  1. Must be McNally. He's not affiliated with the Bills anymore.
  2. Tim: With Peters leaving, is there any chance that the Bills pick up Kendall Simmons or Brian Waters (via trade)?
  3. I think Skynet has something to do with it.
  4. Wilson's opinion article was fine. It would be nice if there was something new today, but there wasn't. That's okay.
  5. Reed and Parrish should merge into one receiver.
  6. I grew up in upstate NY, but am only now close to Buffalo and only now have the funds to purchase season tickets. I am looking at what is left available and I have a question. How are the lower level corners for watching a game? I am talking about Section 106 as an example.
  7. Much of the Peters hype seems related to a desire to be an NFL expert. "Sacks allowed are not that important of a stat! Blocking schemes!" "I know line play!" When I told my wife about the Peters trade, she was like "good, he sucks." This is coming from someone who does not follow football except indulging me by watching Bills games on Sunday. Every time there was a sack or a call against the line, she was like, "I'll bet it was Peters." More often than not, it was. I would defend the guy and talk about how he's a pro-bowl player. I would say how he's the best player the Bills have. Then a little while later there would be a sack and lo and behold, the replay shows the sacker blowing by Peters. I wonder if maybe the emperor has no clothes...
  8. Is the Bills blocking scheme to block the guy coming to the right or left of you rather the the guy coming right out you because otherwise, you start running out of excuses for each sack allowed.
  9. So who played at LT last year when Peters was out: Walker or Chambers?
  10. Chris Brown confirms that this is the most likely scenario: http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2009/04/17/fan-friday-4-17/
  11. There's some tax advantages to spreading out your gain in draft picks over two years. I am sure the accountants on this board can explain this better.
  12. Just put Derek Fine at LT. Problem solved.
  13. We should have kept Matt Murphy.
  14. I really do not think that a majority will still be there. Moving to an entirely different country, likely with an entirely new name (Bills only really fits with Buffalo) and in an entirely different kind of city seem to be pretty big sticking points. Such a move is pretty unprecedented. Baltimore Colts fans didn't cheer on the Indianapolis Colts. Browns fans didn't cheer on the Ravens. This isn't like the Giants and Jets moving to Jersey or the Patriots moving to Foxborough. Those were moves to suburbs of the main city and always in the same country.
  15. If anything, the Blue Jays should have an easier case to make to potential WNY fans because the Blues Jays did not actually leave Buffalo. Usually people have a worse relationship with the ex that jilted them who still live down the street versus the neighbor who just moved next door. You talk about how Buffalo does not deserve a team and how shiny and nice Toronto is. Beyond the different country issue, this is exactly why the team would not be the same. It would no longer represent the city, WNY and Upstate NY. There would no longer be any emotional attachment from me and most others. This isn't like moving them moving to Rochester. Yes, I appreciate what Ralph Wilson has done to keep the team here when he could have left for greener pastures. I also appreciate that my wife has been faithful to me thus far. But if either abandon me, I think it's reasonable for me to be a little annoyed. The fact that you cannot see this suggests either that you lack emotional maturity or are just acting as a troll.
  16. And yet I doubt the Blue Jays are very popular in Buffalo.
  17. I am glad that you are such a giving person. If some better looking dude with more money wants your wife, I hope you have no problem with her migrating to him as well.
  18. The Colts are still the most popular team in Baltimore, right?
  19. Tim, A lot of people here argue that Peters was one of the worst left tackles in the league last year. They point to stats showing him as allowing some of the most sacks in the league. Are these statistics bogus or do they just not tell the whole story? Is there any doubt among people you talk to that Peters is one of the best left tackles in the league?
  20. Those aren't really challenging questions, actually. Even if they were, we all know in which states those cities are. It does not surprise me that he did not know where Buffalo was. It does not surprise me that he did not understand that there's an actual New York State beyond New York City. I do not, however, understand the inability of so many Americans to fail to understand that there is more to New York State than New York City. A quick look at the map should make someone say -- oh, wow, there's a whole state there, huh. People can grasp the difference between Washington, DC and Washington the state. Still, I would only be mad at McGahee (and not that mad) for dissing the city, not for being dumb.
  21. I am being half sarcastic. I actually don't believe that it shows bad character necessarily to ask for a renegotiated deal. I might do the same if I felt I was underpaid. And let's say they give Jackson a multiyear deal that pays him well for being a backup. Then he is dominant somehow while Lynch is out. Suddenly Jackson is still the starter after Lynch returns. Now he's the starter. Why shouldn't he have an even better contract?
  22. Why bother to lock up players like Jackson for reasonable multiyear contracts when the Bills don't have to when they will just hold out for more a couple years later (see Peters, Jason)?
  23. All teams need to draft well. A large market team can just get away without doing so for longer. If I was running a small market team, I would focus on locking up players in positions where experience is key and there is not a drop-off after the rookie contract. For example, I would spend money on the QB. I would focus on drafting CBs and RBs who can contribute quickly and who often start to decline earlier in their careers. I would use the franchise tag to accumulate picks when possible.
