  1. He is 1/32nd of the decision. Why would ANY owner vote against, what amounted to another, $3.5M per team? It is a $110m to carry a regular season and playoff game on Peacock. So he had a vote but didn’t pick playing on this game.
  2. You realize that the Bills didn’t choose this right?
  3. With Herbert and Allen ruled out the Bills margin for error has increased quite a bit. I was worried, at the schedule release, that this game would be a trap. I’m not sure that the Chargers have enough firepower even if the Bills bring their “C” game. I’m hoping for the “A” game obviously but feel pretty good about this one now. I don’t expect the Bills to dominate like last week. I don’t expect the Chargers to roll over like last week. I’m thinking something like 31-20.
  4. This is a logical opinion and I don’t disagree with the annoyance. It’s a very slight annoyance to me but I get it. My issue was more with “this is a bridge too far.” If you haven’t missed a Bills game in 27 years and $6 + 30 seconds of your time is the hurdle you can’t overcome, I question your commitment.
  5. If it is to watch a BILLS game, there isn’t a number. I spend a lot on the Bills and never once regret it. If you count travel/tickets/parking/tailgate/concessions/merch/streaming services it is $10k-$20k a year (high side this year with the London trip). My investment will likely increase with the new stadium. There are people here that are significantly more than that. I chose to allocate whatever discretionary income is needed for the Bills. I’d make sacrifices elsewhere if push came to shove. If it were to watch Chargers - Packers, it would be $0 I guess. I don’t value Chargers - Packers enough to buy a new service that I would never watch otherwise. If it were Dolphins - Chiefs, I would buy the $6 service. Would I spend $50 to watch Dolphins - Chiefs on PPV? I probably would, depending on what else I had going on. I’ve spent money to attend other NFL games with teams that I have no interest in but it was “entertainment.” The number that I’d be willing to spend there is significantly less than if the Bills were involved. I don’t have “principle” when it comes to when/where I watch games. If I want to watch it, I’ll spend the money to do so. They are running a business. I’m not trying to “teach them a lessson” about when “enough is enough.” If the demand is not there, these services will stop forking over the money for the rights. It’s basic economics. If people want to teach the NFL a lesson, and boycott these games, they have the right to. I can’t fathom Bills fans, drawing a line in the sand over $6. If a Cardinals fan wanted to draw a line in the sand, I’d understand more. If the demand isn’t there the “problem” will take care of itself. If it isn’t the money I don’t see the issue. The 30 seconds to download a new streaming service just isn’t a big barrier. You can cancel it and delete it after the game. That’s another 30 seconds that you’d be committing.
  6. That’s kind of the point. It might be a slight annoyance but you aren’t going to say “I won’t watch that game because of it.” That’s like $140 a month. The $6 piece is the hill I can’t fathom dying on. If you had to buy the game on PPV for like $50, I’d still think that 98% of this place would. It would be annoying but it is what it is. At $6, I’m not seeing the reason for resistance. Just get your wallet and enjoy old wrestling PPVs
  7. If he Bills were playing, and that was my only option, I’d subscribe to all of them. If it was 10, and it was $600, so be it. Do I want that? Of course not, but the Bills come first. At $6, I question the “love” of those unwilling. Also, I have YTTV and have NFL Network. It is $6!!!! If it were a lot, I’d understand potentially. It is $.20 a day. If that’s a hill people want to die on, I question their commitment.
  8. Peacock costs me like $6 a month. If you’re not willing to pay that, I have no sympathy. You aren’t that committed. I pay over 100x that for every single home game and never complain. I CHOOSE to do that because I love the Bills. If you elect to not pay the $6 on principle, that’s your choice, but don’t come here looking for people to feel sorry for you.
  9. There’s a really good chance that we are playing for the division even if we don’t beat Dallas. Miami is not very good. The Bills are a better team (but obviously have a worse record). The Bills aren’t losing to a Herbert-less Chargers or a 2nd Pats game. It just won’t happen. They just don’t have the luxury of losing focus like earlier in the year. You’ll have to win in Miami which won’t be easy but they’ll be ready and Josh owns them.
  10. The Bills SHOULD catch Miami at this point. I know that there are no “sure things” but I’d be shocked if the Bills lost to Easton Stick or Bailey Zappe in “must-win” games. This week will be tough but they are playing Dallas at the right time. Last week was a huge emotional win for Dallas vs. their hated rival. This week has to be a bit of a letdown from an emotion standpoint. It’s a bit of a trap game for Dallas. Miami is not beating the Jets, Baltimore and Dallas. They will lose at least one of those. That means that the Bills play for the division in early January.
  11. I agree with you Gunner. To take it a half step further, his ability to play multiple positions make him an ideal candidate to be active on game days. It allows the team some flexibility with other game day decisions.
  12. This hasn’t been talked about enough (especially with the win at KC). If Herbert is out, the Bills SHOULD beat LA and NE. With a win this week, they should be playing for the division in week 18. It’s possible, without a win this week, that the Bills are playing for the division in week 18. The Chargers game has felt like a potential trap to me all year. If there is no Herbert, it’s a game that you MUST win with the stakes as high as they’ll be. I’m with @RiotAct. They’ll be out of the playoff picture if they aren’t already. Why would you bring back the QB, that you just paid a bazillion dollars to, for the last few meaningless weeks, with a broken finger on his throwing hand? What’s the best case scenario? If they string together a few losses, they increase their draft positioning as well. It makes ZERO sense to bring him back if the injury requires surgery.
  13. You take the ball against Mahomes!! Play from ahead!!
  14. You mean an “SEC” guy? I’ve been to a bunch of SEC games (maybe 20). At least half of them featured 2 SEC teams. They still chanted it 😂😂😂.
  15. This is spot on! People will create whatever narrative best fits their perspective. It isn’t that one is necessarily right or wrong, it’s the hyperbole and extremes that people use to emphasize that point that are annoying. It’s a little like that with Josh on Twitter too. The difference is the people on the negative side don’t have much more than “he has a lot of turnovers.” There are so many counters based on TD: turnover. Anyone informed can pretty easily embarrass the “anti-Josh crowd.” The McDermott one is much tougher. You can make a strong case on both sides. I fall to the “he was the right guy to build a program but the wrong guy to win a championship” side. That isn’t necessarily right or wrong. If you said “he is killing them,” you could make that argument easily. If you say, he’s the best coach since Marv, you could easily make that argument as well. You’re seeing it within this thread.

  17. If you read later posts my opinion is NOT only based on press conferences. I know a lot of people at OBD. I don’t know anyone at the Pats (at least at the moment). One of my closest friends played for BB for 6 seasons. A lot of my BB opinions are from what he has told me. He liked him a lot.
  18. Lol, you know what I mean. I’m talking about that dad with the tucked in polo shirt, khaki shorts, and dad shoes. He may or may not have his cell phone clipped to his belt with some ankle socks. He shakes your hand, but deep down thinks that you’re a bad person for no real reason. When his kid gets caught with alcohol, weed or whatever his initial instinct is that it’s your fault 😂😂.
  19. Shocking that you’d be the one to have an issue with my opinion 🙄. As you may or may not know, I have many contacts within that building (both past and present). I also follow the Bills very closely. My opinion, based on all of that, is that he’s a bit fake. Sorry that you have an issue with my opinion…
  20. What a great win for cheaters everywhere
