You are assuming, like some others, that the Bills don't win if they go for it. You don't know that.
-
Season is on the line. tie is unacceptable.. Just like when Rex punted last year. Gutless and knuckleheaded Dick Jauronism.
-
I think you are dead wrong on your odds assessment. And it's not even close.
-
How do you know they wouldn't have won if they went for it?
-
If that is the line of thought, then why do the Bills choose to receive the ball first in overtime? Shouldn't they have kicked and played defense with the intent to kick a field goal once they force the change of possession? McDermott has some Jauron genes in him. .
-
I took it at face value because I believe it to be true. This Colt's pass defense is bad. I expect Peterman to do well. If he doesn't, it says a lot about his progress thus far.
-
It really is. I expect him to do well against the Colts. If he doesn't, it will certainly help the coaches make up their minds about his future validity as a starter or backup for the Bills. Just play Webb the whole game. He has had impressive preseason games before where he looked legit. We want Webb!

Adoption here in America will continue to be very slow (my opinion). Americans aren't seeing it as a need that they want filled. That is why I think it will take something like rampant inflation to push people to use it. High inflation would create the "need" that Americans would want. Without a need, there is no real incentive to use any crypto compared to the dollar - unless you are trying to hide transactions from Uncle Sam and/or law enforcement. I can't see what other event is going to spark people to really want to use it. Can you?

Snow tires (studs or none or all weather)?
PolishDave replied to mead107's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Used to just run all seasons through winter in WNY. First time I tried real snow tires I was sold. Remarkable difference in traction. No studs. I swear by them now and won't go without them anymore during winter months. Not brand loyal. I let the guys at Dunn tire recommend a couple choices for me. Then I pick one based on price and their opinion of which one is the smarter buy. -
Your scenario is complete nonsense dude. If you can't understand that, then I can't help you. When you go to a bank to borrow money, - say borrow $20,000 to buy a car, the bank won't let you pay it back in pesos or Euros or whatever. It wants dollars back. It is no different than any other currency in the situation you are describing. Nobody would go borrow some other currency (whether Bitcoin or Pesos or Euros or whatever) for a loan intending to pay it back in some other currency. Well, maybe you can find someone who does that. But it isn't normal. Your loan scenario is just not realistic. As far as the fluctuation in the price of the currency goes, yes that is a major deterrent for people actually using it to conduct business. The people who own Bitcoin now are hesitant to exchange it for anything because of the massive upward move in price. Price stability does matter if you want people to use it to conduct business as a part of their normal everyday life. Instability is bad for Bitcoin and cryptos in general for convincing people to switch to them instead of using whatever currency they currently use. The problem with cryptos is that the demand for them currently dwarfs the supply. But the demand is currently been created by speculators - not by people wanting to use them as a form of currency. And yes, that is bad for the short and intermediate term for the main idea behind cryptos. It will scare away financially conservative minded people - which most people are I suspect.

I didn't see any players kneeling at the game this past Sunday.

It can/could be used to hide money/commerce/transactions/investments. Ransomware developers like to use Bitcoin to collect payments so as to make it really hard to track down where the money is being sent. Following the money trail is how law enforcement typically finds these types of criminals. Using Bitcoin makes it much harder to figure out who is doing it. To find someone doing it though, I suspect it would take a huge investment of government resources. And most of the time, the criminal would likely get away with it. Bitcoin cannot finance terrorism. It is not an entity that can donate money to terrorists. You worded that question wrong. However, it can be used as a medium of exchange for anyone (including a terrorist or terrorist group) who wishes to hide some part of their transaction. There are other cryptocurrencies better suited for such things though if the terrorists choose to use them. I doubt too many terrorists are using it yet though. More likely, they are still dealing in cash currencies that fit inside bags, boxes and briefcases. If cryptos become widely accepted enough, then I think you will hear stories of them using certain ones like Monero to hide their financial tracks.

No you wouldn't. What are you talking about? If you took out a loan of $100 US Dollars you would owe back $100 US dollars. If you took out a loan of 100 Mexican Pesos you would owe back 100 Mexican Pesos. If you took a loan of 100 Bitcoin you would owe back 100 Bitcoin. You wouldn't owe $200,000. You sir, are very confused about how this stuff works.

Tre White: "the whole hood want 'em (Gronk)"
PolishDave replied to CanadianFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
May have been mentioned... Did anyone stop and think what would happen if it had been Pegula who said that - "whole hood" -
McDermott's defense relies on the front guys getting pressure on the quarterback. That is not his strength. That is why I suspect they already want to replace him.
-
I suspect if they could get a 3rd round pick or higher, they would trade him away tomorrow. Just my opinion. I don't think they will get good offers for him though. So he stays and gets rotated in and out of the defensive front next year.
-
I am assuming Cleveland will actually take a step forward eventually and not have another completely defeated season.
-
I also think this team could get a lot worse next year. The main reason is because this offensive line and defensive line both suck. And I don't think they will be able to fix both in one year - or even two years of drafting. They will probably spend their first pick on a QB - and perhaps trade away other picks to move up to do so. But that QB is very likely to struggle behind this offensive line. The direction this team is heading due to talent purge (both intentional and non-intentional) is moving the Bills one step closer to being Cleveland. The Bills being the worst or near the worst team in the NFL next year is a distinct possibility. But I am sure we will all be fired up going into next season thinking playoffs again.

Average Americans are never going to understand cryptocurrency. They just won't. It is way over their head. And they simply won't spend the mental capital required to get a firm understanding of what they are dealing with. Some people will never ever understand it. Heck 99.5% of Americans don't even understand where money comes from in this country, who creates it, why it has value, etc.. They just blindly use American dollars to buy things because it is the norm. Most people are extremely resistant to change. This is why cryptos are going to be slow to replace typical FIAT currency on a percentage scale. You, nor I, nor anyone else is going to change that. It will change more and more with new generations of people. Just as things like racism slowly diminish with each new generation.

Life On The Sidelines: Juan Castillo
PolishDave replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why would you search for a different way to do something that is already proven to work? Wouldn't you just do what works? Seems like Castillo thinks that round wheels aren't good enough. Gotta find a way to make a square one work. -
I'm not the one who did dumbass. Someone else claimed that the roster is mediocre and insinuated that it wasn't McDermott's fault. I merely pointed out that many of the players who are seeing playing time this season are decisions made by McDermott. A lot of them weren't even here last year. So, of course McDermott shares the blame for this roster being mediocre if that is what people want to call it.
-
Well Gaines and Benjamin love injuries apparently. They will have to be healthy for a while to prove they are above average - so far nope. Poyer? Maybe - maybe not. Had a few good games earlier this year. Haven't seen him making many plays as of late. If he is above average, it ain't by much. Milano - maybe - as of now average. Couple plays here and there - otherwise - average. Cadet? Too early to tell for most of these guys. Way too early to call them above average. What does solid starter mean anyway other than average?
-
You should ask the guy who claimed the roster was mediocre. But since you asked. Here are some more to add to your list: Cedric Thorton Eddie Yarbrough Nathan Peterman Tolbert Ducasse Jordan Mathews Humber Cadet Davis Joe Webb How many of those players on your list and this one are better than average? There are 3 really good additions to the roster this year: Tre White Hyde Hauschka The rest of the roster changes = mediocre talent at best so far - time will tell And let's not forget Mr. McDermott is also directly responsible for bringing in Juan Castillo and Rick Dennison. (very, very slow clap)
-
Just bringing to light the fact that McDermott wasn't handed this entire roster. He is partly responsible for this existing mediocre roster. Can't put 100% of the blame on his predecessor and/or other people.

Fixed it,
