  1. The reason why I do not like to see the Bills draft DBs in the 1st is because, for a variety of reasons, they don't resign them after their initial contracts. Given that it takes about half their initial contract to reach full potential, it seems awfully wasteful to me.
  2. Ooooohhhh, I'll stop now, you got me with that one.
  3. I never said it was a guaranteed way to improve the team, nor did I say the Bills should use their #1 pick on an OL, so you can keep your to yourself.
  4. I'm not predicting doom and gloom. I think the team overall is moving in the right direction. But I've also seen enough from the Bills for the last decade plus that I'm highly skeptical of their willingness to put their money where their mouth is in regards to the OL. Their OL philosophy seems to be to sign/draft several of them and hope one or two pan out. Quantity over quality.
  5. This probably means the Bills will draft their OL in rounds 4 and 6 this year instead of the 5th and 7th. Same old crap we hear every year and the end result will likely be the same as it always is.
  6. Even if the Bills somehow manage to retain Clements, it still would not totally shock me to see them draft a CB. If there's one thing I've learned, its to never underestimate the Bills' willingness to draft a CB in R1 come hell or high water.
  7. Almost five months before the draft, I think they'll probably take a CB. Its always a reasonably safe bet. The number of DBs this team has taken in R1 since 1990 borders upon ridiculous.
  8. 3/12 for 33 yards and 3 INTs just before halftime.
  9. I doubt the Bills will win any tiebreakers due to strength of schedule, but 13th wouldn't be a bad position at all. The last time the Bills had the 13th pick, they selected Lee Evans.
  10. http://www.profootballreference.com/games/McGaWi00.htm#2006 His production dating back to the bye week last year has been less than stellar. I'm all for giving guys a chance to play out of a slump, but McGahee has been very ordinary for a season and a half now. He's crossed 100 yards just three times in that period. I don't know whether I'm ready for the Bills to move on yet, but I do think they'd be wise to bring in some quality competition this offseason at the position if possible.
  11. No suprise there. The Bills very rarely rush the passer well against better teams. The exception is New England, where Schobel seems to have Matt Light's number. Otherwise, the pass rush is usually non-existent against playoff contenders.
  12. I don't think that pass would have been a TD, nor do I think it was underthrown. McAlister simply made a great play on it.
  13. Rich Gannon
  14. Its getting more than a little annoying, alright. Losman has played well to this point in the game, especially given the fact that they've got no running game whatsoever.
  15. That's a pretty accurate description, IMO. McGahee actually reminds me an awful lot of another former Bills RB, Antowain Smith in that regard. Given a choice on third and 1, I think both would rather try to run around a defender than over him.
  16. I agree. I'm not that disappointed with this loss. This team has exceeded my expectations and has improved steadily since the bye. There is a lot of room for improvement, but a lot of positives to build on. I think they definitely took a major step forward this season.
  17. He threw Price to the ground after they were 5 yards out of bounds.
  18. Schobel grabbed the FB by the facemask and spun him around as he went by on the pass rush. It was a legit call.
  19. Maybe, but then again, maybe not. Lets not forget that the Bills lost on the final play against the Dolphins in the previous year in the playoffs. Flutie committed several turnovers in that game himself, including a fumble on the final play.
  20. That's not really a fair comparison. Losman is only in his third year, Plummer his 10th. For those that think JP is bad, at the same stage of his career, Jake Plummer was absolutely awful. The numbers pretty much tell the story: 1st year: 53.0%, 7.4ypa, 15 TD, 15 INT 2nd year: 59.2%, 6.8ypa, 17 TD, 20 INT 3rd year: 52.8%, 5.5ypa, 9 TD, 24 INT 4th year: 56.8%, 6.2ypa, 13 TD, 21 INT That's about as bad as it gets statistically. The worst was clearly his third season, when he nearly threw three times as many INTs as TDs. Losman hasn't even approached that level of futility.
  21. Lets assume he was facing the other way. If a reciever gets one foot down in bounds, and then his other heel lands inbounds before his toes land on the chalk, is that considered a catch? No. Its the same situation, it happens all the time, and its any easy, correct call by the official in both instances.
  22. Its not the no-huddle, its the multiple WR sets. Price, Reed and Parrish may not be able to consistently beat a #2 CB, they can beat most teams' #3 or #4. That's why Reed gets so many passes in his direction. Its just a matchup problem and one that the Bills need to take advantage of more often.
  23. Not really, considering that they simply reversed roles this week.
  24. That's definitely a tackle for the highlight reel. Nice hit Clements.
