    Beane said it was a transition year. Nothing to do with the national media, we lost many key players this past offseason. The window with the 'core' is closed, but a different window opened.

    Bruce had 2 sacks in the first qtr against Munoz in the 1989 playoff game. He also had a 3rd sack in the first qtr taken away by a phantom facemask penalty. Then, Bruce got hurt and was ineffective. But until the injury, Smith made Munoz look like a HS tackle.

    I heard you the first 2 times. All 3 times you posted are equally dumb. Whether I played football or not is irrelevant to me thinking that tackling is not a lost art. It happens hundreds of times every Sunday and most players are pretty good at it.

    Why even consider taking him off the field? That's as poor a decision as moving him to a different position would be. And if you were to ever seriously consider a move like that, it should not be to get Williams on the field.

    Move your All Pro nickle to another position? Why? Makes no sense at all. Williams isn't that good. We won't miss him when Milano returns. Can't shed blockers, bad angles... he's decent, but too many shortcomings.

    Umpires work from Feb through October, they are full time because the season can be up to 9 months long. They stink overall. The umpiring during the world series was terrible. And the umps have it great. First class flights , per diems, great salary, vacations during the season... and they still miss obvious calls at first base.

    How will having the refs 'full time' change much? What will they be doing in March? April? I don't know how that will make them much better. There are very good officials that are not full time, so it can be done. Just need to find the good ones and get rid of the bad ones.

    Branch took about 3 steps after the incomplete pass before he hit him. I'm wondering if that was the reason.

    Pedigree? Is he a race horse ? He played 20 snaps this season going into yesterday's game. You saw a future starter in those 20 snaps?
