I think it would be one of the biggest upsets of all time considering what’s on the line for KC. -

Unless Mahomes goes down, there was always no chance KC loses this. They know what they’re playing for. -

Agreed let’s hope this happens, however unlikely it is. But even if KC wins and we end up 2 seed, at least we now know we will not have to end up playing in Arrowhead in a potential AFC championship game. I’ll take a neutral field over Arrowhead any day.- 265 replies

Agreed this would be best. We could have home field throughout. But as it stands now with this ruling, if approved even if KC beats Vegas, which is likely, we no longer will have to go to Arrowhead for AFC championship game. We can have two home playoff games and then neutral field vs KC. After everything that has transpired this year for Buffalo, I think this new path is certainly favorable to going to Arrowhead again. I’m sure KC won’t like this ruling one bit.

The way the Bills lose players to injury every game, I think playing two “practice” games would be the last thing any sane Bills fan would be for. Far better chance we lose additional players to injury in those two games than gaining anything mentally heading into the playoffs.

I get the comparison but not exactly the same thing. Sean Taylor’s death was hundreds of miles away from the players and they didn’t watch medical attention given to their teammate on the field. The Bills were an immediate part of this trauma and present. The Redskins players were not present for Taylor’s suffering. That is a WHOLE different level of mental trauma as the world saw last night on tv on the Bills faces. Yeah more of the coaching staff putting in plans which NFL network reported they were starting to do today. Won’t be easy at all. Certainly not the normal work week for players and coaches. They moved games for Covid. You don’t think they can move games for this? You speak in absolutes. Just state an opinion. What you’re saying is a guess. It’s ok to admit that. Maybe they play Sunday. Maybe they don’t. You and no one else knows if the Bills will actually play this Sunday.

I wouldn’t bet on that. That game is now four days away. The Bills would have been putting in the offensive game plan today in practice. None of that is happening and the players heads will not be in the proper place to absorb a game plan most likely the next few days. I think Bills actually playing the Pats on Sunday is unlikely. And if they do play on Sunday with limited prep and their heads not right, would more than likely lead to them losing to the Pats anyways. No Bills fan should be wanting them to play in four days, it most likely won’t end the way we’d all want.

Playoff Solutions Assuming they don’t replay the Bengals game.

I think Buffalo is going to have an almost impossible time getting ready to play the Pats by next weekend mentally. They sure as hell won’t be ready to play the Bengals in the next 2-3 days. -
I’m almost positive no NFL team has ever had the amount of adversity that the Bills have had this year. All the injuries, the November storm, two games in Detroit in a week, Christmas storm, 3 nights in Chicago, and now Hamlin. I believe it’s unprecedented. If someone knows of a NFL team dealing with more in one season, please feel free to correct me.

It actually would matter if it got down to the two options you listed. Forfeiture or go by conference win %. If we have to forfeit we will almost certainly end up the 3 seed. If they just eliminate the game or make it a tie, and go by win % then we would almost certainly end up the 2 seed. Neither is the 1 seed obviously, but 2 seed would be preferable to 3 seed. But I can’t imagine Cincy would be happy to go by win percentage. Just as Buffalo would prefer not to have to forfeit. I don’t see how the NFL can make each team happy or make things fair without somehow finishing the game. I just don’t know how they can reschedule at this point. I’m sure plenty of high level meetings will take place at the NFL office today. -

Bills haven’t had high success on coin flips this year so far. Wouldn’t like our chances.
