  1. Why do i find this so irritating?

Manipulating the market via heavy weight players. ala Kraft and Jones.

I am a simple Man.With simple needs, like Buffalo Bills football each year.

I hope Pegula kicks one or both those basterds in the nards.

Is this undue pressure happening now that Ralph is gone? And those senile old gluttons think a chink in the armour is ripe for prodding ?

Just let us have our Buffalo Bills and STFU.

It is irritating. Just some rich guys looking to get richer. The Bills look very safe for the foreseeable future with Pegula owning them. Some other teams less so. I'm looking at you, Jaguars. How are you guys enjoying those London trips? Do you know they pronounce the name "Jag-U-ars" there?

  2. Do you have a point ? So they had one bad year.

They must really suck. Nevermind they were in second round of playoffs the year before where flacco threw 4 tds so belicheat and Edelman pulled out the super secret trick plays.

Terrell sighs ? Yea he's not any good.

Suggs was a hell of a player, but he'll be 34 in October and he's coming off an achilles tear. His initial burst really has been a huge part of why his pass rushing has been so great over his career, but I'm not sure if it will ever be what it was or that we will see him return to form. Honestly, I doubt that he will. Not that he won't be productive for a little while longer. He should be. He just won't be the special player he used to be.

  3.

If small markets are not viable, what do you do? Cut the NFL to 24 teams?

There are 53 metro statistical areas in the US with populations over 1 million. Buffalo-Cheektowaga-Niagara Falls is (barely) one of them.

Most of the top 30 MSAs have teams within their MSA or nearby. If you moved the Bills, where would you move them to? Would that really make the NFL better? More profitable?

Given it's history, traditions, and the loyalty of its fan base, I have to say the NFL is stronger with the Buffalo Bills than without them.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Metropolitan_Statistical_Areas

I have to think that this is Jerruh and Kraft's way of signaling that they'd like to see migration from smaller markets to larger ones. The smaller markets today are clearly viable, but they aren't as profitable to the league as larger, untapped ones like Mexico City, London, etc. They can't come out and just stay that they want to see teams bail on their current cities though. So they're laying the foundation for moving some teams by saying they aren't viable.

  4. They will remain viable if they are well run. Fortunately the Bills are. Teams are going to have to find creative ways to generate more non-shared revenue to keep the gap between the "have's and have-not's" close. That will mean a new stadium.

True. How important the team is to the area and how well that area supports the team is incredibly important as well. That, of course, boils down to ticket sales, luxury box sales and financial assistance towards stadiums.

  5. i don't think his chances are good to make the Bills this year, but someone will sign him after he's cut. If he commits to training for football, I think he will bounce around the league as a fringe player because he's fast and has no off-field baggage. He may never put up big numbers, but if you look at some of the WRs on NFL rosters you know he can collect an NFL paycheck for a long time as a depth guy as long as he doesn't suffer an injury that he actually can't recover from. Speed is speed and as long as he has it, at least one team will pay him to suit up.

Dunno, man. There's a lot of fast guys who can't play football out there. If Goodwin gets chopped at final cutdowns he may not get another chance with another team. Roster spots are precious then.

  6. Three guys... One LAST look before we cast them into the seas of forgetfulness forever...

    1. Tajh Boyd. - Not convinced that this guy couldn't play... Surely he could be a competitive camp arm (if in shape).. -Compete for a third spot after EJ is cut, or traded? Didn't do much up in Canada but he sure looked great (at times) during his Clemson career... Just an INVITE, people. -Please.

Boyd is the only player I really watched play in college. The ability to catch his scattershot throws at Clemson really spoke well of Watkins. In college a QB can get away with poor accuracy if he's in the right system and has the right talent around him, but that doesn't fly in the NFL. His outside chance in the NFL was to be able to fix his mechanics and dial in his accuracy. That's a tough thing to do and it's rare to see happen so it's no surprise that Boyd couldn't get there.

I'd like to see the Bills move on from EJ, but they need someone competent to take his place. Boyd isn't that guy. He's not even worthy of a roster spot.

  7. They got caught. Flacco went on a tear the year they won the SB, and they were forced to pay him.

I wouldn't mind getting "caught" like that. Flacco bet on himself, carried the Ravens through the playoffs to a championship and got paid large for it. He hasn't been worthy of the contract since, but I'd gladly be in that spot. This season if Tyrod wants to go on a tear, win a championship, get an Andrew Luck deal and then revert to mediocrity, he can be my guest.

The Ravens are in salary cap jail just like the Colts.

They have had cap issues due to money tied up in underperforming and/or aging players. That is compounded by some poor/unlucky drafting. Ozzie has generally taken risks in the draft. In the years leading up to the Super Bowls he hit a lot of home runs when he was swinging for the fences, but now he's striking out a lot. It is telling to see him pass on Tunsil for Stanley. Times are a changin'.
  8. Richardson was arrested for speeding and resisting arrest last July. He originally pled not guilty to the charges in August of 2015, but later amended the plea to guilty.

This could help the Jest since he probably would not have been ready week 1 of season; in fact if he does not sign tender then I think this would apply to first game after he signs tender.

Thanks. And I think 1 game is sufficient, although I'd love for it to be 2. But he may hold out and/or may not be in game shape by game 2.

It was the additional circumstances that made it look so bad. He was clocked speeding at 143 mph. He fled police and tried to evade and hide from them. There was a loaded handgun under the seat, the police noted a strong smell of marijuana and three other people, including his 12 year old nephew, were in the car. The gun was legally permitted and the police didn't find any marijuana or drug paraphernalia so only the speeding and fleeing and eluding charges stuck.

  9. i actually expected more than 1 game with what he did. Also it's not his first suspension.

Agreed. I expected a bigger suspension that would get reduced after appeal. But I expected more than one game even after reduction. I guess it's so light because his previous suspension was for substance abuse and because there wasn't enough evidence to nail him on drug and child endangerment charges. Tough to believe that the NFL didn't have him in for a pee test right after though.

  10. Clay Matthews Sr. intercepting Kelly during the playoffs at the end of the game in 1990 stands out as one. We could have lost 5 SB's in a row possibly if we get past Cleveland and Denver as SF was crushing everyone that post season.

The Monday night game against the Cowboys where they recovered the onside kick and beat us. :censored:

The first game I saw Bruce Smith in a :censored: Redskins uniform.

That was Clay Matthews Jr.; Clay Matthews Sr. was an OT who played in the 50s.
  11. I just tried sous vide this weekend. But I did it the cheapass way. Took a metal stock pot filled with water. Stuck it in a oven set to 170 degrees for an hour. Used Ziplock bags to cook in, filled with a little olive oil and seasonings. After 1 1/4 hours in the bath, I finished the filets over charcoal. The results were outstanding.

Awesome! Happy it's working out well for you. Ask away if you have any questions.

  12. You must not keep up on recruiting. The OSU 2017 class has 14 commitments that are all 4 or 5 star except the kicker (from Buffalo). Only one team ever has done that. They also have as many 5 star commitments as the entire SEC for 2017. That has nothing to do with this year. OSU and MSU lost a lot, Michigan didn't.

They are ranked 3rd here in the unofficial post spring practice rankings http://campusinsiders.com/news/post-spring-projected-ap-top-25-college-football-rankings-05-11-2016 & 5th here http://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/college-football-power-rankings-a-post-spring-look-at-the-nations-top-teams/. Michigan was a 1.5 point favorite against OSU (with Harbaugh) last year and was beaten by 29. The Harbaugh is overrated crowd would say that his team was a 1.5 point favorite because people overrate the Harbaugh effect. They rolled out there and got pounded.

UM will be a preseason top 5 team and the highest ranked Big 10 team in the country. They go to MSU and to OSU. There is a pretty good chance that their record since 2008 goes to 2-16 (0-4 under Harbaugh). If (big if) that happens where would you stand then? At what point do you have to beat your rivals? At what point do you have to play in the Rose Bowl and not the Citrus Bowl? Neither MSU nor OSU at this point would be happy with a Citrus Bowl win. A preseason top 5 team shouldn't consider that success either. The expectation is that Michigan will be in the thick of the playoff race this year.

    U Buff at 102. Ouch.
