  1. But maybe that should give us caution before we run Trent Edwards out of town. We abandoned Todd Collins because while he showed some flashes he seemed to regress terribly towards the end of 1997.
  2. As if getting the ball to the RBs and involving them in the offense is automatically "dumping it off" and a bad thing. New England's offense is built on screens to RBs, WRs and others, as well as quick slants. Getting the ball to playmakers quickly and with space is not a bad thing.
  3. 9 TVs? How many people do you have in your household?
  4. I wonder if the 70 MPH winds might have affected how far he threw last game.
  5. I always will remember the 1995 season fondly. Kelly was putting up good numbers with Copeland, Tasker, among others as his main receivers. Maybe Flutie in 1998, but I cannot remember the last time we had a QB who made average receivers look amazingly competent.
  6. I was barely a teenager back then, so my memory is fuzzy, but I recall the offense exploding for a nice win streak in the middle of that season after the brought back the no-huddle for one last hurrah. Was he really done at that point? At some level, I kind of wish he had stayed too long rather than left too early if I had to choose.
  7. I do not recall Kelly having a particularly bad season and I wonder if a team that relied less on Kelly might have won with him. Still, it's a long time ago and I do not remember the circumstances of his retirement outside of him having a hot stretch, the team then barely making the playoffs before the heartbreaking loss to Jax after a questionable fumble.
  8. Anybody try out Turbo HD from Dish Network? I do not think I would miss Comedy Central too badly, and that's the only thing missing as far as I can see.
  9. At this point, who cares? Jauron's the coach next season. Better make the best of it. Last I checked, the Bills had not been eliminated from the 2009 playoffs yet.
  10. Um, is the statistic calculated in any different way for other QBs? I think not. Stop filtering every little bit of information to fit with your preconceived notions that Trent is a bad QB just because you see Holcombs everywhere.
  11. Funny you should say that because Trent has one of the highest yard per attempt in the game.
  12. Could you try to be a more consistent flame? TYIA.
  13. Or perhaps they were all products of a system. Do you really think that Patriots struck gold again in the late rounds by picking another pro-bowl caliber QB in Cassell or perhaps many QBs with the right attributes can be successful in the Patriots offensive system?
  14. A veteran back-up QB, veteran depth on both sides of the ball -- basically, players who have been there before and who have WON before, need to be added to this team.
  15. No, it's better for the players and coaches to hate each and admit that they suck according to posters here.
  16. Trent Edwards YPA: 7.2 Brett Favre YPA: 6.7
  17. Greer?? He was not even close to starting in 2006. Clements was going to leave in 2007 for sure.
  18. INTs are worse than TDs are good. If the QB does not pass for a TD, maybe the RB scores instead. Besides fantasy football players, who cares if the QB drove the team down to the one and the RB finishes off the play? With an INT, you know that it's bad.
  19. To be fair, the Bills have had a long history of drafting DBs high before Jauron came on to the scene.
  20. Trent Edwards played better this year than Favre did.
  21. Do you really want players openly revolting on their head coach?
  22. How many times do I have this post before people stop obsessing about capital gains? IF Ralph Wilson sells before he dies he will have to pay capital gains on almost every dollar of the team's worth. Why? Because he bought into the league with a very small investment (25K-50K) so that his basis is almost nothing in comparison. If he sells before his death then his heirs will have to pay estate taxes again on the proceeds, being taxed twice. HOWEVER --> IF Ralph Wilson holds on to the team until he dies there will be no capital gains tax liability and his heirs will only have to pay the estate tax on the team's value. (It is actually the estate that pays the taxes... but that's academic). Ralph's heirs receive HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS MORE IF HE KEEPS THE TEAM UNTIL HIS DEATH. Obama's tax rates matter only in so far as they raise or lower the penalty.
  23. Yeah Dungy basically made Tampa Bay into a perennial playoff contender after they had been a laughingstock.
  24. But how is Jauron any more deserving of keeping his job as HC as Williams or Philips was? Just one 8-8 season from Philips led to his ouster and Williams at least had gotten to 8-8 and arguably just hit a rough patch after two impressive wins to start 2003. The only difference is eating a large contract as far as I can tell.
