  1. Klein is not an NFL quarterback. However, he has value if you draft him. You can draft him as an h-back/special teams guy, and he would be your third QB so you don't have to carry a third one. Almost like Brad Smith... but not as expensive. Bray is a guy that intrigues me if guys start shooting up the boards but he stays as a 2nd round grade. He was projected to be a top 10 pick next year if he returned. He has always had elite WRs which makes you wonder: are they making him or is he making them? He has maturity issues, but definitely has the "physical tools."
  2. Agree with what was said above. The talent is definitely better than it was 3 years ago, but the coaching is much worse.
  3. This is obviously really hard to pinpoint since it generally depends on the head coach and who they bring with them or have in mind themselves, but who are some up-and-coming assistants that we might see as our new O/D-coordinators?
  4. My first guesses were: 1. Coaching/GM change - Have since went off this, especially considering he said the Bills don't even know. 2. Bills would be wearing the SuperBowl era jerseys as throwbacks - Have went off this for the same reason. 3. He's full of **** (we have a winner).
  5. I've always seen the Packers do this and get publicity for it, but why don't other teams get attention for it?
  6. I've always liked the idea of having players from the successful era's of a franchise in the front office. Maybe not in huge roles, but at least in consultant roles. They would be there to at least say "that's definitely not what we did when we had success." While time changes the NFL, there are basic elements of success that are apparent in all eras, and they would have an idea what that is.
  7. This was posted elsewhere, but either way I think it speaks the truth about the situation. I think Gailey is gone and Nix has his fate teetering with no decision being made yet.
  8. I wish CJ was near Barry, but he isn't. He's having his only good year in the NFL. He's still young. Once he does this year after year (and then some) we can start getting a little crazier about him.
  9. You can point to Aaron Williams, but that's foolish. As I said, Williams was a late-1st round prospect that MANY teams wanted. He's also only been in the league for two years, he had a good first year and was terrible this year. Doesn't mean he can't turn it around... Still early on Sheppard as well. He has shown potential. Spiller was a great pick, Moats was a steal in the 6th round because he is very good on special teams and a solid backup LBer. Justin Rogers in the 7th round is highway robbery. Chris Hairston in the 4th round is a steal. Da'Norris Searcy in the 4th round is a steal. We could have two huge steals in the 4th round this year with Bradham and Brooks.
  10. I have a really tough time choosing between the two. I want a young QB more than I want a young LB, which is why I go with Geno Smith. I would be satisfied with either. It'd be an absolute dream if we could somehow end up with Te'o and Tyler Wilson.
  11. I pray this is sarcasm and not stupidity...
  12. this situation makes me feel the exact same way. i can't be crushed like that again (although losing byrd and levitre wouldn't crush me or the team AS MUCH as that day did the sabres, I just can't handle it)
  13. A lot of people wanted him then, and a lot of people still want him. Rob Chudzinski will get interviews around the league. I don't want to move up for any QBs if it's a move that costs more than two picks (I would NOT give up two firsts, I wouldn't give up more than a first and a third which could get the deal done if it's a jump of just two spots or so). If Geno is gone, I REALLY like Tyler Wilson. This guy has had shaky offensive lines and taken plenty of hits without letting it get to him. He's battle tested coming from the SEC. He's mature. He's got enough of an arm to be successful in the NFL.
  14. Rumor is that nobody will make the pro bowl from the Bills...
  15. this confusing them, i believe. it's already been announced that the eagles got no pro bowlers.
  16. To me, it almost doesn't matter how lucky or good of an offseason we have... if we lose either Byrd, Levitre (or both to those Sabres fans that remember how that feels), it's an absolutely failed offseason. There's no excuse. We need to make a major push to at least lock up one before free agency so we can at least franchise the other to make sure they don't leave. I disagree strongly with your first point. He is extremely valuable. He is the lone playmaker on the defense outside of Mario Williams. He is a ballhawk. And sure, he ISN'T Ed Reed... but he only has 2 less INTs and 1 less TD in his first 4 years compared to Ed Reed. He's definitely a guy we can't afford to lose. The only bad game I remember him having was week 1. Most of his mistakes were blamed on Gilmore that week, but I think it was the other way around in reality. And yes, if we need to overpay to keep Levitre, we HAVE to keep him. He's one of the only guys that stays healthy consistently, and he's one of the best offensive lineman in the game.
  17. According to multiple people on twitter, ProFootballTalk's Mike Florio, a completely legitimate source, said this morning on the Dan Patrick show that he believes that the Bills and Titans will be vying for Jon Gruden's services this offseason. It appears as though he is indicating that those two teams will be his destination if he decides to coach. I've been saying people are crazy for thinking he would come to Buffalo, and I still think it's a bit crazy... but maybe not...
  18. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000117300/article/tentative-nfl-salary-cap-set-near-121-million-for-2013 The 2013 salary cap is tentatively slated to be at or just below $121 million, according to NFL sources. The values for restricted free agent designations and franchise tenders have also been set. Below are the tentative franchise tag and transition tag numbers for each position, in millions. These figures were distributed in early December at the annual meeting of team owners in Dallas, reports NFL.com's Ian Rapoport. They will likely be finalized in March. CB: Franchise: $10.668 Transition: $8.939 DE: Franchise: $10.984 Transition: $8.994 DT: Franchise: $8.306 Transition: $6.919 K/P: Franchise: $2.926 Transition: $2.654 LB: Franchise: $9.455 Transition: $8.216 OL: Franchise: $9.660 Transition: $8.560 QB: Franchise: $14.642 Transition: $12.845 RB: Franchise: $8.079 Transition: $6.851 S: Franchise: $6.798 Transition: $5.899 TE: Franchise: $5.962 Transition: $5.105 WR: Franchise: $10.357 Transition: $8.716 Those franchise numbers are exactly why I think we should be pushing hard to get a deal with Levitre done. His franchise number is $3 mill more than Byrd's, and Byrd will likely make as much/more than the franchise number. So if we locked up Levitre, we could franchise Byrd for cheaper and negotiate his deal this offseason.
  19. It's almost 100% that Dwayne Bowe will be gone. Most reports are saying that the Chiefs have already made that decision.
  20. I actually don't expect Geno to go 1st overall unless he moves up boards through the process. The Chiefs have too many needs to bring a young QB in. I expect them to end up with one of the available QBs such as Alex Smith or Matt Flynn. I don't expect Jacksonville to draft him either. So we'll be waiting to see if somebody trades up ahead of us for him, or Philly takes him (I fullly expect them to go with Foles next season).
  21. Kyle is the son of the well-known Mike Shanahan, and he has been around the NFL for a while. He's young so we could build around him for a while. He's somebody we could use to build this "continuity" thing everybody is talking about. The wonders he has done with Robert Griffin this season is amazing. Sure, Geno Smith isn't a carbon copy of Robert Griffin, but Geno is very mobile and has a strong arm. K. Shanahan could help turn him into a legit NFL starter. I believe that if we land a top 5 pick and the Chiefs pass on Geno he'll be ours. While I haven't gotten around to figuring out who I want as our coach yet, I think this would be a great offseason for us.
  22. I like Glennon. I understand most say this isn't a good QB draft, but I honestly believe there will be three good QBs out of this draft. I like Smith, Wilson and Glennon the most (I like Barkley, too, but I don't think the weather in Buffalo would help his game at all).
  23. You can't be fired from the head coaching position then stick around to take a lesser job, that just doesn't happen in the NFL.
  24. As you can see by my avatar, I'm a big time fan of Justin Hunter out of Tennessee. I really like him and Terrance Williams. However, I do think we'd be better off signing Bowe or Jennings if we can.
