Denver would most likely offer Payton the most money and power. I’d still put Denver at #3 for him behind Dallas and LAC. After this weekend we will know whether there are any vacancies in those two cities.

I think Dallas is Payton’s first choice, followed closely by the Chargers job. McCarthy and/or Staley both could be fired if their teams lose this weekend if those teams believe they can get Payton in there.

Hopkins has a no trade clause. So I doubt he’d be willing to come to Buffalo or really almost anywhere without getting a new contract as a condition of him waiving his no trade.

At first I immediately dismissed the idea of us taking a TE in the first round. BUT, as you’ve pointed out if this kid can block really well then he could be helping out the offense two-fold by catching the ball, taking pressure off Knox, and also by helping out the running game if his blocking skills can translate to the pro game. If this kid is the real deal, it actually makes some sense.

Hopefully they won’t be able to determine who the source was, especially if it’s a Bills source, which I think most likely it was. Beane was standing directly behind McDermott when he was doing the phone call with Aponte and Zac Taylor in the tunnel when they kept showing video of that on MNF that night. I don’t want the Bills to have to fear retribution from the league or Vincent because of them doing the right thing that night when the league was clearly pushing otherwise.
