame show of the first home game two years ago as I was driving to the game. This knucklehead was talking with bravado about how the Bills defense was going to be number one in the NFL. We all know how that turned out. He likes to count his chickens before the eggs have hatched. This morning when he was picking wins and losses, he was doing the same damn thing. He was speaking matter-of-factly about which games the Bills are going to win or lose this year as if it is truth. He is truly a know-nothing idiot. And when he breaks down film - you can tell - he doesn't really know what he is looking at or talking about. He is a wannabe pretender who is generally bad at his job.

lol. Lack of experience. I bet there is an awful lot that guy doesn't know due to his lack of experience. NFL defenses will eat him up if he has to start day1. Needs to sit and learn and practice for at least a year.

If the Bills didn't think any of these quarterbacks are likely "franchise" material, then why in the world would you expect them to take a guy in the first anyway? I am sure they don't intend to intentionally downgrade at any position if they don't have to. And they certainly aren't going to spend their first pick intentionally doing it. That would be crazy. Anyone who has a beef with that should really have a beef with the Bills ability to "identify" talent for their situation. If they confidently thought the talent was there and the guy would turnout great, they would have pulled the trigger on him.

We also got the first round pick this year at 27. That was overlooked by many. If you ignore that we still got a first round pick this year, the trade looks lopsided towards Kansas City. With the first this year, it is not.

Bills get a bonus first round pick next year and extra picks this year instead of drafting a flashy player. That is somehow "short term thinking"? Dude. You keep putting your foot in your mouth. B.S. comment. Chiefs paid up to draft a guy who won't play for at least a year - probably several. That is at least as much of a "punt" as the Bills making plans for later this year and next year. Wait..It's even more ridiculous than that. Bills first draft guy is almost guaranteed to start in game one this year. Not a punt at all.

Obviously a trade back for that selection of picks was higher on the priority list than any single one of the players still left in the draft. If Solomon Thomas was still there at 10, they probably take him and not trade back. OR perhaps even Corey Davis. We don't know how BADLY they wanted any one of those players. Obviously they valued the future options more than the guys left.

Disagree. I think their vision is to build a roster of great athletes with the caveat that they have to be great people too. That way they can gel and play as a true team instead of the "look at me" type guys who are all about the paycheck. And I happen to agree with that approach. This McDermott guy might really be what this franchise needed all along. Could just be that he and Whaley are going to be an excellent duo. I think Andy Reid saw Mahomes and thought "this guy has the potential to be Donavan McNabb 2.0 or maybe even a little better. And that is why he was giddy over him. I think Bills could have got a little more from them yet, but I am happy. Yep. Pretty much. We won't know for years to come whether this truly was the right decision. Seems like it was at this point in time, but time might prove otherwise.
