  1. Then the problem is the archaic business model, not the better mousetrap that has been invented and works spectacularly well. That might be the stupidest attempt at justifying something I've ever read. Uber is bad because a corrupt monopoly drove up its entry price to absurd levels? And 'cabbies' don't own medallions. Cabbies work for the handful of companies who own them and manipulate the market. We won't even get into the idiotic 'employer/employee relationship' comment.
  2. Never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city.
  3. I liked Stevie but let's be honest, he was a loser. This team was desperately in need of shedding losers like Stevie & Fitz. Getting any draft pick for him was a win.
  4. Thank you. 31 words. Well done. Well, nothing wrong with increasing efficiency I suppose.
  5. Same here. Someone please explain in 100 words or less without the use of links or videos. More than that would require a level of care that I just don't possess.
  6. Yup. Only silver lining to this whole ****ty mess. Disgraceful POS, stood by and watched it happen for decades simply to protect his own ego. If there is a hell, I hope he is burning in it.
  7. Maybe we should pay a little attention to the fact that our federal and state governments have turned into 'revenue makers' at every turn and at every opportunity, huh?
  8. Fixed. I've seen very few exceptions to this rule in my life.
  9. As always, alcohol reveals one's true character. p.s. In his defense, bacon and jalapeno mac 'n cheese sounds amazing.
  10. A kickoff specialist is merely a public announcement that the team was too incompetent to procure the services of a decent kicker.
  11. Poems, everybody! Poems! The laddie reckons himself a poet!
  12. Yes, but 248 out of 20 million or so black males does put the hysteria into some perspective. According to many sources, zero. Which probably explains why some people have a hard time ginning up the required outrage when you get the rare case (like in MN) where at first glace the shooting appears unjustified. Call it the Michael Brown effect.
  13. Actually it's usually a disaster, but NBC just doesn't mention that. Yes, I think rugby is a good addition. Which is rare since most additions to the Olympics are horrible. In 1980 there were 204 events, in 2016 there will be 306. A whole lot of **** has been added in the last few decades.
  14. Some 19 year old assistant manager, just like with every other movie theater in the US. I don't think the answer is TSA checkpoints outside movie theaters (and shopping malls, supermarkets, concerts, fireworks displays, high school football games, train stations, bus stops, etc., etc., etc.)
  15. Which -- as far as I've always understood it -- you are not allowed to do while you are physically resisting arrest. I'm not sure how this whole 'cops are required to get me to agree to be arrested before I have to stop fighting them' mentality got started but it's been a feature of almost every one of these shooting situations. Arguing that you did nothing wrong is supposed to happen in court.
  16. LOL -- "Dad, why are those two guys holding hands?" -- me, on my first visit to P-town, circa 1978. Ocean side is beautiful and fun for a day at the beach; we'll usually do a day at Nauset or Cahoon Hollow beach, but no way you can take young kids into that surf. As for Maine, we had a nice week at Sebago Lake a few years ago. Not much of a town near where we stayed on the east side, but the lake is great. I'd do that again over an ocean front trip.
  17. Which ones again begs the question, why the !@#$ was he fighting the cops?
  18. Go to Cape Cod and stay on the bay side. Great towns, warm water, no surf, gentle slope, the low tide creates hundreds of yards of tide pools to explore, etc. Perfect for little kids.
  19. That was his point; thinking that a ring is the only validation of a career is foolish. Which is why he's disappointed that Durant holds that view to such an extent that he'd join an existing championship team as the #3 guy just to get one.
