  1. Question: Given all C.J.'s faults, why draft a player that high that can't block, has bad field vision and only good when out in the open/flat?
  2. by having the largest (est) O-line in the league use a zone blocking scheme??
  3. This was awesome: thank you very much. I love these level of breakdowns. One issue I see, is that the current O line has already shown how bad they can be - these schemes require mobile/agile and coordinated run blocking. All things the Bills O line is NOT. Not to mention the number of penalties this group would incur. They draft HUGE O lineman and then expect them to be running all over the place: See 2014 O line draft. Thoughts?
  4. Very good post IMO. This will be his 6th season I believe. If he is used perfectly, like Chan did, he's great. Otherwise, not so much. This past year, 1 TD, 3 fumbles, 19 receptions. He was injured missing 7 games. How much do you pay a guy like that?
  5. Thanks C.J. Two VERY high draft picks that did virtually nothing to get this team to 9-7, RB heard from. I do like CJ, just not that much anymore.
  6. PLEASE remove this thread.... please.
  7. I didn't mention ESPN, I said Mort and "him", so you don't follow...
  8. C.J.is a 1 trick pony, IMO, and had success when Gailey custom tailed things around him. Never breaks a tackle and runs OOB.
  9. My thoughts on " Chris Mortensen's 5 thoughts on the Bills Thanks for nothing, again, Chris. I see his as more of a mouthpiece for organizations more than anything.
  10. NFL Draft can't get here soon enough.....
  11. How is E.J. any better then when he came out of college? I have seen several reviews/analysis of him and the same issues are there. He has show the ability to get out of bounds and get "down" not taking hits, but that's about it...
  12. Sounds a lot like E.J. to me: http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1664902/bryce-petty
  13. Very well said. I like it...
  14. He seems to me to be a very average player, which is fine, on a very good defense. Easily replaceable. No real upside. I think the issue also is, he, like any DB, is going to benefit from a GREAT front line play. What is Searcy's level of play on a D with an average line?
  15. Don't overpay for mediocre talent: http://www.buffalorumblings.com/buffalo-bills-opinion/2015/2/18/8057849/danorris-searcy-nfl-free-agency-2015-value-buffalo-bills
  16. 9th overall pick in the 2010 draft. You're not starting, you're a bust. He did have that one good year under Gailey however. Never seems to break any tackles, and his field vision seems not good the the position. Seems to run out of bounds a lot also. IMO
  17. + 100 DON'T waste the Bills first round pick on a RB. Go O-line, please.
  18. Sorry John, I couldn't resist. BTW: my daughter/son-in-law lives in Menifee, I'm out there pretty often, so we're KIND of neighbors!!
  19. I don' recall E.J. progressing at all last year, and don't recall him playing anything close to "good". He could redeem himself with good QB play, however that hasn't happened and the only progress that I recall is showing the ability to run out of bounds or get "down" when needed. Is this John from Hemet???
  20. 47 receptions and 3 TD? Definite upgrade time. http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/10572/scott-chandler
  21. Good option. How much do you pay your 3rd or 4th best D lineman? Remember, they've already got a whole lot tied up in Super Mario and Dareus. I don't recall exactly how much.
  22. Jerry Hughes has been a great addition and player in this awesome D line, however he certainly benefits from playing alongside Pro Bowl talent and in a scheme that apparently favors him as well. That being said, how could the Bills even possibly keep him given that the franchise tag would be $15M approx? I'm not saying anyone is worth that, however is he as good as gone in light of the fact Buffalo doesn't even have a starting QB on the roster, or does this not even matter to some? Will ANYBODY pay Hughes that kind of money? http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/02/11/2015-nfl-free-agency-dates-and-deadlines/ February 16: First day for clubs to designate Franchise or Transition Players.
  23. Exactly, spot on. Given all of Marrone's issues, and limitations, at least he had the good sense to discard Thad Lewis and the Tuel MAN before the season started, and yank E.J. after the first few games. I do give him a lot of credit for that...
  24. LOL! I concur... I threw that out there as an EXTREME example. Teams did have trouble stopping them for a while, which eventually ended. I give John Fox a lot of credit. He's gone now from Denver I believe. Possibly seeing the hand writing on the wall re: Manning? + 1 Agree. They need to get who they can, hope for the best, and bring in the next guy. I would seriously draft QB each year until they get starting, backup and developing QB's on the roster. Make take a few years. I'm fine with that. Let's hope they can stop trading away 1st round picks...
