Since Nobody Has Made A Post About The Bills Players
KRC replied to Tcali's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yup. Theoretically, it is possible. Last year, they had two Redskins inducted (Green and Monk). I am not going through the entire list of inductees, but I know it happened other years, as well. -

I somehow missed McDaniel in my initial take. Good call. I also don't see Hull getting in, but it would be nice. As far as receivers, I see them putting in Carter (probably this year). I also think that they are going to put in Sharpe. I wouldn't put in Sharpe, but I think Reed is going to have trouble going against those two. The rest of the receivers shouldn't get in, but I would not be shocked if they let in a couple. -
So I see Jerry Jones & Ralph are both on the HOF List
KRC replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Make your travel arrangements, because this will most certainly happen. I don't see Jones getting in this year, but he will definitely get in. I don't see Ralph getting in. -

No problem. From your list, here are my opinions: Bruce Smith - Yup. Andre Reed - Yup. Kent Hull - Yup. Fred Smerlas - Nope. Art Still - Nope. Cornelius Bennett - Nope. Chris Spielman - Nope. Darryl Talley - Nope. Steve Tasker - Yup. Ralph Wilson - Nope. Chuck Knox - Nope. -

You missed Chuck Knox from that list. -
What do you think ... Does Tasker desrve HOF status?
KRC replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think he deserves to be inducted, but it ain't gonna happen. The selection committee will never vote him in (don't get me started on them). -

For those looking for the entire preliminary list, here it is. I highlighted the people I would like to see get in this year. Of course, the HOF selection committee is guaranteed to screw it up again this year, but that is another story. It's Jets week, so I thought we would go back to the first Bills victory over the New York Titans (now called the Jets). The game was played September 17, 1961. New York Titans vs. Buffalo Bills Next Week: Boston Patriots vs. Buffalo Bills (September 23, 1960)

Happy Birthday Lori, Crusoe, and my wife today!

Happy birthday to Lori and everyone else sharing Lori's birthday!! -
My guess is that the AAFC wanted to have a presence in Baltimore in order to compete with George Preston Marshall's Washington Redskins. Baltimore was originally going to have a franchise. They dropped out at the last minute because the owner had military obligations (that whole war thingy that was going on at the time). Miami was accepted as a franchise to replace Baltimore. I am guessing that they still wanted to let Baltimore know that there was a desire to have a franchise in Baltimore. When Miami was having financial difficulties, they folded and a different Baltimore group stepped up to purchase a franchise. That franchise was named the Colts.

Yup. We drafted Donovan.

Would anyone have an issue with moving TSW to...

Don't worry. I'll e-mail you. Now, where do I have Beerball's e-mail address? [/conveniently loses Beerball's e-mail address] -
Who likes the "new" look of the Bills website
KRC replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It doesn't work in my browser. Seriously, do they actually test these things on multiple platforms before deployment? How can you not do that? It is standard programming practice. -
Since this is Miami week and we have not discussed the All-America Football Conference (AAFC), I thought I would focus this week's Historical GOTW on the Miami Seahawks. This August 30th preseason matchup is the first ever meeting between the Seahawks and the Buffalo Bisons. Hsitorical Game of the Week Next week: September 17, 1961 New York Titans vs. Buffalo Bills

That is why stats, without context, are meaningless.

Nope. Not Van Miller. I forget who was the PBP guy on it. I will have to listen to it again to find out.
-
Note, I said NFL. Possibly. I do not follow exhibition games too closely, so I cannot answer.

Very special birthday wishes to my better half!! Also, HFBD to pandaman and Biscuit

Who Picked Those Colors for the Titans in 1960???
KRC replied to VJ91's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That was the silver helmet with blue jersey's and white pants, correct? A little bit of trivia: They were an exact copy of the uniforms used by the original Bills in the 1940s. -
It's hard to say. The NFL has always been afraid of playing teams from other leagues. It is much easier to just dismiss them than to try to prove it on the field. Just look what the Browns did to the Iggles in 1950. IMO, the 64 team would have done better than the 65 team. The 65 team had too many offensive weapons gone from the 64 lineup. They would have more difficulty scoring points.

The Historical GOTW has hit the big time: hosting on TBD. We are in the process of building the History section of TBD and the Historical GOTW is the first item in that section. This week, I thought I would toss something out to the youngin's who remember the 1965 AFL Championship game. 1965 AFL Championship Game This is the last game where I will be providing the box score and play-by-play. In the future, you will be able to access the boxscore in the TBD history section. It will take a little time, however, for this to be finished. I will let you know when it is done. Box Score and Play by Play You can access all of the GOTW articles here.

You might also see it called the flying wedge, but it is when the linemen form a V or wedge shape to block for the runner. It was pretty effective, but caused a lot of injuries. As a result, it was banned in the mid 1890s. As far as the PBP, I just provided the information I was able to obtain. If I did not know the type of running play, I listed it as "Run." If I was able to find the type of running play (wedge, off-tackle, center rush, etc), I would list it as such.

They should be on YouTube. Thank you.
