You are correct. Sammy even said this - "I think it's a lot to do with that," Watkins said. "Being out eight weeks, you don't have the time or that trust.
-
If he is that good, why isn't he at least number 2 in the pecking order. He hasn't even beat out EJ for backup position yet. Your reasoning seems a bit suspect. What incentive does Rex have to hide anybody? Don't you think he wants to win? Don't you think he is going to play the quarterback that he thinks gives the Bills the best chance to win?

Let's read what he said - "I can say, I think that we can be one of the best passing teams. We have all the weapons and guys, I think it's more-so we have to put more effort into passing than running" - He also said he can't really say much because he missed 8 games. So it looks to me like he is frustrated that 1) He missed so much time which has hampered this team and the passing game - the team and passing game is obviously a lot better with him playing and him healthy 2) He is unhappy that the team isn't putting more effort into passing - (sounds more like a problem with team philosophy than a problem with personnel. Afterall, he says that he thinks they have all the weapons and guys - Does that sound like he is blaming Tyrod? doesn't sound like it to me. And then he goes on to say I wonder why he didn't throw me the ball on a play - then I look at the film and see there is a guy right in front of him and that is why he can't throw me the ball. - His words - "Like I said, there's certain situations where a guy is right in his face and there's pressure, and I'm like, 'Ah!' You want to be mad, but at the same time, you go can't. You watch film and see, 'Oh he had somebody in his face, he couldn't throw it to me. Those are the things you can't control, the line or what goes on back there."
-
Ok. Go watch the all-22 and then go put more words in Sammy's mouth. He didn't say what you are saying. You must be one heck of a mind reader. Can I rent your crystal ball?

Except that isn't what Sammy said in the article. Read it before assuming anything.

You're dead wrong. Roman's offenses were almost always near the bottom of the NFL in passing while being very highly ranked for rushing. It is what he has always done. Roman's offenses from San Francisco to Buffalo 2011 - passing ranked 29 rushing ranked 8 2012 - passing ranked 23 rushing ranked 4 2013 - passing ranked 30 rushing ranked 3 2014 - passing ranked 30 rushing ranked 4 2015 - passing ranked 28 rushing ranked 1 Roman's Offense executed by Lynn 2016 - passing ranked 31 rushing ranked 1 Gee, I wonder if the offense is designed to run or pass. Gee, I wonder if a ground and pound offense has anything to do with the stats being skewed towards more rushing yards and fewer passing yards. People laying the majority of the blame on this for on the QB are misguided or they have some kind of agenda. Every single one of Roman's offenses were built the same way - RUN the ball. And they have all been successful at it. Every single one of Roman's offenses have also had very low passing yards relative to the rest of the teams in the NFL. Every single fricken one. Could it maybe, just maybe be that Greg Roman's offenses suck at producing yards through the air? History says yes. 6 years in a row. The entire time he has been an offensive coordinator. His passing offenses sucked.

From the article - "Like I said, there's certain situations where a guy is right in his face and there's pressure, and I'm like, 'Ah!' You want to be mad, but at the same time, you go can't. What makes you think Incognito won't be here another year or more? He is having a good year. He'll be back. I wouldn't just assume his performance is going to drop off a lot. You do need to fix the right side of the line as far as pass protection goes. Pass protection on the right side of this line is not good at all whether the other fans here want to admit it or not. There have been plenty of video posts on this forum over this season proving that. People think that quarterbacks like Dak and Carr are all that and they praise them on this forum all the time. But, throw either of those guys behind the Bills line in pass protection and they will look a lot more like EJ than they do Brady. Stellar offensive lines like the ones in Dallas and Oakland make their quarterbacks look and perform a lot, lot better. The Bills offensive line needs improvement no doubt. I would rather spend money there than on some other flashy receiver.

Opinions on most of the games on Christmas Eve

You should all be home celebrating Wigilia style on Christmas eve. -
Fixed it for you. You're welcome. That and also - Gary Kubiak thinks you are wrong in your opinion of how to win games and Superbowls.

Trump would probably be talking about building a new stadium. That new stadium would be in Niagara Falls instead of Buffalo. He would be claiming that the new stadium is going to be the most beautiful stadium the world has ever seen. And he would be building Trump properties all around the new stadium. And he would be pushing for legalized gambling in Niagara County. And that city would see a major revitalization with resurgence of jobs, infrastructure and organized crime. Well, concrete buildings in Niagara Falls and organized crime kind of go hand in hand. Or maybe none of that would have happened.

You are right. Most people really don't care about the running game. Truth be told - a team with a strong passing attack is a lot more exciting and fun to watch than a team with a strong running attack. Running is boring unless you are an offensive linemen or running back.

I think you are correct sir. And that is why I don't give the Bills' offensive line as much credit as you seem to. I think Taylor as QB makes them look a lot better than they really are -especially compared to a pocket passing statue.

Just Moved From Boston - Explain This To Me!
PolishDave replied to Flip Johnson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think he knew exactly what he was getting himself into and knew that he better get to playoffs very quickly (and yes within his first 2 years). He knew the Bills situation and history intimately. That is probably why he is handling all this talk so nonchalantly. He knew this would happen if he didn't make the playoffs. The only reason it hasn't been worse the last 2 weeks is because the Bills haven't been mathematically eliminated yet. If they had been 2 weeks ago, there would have been an even greater amount of momentary rage. If the Bills lose either of these last 2 games, in his after game presser Rex when asked about whether he should be fired or not - Rex should say "if the fans want me fired - Let them eat cake" -

Dude. You don't even understand basic Buffalo Bills football fandom. You assume too much. Your assumptions are just wrong. And I don't intend to spend the next hour of my life explaining to you how and why your assumptions are wrong. You just don't understand jack squat about Bills fans because you're not one. Can't help you there. Don't forget to send Rex his Christmas card. And please do keep reiterating your excuses for his crappy performance as a "defensive guru" coach. That dude just flat out sucks at what he claims to be great at. -

The problem with your takes is the only thing you offer is excuses. And everyone here is sick of them. Excuse, excuse, excuse. Winners don't make excuses. They get it done. But nothing. You aren't defending Ryan well. You are making a better case for canning him. We did give him time turn the defense around. 2 years. He turned it around alright. He took a decent defense and made it a lot worse than it was. Congrats Jets fan. Your guy made the Bills worse off on defense. -
Don't go getting all worked up. I didn't say anything about QB. You are the broken record stuck on QB. I picture you sitting in a chair in a dark corner of your house facing the wall rocking back and forth saying to your self- "Our quarterback sucks. Gotta watch Wapner. Our quarterback sucks. Wapners at five. Our quarterback sucks. oh boy. Wapner. Our quarterback sucks. 82, 82, 82, 246 toothpicks." lol.

Tell me exactly how many shootouts the Denver Broncos had on their way to a Superbowl championship? Here's a link to make it easy for ya - http://www.nfl.com/schedules/2015/reg/broncos

Strategy Behind Playing Cardale Next Year
PolishDave replied to HumbleAndHungry's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ok. But playing him because there is a good chance he might be a train wreck is beyond stupid. That's something a Patriots, Jets or Miami fan would hope the Bills would do. If the Jets, Miami or the Patriots promised to start him next year all year no matter what, we should just hand Cardale over to them right now. Let's just go get Jeff Tuel back and start him all year. Maybe we can get someone to start Geno Smith next year? -
Strategy Behind Playing Cardale Next Year
PolishDave replied to HumbleAndHungry's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Um.......no Dude couldn't beat out EJ for the number 2 spot and you want to just start him? He can compete for a starting job with other guys (whoever they are), but he is going to have to get a lot better before he earns starter status. You are just assuming he is going to be a serviceable starter. That is a huge assumption. And you are very likely to be wrong. -
Watch, Elway will find a QB
PolishDave replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thought I pretty clearly specified it was the pass protection that is not good. 2 different things. You can be decent at run blocking and weak in pass protection - example = the right side of the Buffalo Bills offensive line. -

Good plan. I'm onboard for it. Well, except for the Mills thing. He can be fired. Gotta get someone else in there.
