FG is fine. That’s how you beat the jets. We win this with our defense and ST, and let their offense make mistakes.

The Steelers are going to be the #1 seed

that game sort of proved my original point. Despite their poor talent and coaching on the offense side, they are in every game down to the last play. Just a weird team. -

exactly right. I also appreciate the dig at Staley, who I thought was overrated from Day 1. The guy was barely a position coach and then took credit for Fangio’s scheme, and somehow ends up being heralded as some young genius. He should have been coaching linebackers in LA for the last 5 years. -

they also lead the league with 18 takeaways, which often lead to scores. They also are top-5 in defensive negative plays and top-5 in red zone defensive efficiency. don’t get me wrong— talent and scheme wise, they should be like 2-7 right now. They just amazingly win all these games. And their schedule gets easier now. It’s nuts. -

what if this is the mean? the difference is tomlin: “Mike Tomlin finds a way in these muck-and-grind affairs. Somehow, the Steelers have won a franchise-record eight consecutive one-score games. They have won 95 one-score games since Tomlin became coach in 2007, more than any team in the NFL, according to a graphic on the CBS telecast.” https://www.post-gazette.com/sports/joe-starkey/2023/11/12/matt-canada-patrick-peterson-elandon-roberts-mike-tomlin-packers-afc-north-standings/stories/202311070166# -
haha. I can relate to Bell. I play a lot of rec ball, and I am there to basically drain buckets, not get an elbow to the face. but to your last point, I was puzzled at how Naheem got worked by these 6’8” power forward at Colgate. I assumed too he would be a major upgrade on the boards from Edwards— obviously very wrong about that.

The poor rebounding against Colgate was alarming. They should be much better on the defensive glass now that they are playing man. I don’t quite get it.

I have seen dozens of ravens-Steelers games over the years. That one will be like every other one. Going to be a coin flip. The spread doesn’t matter. this Steelers team— which is extremely mediocre— has bucked the odds the entire season, and now has a ridiculously easy schedule down the stretch. -

I hear you. But given that collection of QBs, their defense will score for them and they will win all those games, except possibly the Baltimore game. And that is a divisional game, which will be a total coin flip. Every win has been a coin flip for them this year, and they have won them: “ All six wins for the Steelers this season have come by a single score. The Steelers are 6-3, but outscored on the season by 26 points and for the ninth straight game were outgained by their opponent.” https://www.audacy.com/937thefan/sports/pittsburgh-steelers/steelers-gain-ground-with-a-6th-one-score-win -
I really can’t believe this, but the Steelers will probably end up as the 1-seed with home field advantage, and yet there are probably at least 20 better teams in the NFL. check out the remainder of their schedule: @ CLE (Dorian Thompson-Robinson) @ CIN (Jake Browning) vs AZ (Kyler Murray) vs NE (Mac Jones/Bailey Zappe?) @ IND (Gardner Minshew) vs CIN (Jake Browning) @ SEA (Geno Smith) @ BAL (Lamar Jackson) https://x.com/steelersnetwork/status/1725601870121672977?s=46&t=uEztWLHQe9squs0mVCzJCQ

TNF: Bengals vs Ravens - Who are we rooting for?
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
NFL is going to have to change that rule. Fans are fed up with it. If it is underthrown, should be deemed to be uncatchable. You can’t have receivers just stop and dive back into DBs. It’s absurd. -

Another underthrown ball that is rewarded! -

I want the ravens to win, but this officiating is awful. How do you call both those PI calls on the Bengals? I don’t get it. -

Exactly what the NFL loves to do. Let’s defy common sense and view the catch in 50 frames. Can’t reward a guy for a great catch. -

Only in the alternate world of the NFL is that not a catch. -

was thinking the same thing. Pratt makes a dumb luck fumble on Kincaid, which turns the whole game. And yet this one goes for a ravens TD. -

the problem is that refs often use cheats to call penalties as opposed to actually seeing the penalty. The cheat there on the hold is when a defender looks like he is being turned. the ref didn’t see a hold but automatically infers a hold there— even though a guy can also get turned on a pancake block. -

Queen is so bad. They are intentionally targeting him in coverage. -

I think you need physical corners who can play man against them. And we don’t really have that, except maybe Elam (who has other issues). -

i am not sure if Zac Taylor ever called plays. I think he was a QB coach before he was hired. I never understood why they hired him. -

How about the fake Bledsoe sneak and pitch back to McGahee in that Seattle game (which was the cheeseburger game)?! it’s at about 35 seconds in this video:- 54 replies

to be fair, he was supposed to be the spy on Wilson. Wilson had been in some tough spots with those dumb back handed flips at the last second. -

same with the jets loss. We lost to the jets the same way back in 2001. OT kickoff return for a TD by Morton. it’s a sick cycle!
