  1. Id prefer not to have to look at Manti Teos sad face the entire first draft night after every pick. Unless at the end of the draft, everyone looks at him at the end and says that this was a fake draft all along...
  2. So we replace a mediocre injury free QB and a great (not elite, but better than good) injury free OG with a mediocre injury plagued QB and an unproven rookie OG responsible for keeping said injury-plagued QB upright. And this makes sense to some of you?
  3. If anyone saw the Duke vs. UNC game a few weeks ago, Coach K specifically went out of his way at the end of the game to inform his crowd not to rush the court until UNC was off the court. If he was just being a sore loser that would be one thing but he's always been a class act that practices what he preaces. I think it is smart. I am sure there have been minor injuries and/or verbal altercations between some drunked up home team fans and the opposing players during these situations but theyve never been nationally talked about. All i see is a coach looking out for the safety of his players. Nothing wrong with that.
  4. Everyone complaining about the assistants getting hired....People are too unrealistic. They want big names and these are just assistant coaches. We went and got big name David Lee to "fix Fitzpatrick's mechanics". Wow that worked out so well. People are getting too wrapped up with assistants and how big an impact they will have. Marrone has said he will be fully involved in all 3 aspects of the team and I believe the team will overall reflect what he wants. WR coaches are not going to be writing playbook, calling plays, making game decisions, organizing depth chart, etc. I think what you really look for in an assistant is that they are going to take the direction of the head coach and get those position players on the same page. I'd take the guy I trust to follow through on my orders than a "big name assistant" that might think his idea is better than the HCs...
  5. I find no problem with the staff being assembled. He obviously has a vision for his offense and who better to put his vision together than the person who's run his vision already for multiple years. As far as the defense goes, he said he wants an attacking style defensivie coordinator with nfl experience. You don't get much more aggressive defense than the NYJ for the past few years.
  6. The key is whether or not he lied to the public in anyway. Whether or not he was intelligent enough to realize it was a hoax is irrelevant. Things like that can be chalked up to "being young and not knowing any better." However, being dishonest is a trait that the public will not let just go by the way side. The next few days will be interesting as all the facts start to make their way out to the public.
  7. I am going to reserve judgement until I hear all the facts. Too many times people immediately start to draw their own conclusions only to find out later that they were way off. However, if the initial reports are true, I like the idea of drafting him if available in a later round. Ray Lewis was suspected of doing a lot worse and the Ravens stuck by him....hindsight shows that decision worked out quite well. At the end of the day, it's the performance on the field that really dictates how athletes are viewed.
  8. No thanks. With pettines defense, we need more lbs and cbs. Dline is the last thing we need.
  9. I am not crazy about Smith. Until Harbaugh took the ball out of his hands and turned him into a game manager instead of a go to qb, he was below average and considered a draft bust. I don't see him fitting Marrone and Hacketts offense. Can't see him running a high tempo offense. That being said the qb prospects this draft are not great so we will see what they do.
  10. I still like the Marrone hire. I was apprehensive at first because I saw our defense as very underperforming last season. However with the Pettine hire, I am confident he can get the defense playing hard and aggressive. This will allow Marrone and Hackett to take a new young qb and get the offense running at a high tempo and high scoring level. With the Jets in shambles and the Dolphins still looking very average, I can see a 10-6 season with a wild card berth.
  11. I wanted them to go Manti but I was unimpressed in bowl game. I'd like to see them trade down and take Nassib late in the round and use the extra picks for quality LBs/wrs
  12. Donald driver is old. Greg Jennings will be overpayed. Give me Bowe. Like nix has stated. He wants a big receiver type who can be thrown to in coverage and still bring the ball in. Bowe is perfect fit. Make it happen OBD.
  13. There is no formula that will dictate whether or not a QB will be successful in the NFL. They are human beings and not robots...
  14. Why this was announced so early this morning i am not sure. Not crazy about this hire. I felt like there was more quality out there. Unless we got a sense that other coaches showed little interest during interviews. Seems like Brandons Syracuse connection played a part which really shows that he's the real decision maker at OBD. I'll reserve my full judgement until the staff is put in place and see what players come and go.
  15. I'll reserve my ideas until we hire a coach. I need to know what style of offense we are running before I pick someone. I'd like to see the Bills finally put together a team that fits with the scheme.
  16. TY Hilton, Dwayne Allen, Coby Fleener, Vick Ballard, Lavon Brazill..... Hands down one of the best drafts of 2012. Watch football much?
  17. I was surprised that the Bears let him go to begin with. I think he would do a good job of getting the most out of this defense. Our Dline talent is almosy identical to what he had. I think gilmore, williams and brooks will flourish under his system (they played much better with a more aggressive approach). I think if we were to draft teo (similar to urlacher, plays the run great, emotional team leader) our defense could make major strides. Offensively....I think with a better oline, which we have, the Bears couldve won their division. So all in all, i think Lovie Smith would be a great fit and I hope the Bills dont drag their feet and let someone else scoop him up. 6 other pro teams looking for coaches this offseason....
  18. Well that answers the question of who fired Chan. Good ole Buddy pulled the trigger.
  19. Possible sale of team? Still holding out hope. New fiscal cliff signed by senate includes 5% increase in estate tax. It will be hard to bring in quality coaches with the fear that when Ralphs gone, new ownership will send them packing.
  20. Saints led their division in points scored his last 2 seasons as OC in NO. Although their record was not great, scoring was not their problem. However, chan was also a great offensive mind and that does not always translate to victories. I would need a big time DC to be brought in for me to feel comfortable with this hire.
  21. I believe that many GMs will not touch that team with a 1000 ft pole. Other than the glamour of New York City, i see no motivation to join that disfunctional organization.
  22. All hes showed at AZ is that he can win with an established pro bowl caliber QB. Otherwise he has no skills in developing young QBs. Not a good fit for our team. Unless brady, brees, rodgers or peyton are coming to Buffalo. We need to focus on a coach with a track record of developing a young QB (see Arians, Bruce)
  23. Preparing a pretaped message informing fans that buddy and chan will have one more year to make playoffs. Continuity....
