Vermeil said he'd entertain offers
LabattBlue replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If this is true, Vermeil flip flops more than ICE ever did... http://www.nfl.com/teams/story/KC/9134145 Vermeil retires, says he's done with football KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Jan. 1, 2006) -- With trademark tears in his eyes, Dick Vermeil said this is really it -- a third retirement means he's out of football. Honest. Unlike his other two retirements, there'll be no returning to the profession he loves so dearly, Vermeil tearfully told a news conference Jan. 1 after his Kansas City Chiefs beat Cincinnati 37-3. -
I don't know about years, but it is definitely more exciting than anything that has happened since the 2nd week in September.

Losman's "attitude" turned off teamates
LabattBlue replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You would like to believe this about the 05-06 Sabres, but it never came out until after he was released, how badly some players wanted Satan off the team at any cost, so you never really know. -
Losman's "attitude" turned off teamates

I don't care if JP is a complete a$$-hole in the locker room as long as he can play. When he starts producing(or for that matter gets a chance to show he can produce), he will shut up all the naysayers. Does anyone believe for a second that there is a team in pro sports where all the players get along like one big happy family? If so, think again. -
Mike Marz...say what you want....
LabattBlue replied to billsfaninnyc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The only way Martz looks good is if you are comparing him to Mike Tice! -
There is no room for WM to catch the ball when you have a weapon like Damion Shelton coming out of the backfield.
-
Does anyone know how much MW's contract can be cut(terms of the nflpa) without extending the contract beyond the 2 remaining years. I realize he would have to agree to the terms, but I'm not in favor of extending his contract in order to make it cap friendly and if he can't/won't take a salary reduction of at least 1/3, it's time to show him the door and move on.

Ralph Back in the Saddle on Draft Day
LabattBlue replied to Rico's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have no problem with RW "sitting" in the war room, but that's not what it sounds like in the quote from the first post in this thread. -
With thew game on the line, WM is "TIRED"
LabattBlue replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Or considering the "great job" he did with perennial fatso's like Sam Adams and Mike Wlliams, maybe it should be Brad "Jelly" Roll. -
Why wait until midweek? Ralph needs to get the axe out today and start the chopping ASAP. Happy New Year TD.....chop! Same to you Modrak...chop! Happy New Year Guy....chop! Take those trick plays and stick them up your A$$ MM...CHOP Happy New Year Chuck Lester....here is your end of year $50,000 bonus and a 20 year contract extension!

TD should have stepped in and showed some loyalty to Rusty Jones. Instead MM was allowed to shove him into a corner to the point where he quit and went to Chicago. F*** Brad Roll! -
Be patient you Patsie troll...TD is packing as we speak, JG & TC are interviewing for positions on Turner Gill's UB staff & MM is probably staying, but he should be joining fellow former TE Mike Tice in the unemployment line. By the way for all the star power that Modrak and Guy get as GREAT TD hires, WTF have they done?

Ralph Back in the Saddle on Draft Day
LabattBlue replied to Rico's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You have scouts and front office people spending hundreds of hours pouring over film and workouts of the draftees. What is RW possibly going to add to what has already been compiled? Granted he is the owner and has the ultimate say, but I don't see anything he can bring to the table that hasn't already been covered by his football staff. -
The guy I feel bad for is Al Michaels who is a world class announcer being saddled with a world class babbling idiot and ball washer....Joe Theismann.

Ralph Back in the Saddle on Draft Day
LabattBlue replied to Rico's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't need RW meddling in the war room on draft day. If he can't trust the staff he hires to run the football operations, then we have a problem. -
The only given is that Chuck Lester stays no matter what. He's probably walking around OBD today whistling dixie while the rest of the coaching staff are tip toeing through the office hoping to avoid RW.

Tice coming to Buffalo? ... Maybe!
LabattBlue replied to maverick544's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think there is ZERO chance of Tice being named the HC of the Bills, but I swear I'd give up being a Bills fan if this moron was ever hired by them. -
Excerpt from the link below... With the Bills trailing, 30-26, McGahee broke a 17-yard gain, his longest of the day, putting the Bills on the Jets' 34-yard line with 4:05 to play. He took himself out after that play and never carried the ball again. Operating out of the no-huddle, the Bills ran Shaud Williams for a 1-yard loss and had three futile pass plays. McGahee said he took himself out because the Bills were in the hurry-up offense and he got tired. Why were the Bills in such a hurry? They began that possession at their own 36, with 5:55 to play. They had plenty of time. If running the no-huddle forced their best running back out of the game at a crucial time, was it really worth it? http://buffalonews.com/editorial/20060102/1034696.asp This was only the 3rd play in the series and neither of the first two were carries by WM. How can you be tired? WTF is up with this guy?

Jerry Gray and Tom Clements...stay or go?
LabattBlue replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good point. Can't edit polls though. -
I think Clements is gone, but I wouldn't be surprised if Gray is also shown the door.
-
I would be surprised to see Tice ever be more than a position coach in the NFL from here on out.
-
The only coach who is 100% safe is Chuck Lester. Don't ask me why because I don't know.

I posted this on August 3rd...
LabattBlue replied to Kipers Hair's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Some time over the summer, I predicted the Bills would hold training camp at St. John Fisher. The Bills would play 16 regular season games this year. 8 at home and 8 on the road. Sometimes they would wear blue jerseys and sometimes they would wear white. In every game they play there will be a winner and a loser. I got a lot of heat for this post and I just wanted to say I WAS RIGHT!!!
