  1. New head coach, new OC, new system. Pretty standard to announce things like this, and it also helps promote that Rex is in charge. He makes the calls on who is a starter and who is not. Nothing Doug Marrone did is the way he needs to do it, even if there are obvious positions that are locked up.
  2. Sigh... miss him already. I really hope McCoy is the absolute best RB in the league for us this year and moving forward. Kiko is going to be an absolute stud in this league.
  3. Nice thread. I think you're being a little kind to 2004 on the DL comparison. That was a good DL, no doubt, but our D line is leagues better now, and it's not close.
  4. Eh. With the skins being in the NFC I'm pretty indifferent for the most part. Also seems like as many Dallas fans here as DC. Since we play them this year, depending on the results of the game, I imagine my feelings may change somewhat around that time.
  5. Once again, how lucky are we that Doug overplayed his hand and opted out. What an upgrade with Rex. If EJ can't get it done now, there are no more excuses. Hoping he can take the next step.
  6. So just curious, and I know the crimes are different, but was it wrong for the Pats to release Hernandez before he had been convicted? I mean, that is essentially trying him in the court of public opinion before a court has made the legal determination on his guilt or innocence. By that logic, shouldn't a team be not allowed to make executive decisions about people until their case is settled in court?
  7. Was this posted already? Sorry if so, but this is to the point. He will have his day in court. In the meantime, all evidence suggests that this guy inserted himself as an aggressor into a situation he did not need to. Sorry, when you make the kind of money that NFL coaches make and you're in this business, attention on you is elevated. You can't do things like that. I think the Bills need to dump Kromer ASAP and be done with it. http://bills.buffalonews.com/2015/07/13/kromer-not-worth-keeping-around/ Over a beach chair??
  8. NFL "practice" Aka JC jogs through gaping holes and you two hand touch him. Not sure that gives an accurate look for Sunday. Also 1's on D extremely rarely if ever go against 1's on O. That's why you have a practice squad.
  9. BEST OFFSEASON THREAD EVER!!!
  10. Trump is an imbecile. We dodged a serious bullet with that one. To think, there were actually people who wanted him to own the Buffalo Bills. Phew. Hail Pegula!
  11. Yes, he refused to make the correct decision in the best interest of the team and instead chose cronyism over the Buffalo Bills and their fanbase. You can laud that if you wish, but I personally think that's BS. Also, I think that perspective misses the other key element: he was seeking an extension by exercising the opt out clause, as well. It wasn't just for his fellow coaches. It was for himself. Secondly, of course he second guesses himself about it now. He's the offensive line coach for the freaking Jacksonville Jaguars. He made a strategic gamble and he lost (but hedged by still getting paid). Bottom line is there is a lot of smoke to support the notion that he was overall a bad head coach, and there is a visible fire burning to show his offensive ineptness. Seriously one of the worst offensive minds in the game. We are lucky he did what he did. I thank him for overplaying his hand. Nothing could have been better for this team.
  12. Start building a new stadium. Here's a shovel. Go!
  13. Indeed, but they made a conclusion before conducting any analysis at all! You would have to try to run the play (bubble screen) to Watkins in the NFL to get any sort of analytics on it. Marrone: "We all know Sammy Watkins is great on a bubble screen with a little space. So that's what they THINK I'll do. In reality, I won't try it. All year. Even if the rest of my offensive game plan goes to hell. I'm sticking with it. It's only a matter of time before the trick play to Lee Smith works. Then I, Doug Marrone, will be rightly hailed as the true genius of the AFC East that I am."
  14. Seriously. We really do owe him for that one. Even though he thought he was getting one over on the Buffalo Bills and it ended up being precisely the opposite, I am still very thankful to Doug Marrone that he opted out.
  15. Marrone/Hackett were unbelievably incompetent in all phases of coaching offense, use of Sammy Watkins included. Even on the most basic levels, they just were trying to put square pegs into round holes. Just watch Watkins college tape. His screen game is UNREAL. Once he has the ball in his hands and is moving downfield, he's a threat to break tackles, evade defenders using speed, quickness, and power. Sammy can lower his shoulder and truck. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember us trying one bubble screen to him all year long. How can you watch his college tape and not say, "Yeah, we should probably draw up a play like that for him and see how it goes." It was just like willful defiance to basic things any average coach would do. So glad those clowns are gone. I have confidence Roman will coach to the strengths of our offense and Rex will ensure that he does so.
  16. Love Dixon as a member of the team. Hard to quantify what he means to the locker room. His value there could be overstated. As a RB, I haven't been overly impressed. He seems to be a decent contributor on special teams, but again, not sure if he's been that outstanding there. If Karlos Williams is an upgrade, you can't save roster spots because you like a guy. Hope he earns a spot based on his play.
  17. Oh, agreed. There's no way I'm leaving the game early. It sounds like I could potentially make it from what folks are saying, but I'd rather not stress. I wanted to get a later flight, but not seeing anything available. I'm actually just looking into renting a car and driving this trip now. I've done that several times now, as well. Or Kurt Russel's new movie, Escape from Orchard Park.
  18. Thanks for all the advice here... this is all very helpful! Dallas, where are you seeing those 7:55 and 10:10 flights to BWI at? I'm on SW website and only seeing the 6:15 flight as the last one. If there is a later flight, I will for sure do that instead!
  19. Looking for a little advice before I book a flight and make plans here for a trip! So looks like I'll be flying in for the Pats game week two. There's a flight back to DC I'd like to catch at 6:15. Is it reasonable to assume I can make that flight if I don't leave the game early? Usually I would head out of the game going south towards Erie, so not used to going north after a game. Also, looks like the two ways to do that would be to take 90 or rt 20. Which one is worse for traffic after a game and how long would you estimate either route would take? Thanks in advance for any advice!
  20. No I feel bad for him actually. Dude actually thought he had a chance to buy the Buffalo Bills. That desperate plea he published assuring everyone of his noble intentions... hilarious. Pegula just came in and was like "What was your offer? $800 million cobbled together from 42 investors? Here's what real money looks like... let's make it 1.4 billion just for good measure BECAUSE I CAN. Kim, where's my checkbook? Actually nevermind... here's a dumptruck full of gold. Will that suffice as payment?"
  21. What an awesome draft pick PB was. Looking to be a steal for a third round pick.
  22. Agreed. He is about as "mreh" as mreh gets.
  23. Not surprised they underrated Mario and Dareus. They're on the Bills. Gotta get back in the playoffs, and they'll climb. Still, how cool is it that our entire D Line is in their. They are the identity of the team, and that's pretty awesome if you ask me. I hope Bruce Smith is proud.
