  1. I loved that they didn’t call all this nonsense. If I had a gripe, they should have let the Oliver one go too— he just nailed him in the chest as the ball was released. the QB hit stuff and taunting calls are getting so annoying. The last think I want to see is another Land Clark game, where they are calling this every other play.
  2. Thanks! I like the idea of trying with a chicken As a test. We have the joe Junior at our lake cottage. So I may invest in a bigger smoker at our regular house.
  3. Agreed generally. But I think losing a CB1 usually is harder to replace than a RB.
  4. Did you all use a regular smoker, or an egg (or something else)? i really want to try this, but I have a Kamado joe Junior— and so am Not sure I have enough space to smoke a Turkey, even if spatchcocked.
  5. i could be wrong— But if you look at the good starting CB’s in the NFL over the last 20 years, they almost all have been 1st and 2nd round picks. No doubt that there are some exceptions (like Richard Sherman), but they seem rare. It’s why the eagles under Reid used to draft CB’s in the first or second rounds just about every year. Just look at the top 20 CB’s in the NFL now. They are almost all 1st and 2nd round picks.
  6. Agreed. The double move is his kryptonite. What Dane does really well is have very good cover skills (turns his head around, plays the ball); and he seems like a great tackler and is excellent in run support. What Dane seems to struggle with is biting on double moves and not having great closing foot speed.
  7. I am just plain confused by Benny Williams. Was thinking he would contribute more. He looks hopeless shooting the ball. i will say that the one positive to come out of this tournament is that Edwards looks like he could develop into the best center we have had in the last 20 years.
  8. forgot about cam Lewis— I thought he played pretty well in his limited action.
  9. If you look at starting CB’s in the NFL (esp CB1), they are mostly first and second round picks. That’s just the reality. Guys like Norman, Sherman are the rare exceptions to the rule. i just pulled up this PFF list of top CB’s in the NFL, and they are pretty much all 1st and 2nd round picks. it’s just a position where draft position correlates much more highly to NFL success. https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-cornerback-rankings-the-32-best-outside-cornerbacks-entering-the-2021-nfl-season
  10. schematically, I believe both the saints and pats play a ton of man coverage too.
  11. i think they go corner or at least a DB of some kind in the first two rounds. I was worried about our safeties already getting up there in age. Corner is one of those positions too where you need to invest a 1st or 2nd round pick. Not a lot of elite “sleepers” you can get later on.
  12. They are going to insert Dane Jackson and hope for the best.
  13. Haack is terrifying. Not only was his release slow, but he had this weird low line drive trajectory on his kicks, making them even more susceptible to a block. Like you said, every one of his punts looked like they were about to be blocked.
  14. But those 26 yards were the best 26 yards I have seen!! in all seriousness, Breida’s carries were pretty interesting— lots of longish runs (9, 6, 5, etc) mixed with negative runs (-4, etc.) what’s nice is that his good runs have the ability to be much bigger gains than our other RB’s.
  15. oh man. I was just about to pop in for my daily dome post, and you beat me to it.
  16. loved this crew. Made the game totally watchable. I even liked them not calling the roughing calls.
  17. At this rate, we are going to need to clone Spencer Brown and play him at every position on the line.
  18. EJ is waiting for us to call; sign him; and then he can steal our money for playing 2 quarters.
  19. dang, you’re a regular Nostradamus!!
  20. Very weird game from Josh. I am still trying to process the first half. It wasn’t really the interceptions. It was more of the hesitancy and seeming confusion. That surprised me, because the saints, I think, mostly played a lot of man. Will be curious to hear the experts’ take on it.
  21. guy is my new favorite ref— made the game very watchable. Called only the very blatant stuff.
  22. Agreed. People want to rip Ford. Child please. Both dawkins and Ike were horrendous. The entire left side of the line tonight was a disaster.
  23. made me like twice as nervous as McKenzie on his returns.
  24. i hear ya— but I think it is slightly different in the sense that I think what we are seeing is the Bills O starting to figure out the right balance. They still aren’t there, but tonight showed a really great trend. My hope is in the next few weeks, they will figure out exactly schematically and personnel-wise the type of offense to be.
