    You sure that will work? I thought the Bills only route to the playoffs was through a division crown which required the other teams losing out outside of a Miami - Jets tie.

    In a way, this kind of reminds me of the 2004 season when the Orioles were actually in first place in July only to completely collapse into another losing season.

    Oh right... my bad. I remember he messed up somehow.

    I still recall the 2006 game against the Titans where a win would keep the Bills in the playoff. Royal dropped a TD pass that I believe would have essentially put the game away with a three score lead in the second half.

    I am an Orioles fan as well, which is the only other team I really follow closely. As you can imagine, it has not been a good decade for me as a sports fan.

    I liked the opening film on Losman when Gannon talked about Losman's decision-making. He looked at his primary receiver for too long, then he looked at his secondary receiver, then there was a big question mark over his head.

    If they stick with Trent, which I think they should, they should look for a competent veteran to back him up.

    I think that having talks with Ralph Wilson Stadium did not mean the Bills front office, but rather the Erie County Stadium Corporation or whatever Erie County calls its stadium authority these days.

    This is pretty extreme. I cannot remember the last time this happened when I was in that market. Almost always they waited until the Bills were out of it before showing an alternative game. In fact, that station shows the preseason games and at least in the past showed a special Bills show during the week.

    I am exceedingly pessimistic, but I will hold out some hope until they are eliminated from the playoffs as I do every year.

    I think what people don't realize is that Wilson wants to win and is fiercely competitive. The problem is that his cheapness in regards to coaches has got the better of him.

    It was not the most crushing loss, but probably one of the most pathetic losses I have seen. Bad decision-making and sloppy play from a team that has more talent than that. The Patriots loss last year in Buffalo was far worse, but the Bills were clearly outclassed in that one. The 49ers game was not an issue of talent.

    With most teams, it would be almost irrelevant whether the coach signed an extension or not. If the owner did not want him as a coach, he would fire the guy and eat the rest of the contract, viewing it as a sunk cost. The Bills are different, of course.

    Yes, most players will not say they want their coach fired in public. A sure sign of the players lacking confidence in the coach is when you start getting articles where anonymous players blast the coach in some way. Perhaps they will occur when the Bills lose their next game and are eliminated from the playoffs. No point now.

    I remember the game was far closer than it appeared. I recall Van Pelt coming in when Kelly was hurt and connecting with Tasker and a big drive. Only at the end did Pittsburgh pull away.
