Tank cut - Carder to Cleveland Browns
billrooter replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What i find amusing is people on this board make posts such as, everyone likes his name and if you know the game of football and watch him you see hes' lost. I have watched every preseason game and i am now watching the lions game less than a quarter left, i only played inside lber for 9 years through high school and as i am expecting the guy to not play well in this game, i am watching him make plays when hes' on the field, he has great football instincts and he doesn't wait downfield like alot of linebackers he gets of his block and goes to the line and makes the hit. In my opinion he got the shaft here, he might or might not turn out to be a solid pro but i am expecting he will, i think they blew it on him. Bradham as previously stated made it for his special teams skills as did White they must prefer that more in a backup, but in my opinion he turns out better than Sheppard, hopefully i am wrong because Sheppard is here and hes' gone. His skill set, speed, instincts, and sideline to sideline capabillities blows Sheppard away, if he was our 4th rounder he'd also still be on the team. As a disclaimer every year i like most others don't like some of the Bills' cuts and i have been wrong before. I also liked the play in this game of Aiken, he looks like a real confident receiver that fights for the ball! Did you watch any of the games, that is a generalization, he is not slow footed and doesn't play stiff you have no clue in my opinion! -
What a turd! Speedy recovery Ralph.

Bills need to fix LB's and DB's core
billrooter replied to TitansBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tank Carder is the name, and chances are like most 6th rounders he's not the answer, i can honestly say i have only seen him in last weekends preseason game (have yesterdays dvred), but based of of that i like his instincts, sideline to sideline pursuit and willingness to stick his helmet in the thick. I want to see what this guy can do before i write him off and more of Mckillop as well, Sheppard didn't impress me at all last year, he seems to slow, and lacks instincts. When the bills drafted him i liked Mason Foster alot better and i think foster was drafted later but might be wrong on that. I never noticed Aaron Williams at safety last year either as the previous posters' acknowledged though i may be wrong. -
Actually i wanted to see him play more last year to see what he had, did i miss something i didn't see him on the field for more than 20 plays?

What would you expect to get out of a guy that was classless, and a thuggish punk who was one strike away from a big suspension? The bill's were cutting their ties from an ignorant pick the previous regime made, you hardly ever get true value with a trade when it involves draft picks, if i recall marshall faulk was traded for a 2nd rounder. In my opinion Freddy had not exploded yet because he was never given a fair chance to be the starter, he played great football when he was splitting time also, once the offense started to roll a bit it opened up space for him to fully shine. I like the previous poster must hold higher expectations for a running back that was chosen 9th overall, to me franchise backs are picked that high, i hope spiller turns into one but him starting 6 games and staying healthy hasn't convinced me he's turning into a great back. I was dumbfounded with the pick when it happened and i am fine with it now and just hope it turns out for the best, but he has alot of work left to do for me to consider it a great pick or developing into a great pick, he don't have the instincts most great backs have.

RD 1, Pick #10: DB Stephon Gilmore - South Carolina
billrooter replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I didn't see cb as big of a need as alot of people and not overly happy with the pick, but if he turns out to be In Winfields' class i will be extremely happy, he is one of my all time favorite bills players. -
Mock With Redskins Trade is Up...

I am a husker fan and would love to have Crick in the second round, i'm just not sure he makes it to our pick. He didn't workout at the combine and curious if anyone knows' if he's going to be ready for nebraskas pro day? I think that would be a really solid pick at the very least and he could turn into a beast for us.

who is the best 4-3 DE in this draft?
billrooter replied to EldaBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know very little of Geathers' but seen him as out pick today i think on drafttek, so i would imagine he did. It stated as i am sure you already know bot we could put him, williams, heard as out dt's and leave Dareus at his natural position end if we go to the 43, and since he's 350 i think they referred to fat pat in the 34. I found the mocks at footballs future they have quite a bit of them up now. -
Brandon Lloyd as a possible fit?
billrooter replied to billrooter's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah i recall he was talked about when he was up for the trade, i was talking recent threads on free agent receivers i haven't seen him mentioned in those. The having not won, wherever he has been to me is a crap shoot, good players get stuck on ****ty teams obviously, we've had that here. The attitude issues would be a concern, just figured he might be an option and cheaper than alot of the other big names. -
Brandon Lloyd as a possible fit?
billrooter replied to billrooter's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree just find it strange with all the names mentioned in free agency his hasn't popped up on here yet, you'd still think that he'd have 3-4 years of productive football left, and coming off a down year might be cheaper than the big names but could possiby put up a nice year like 2010. -
I've seen alot of guy's mentioned here but haven't seen anyone mention Brandon Lloyd, i in fact like some of the other guy's more, but he's an interesting guy. He's not a big receiver but is really athletic and in my opinion what i have seen of him can make plays. He is 30 and also just had a down year and perhaps could be had for a better price than alot of the big names, I would love to see the likes of Colston come here but a guy like him is almost a guarantee to be signed to a big contract and out of Bufalos' price range (though i hope it's just a thing of the past).

My thoughts exactly and as posted i am wondering why Morrison hasn't seen hardly any time, sheppard looks like he lacks instincts and is slow, on the plus side looks like he brings a punch when he gets to the ball.

Anyone else not enthralled by the DLs after Fairley?
billrooter replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow if the guy actually run's a 4.5 40 i am very impressed, can't think of anyone that big ever being that fast! I would think come workout time he is nowhere near that fast, a 4.8 would be extremely impressive for a man that big. -
The 3-4 i guessed on were off he had 8 a previous poster looked it up, but he had 31 receptions and i'll admit his receiving wasn't as good this year. In previous years i tend to disagree though as i remember it, fred was a very good receiving back i hope this is just not a figment of my imagination and i'll admit i am biased he's one of my favorite players' on the team!
-
Did you read the post i replied to? He questioned how much i watched the bills, thats' more or less 20 percent not 25 and the guy stated he dropped just about everything thrown to him. I admitted he didn't have a great year catching the ball but throughout his career he has been a very good receiving back as i posted and i consider him a better receiving back than Marthug that was the disagreement. He also had a cast his first attempt at a reception, people are entitled to there own opinions but ML has a big game and suddenly half the board says he's better than Jackson i disagree that's what the whole topic was about to begin with.
-
hey to defend my post further Fred Jackson had 31 receptions this year, so how many drops did he have i am guessing since he dropped almost every time they through to him he had like 50 right? Good lord you need to watch the games bro!
-
Totally disagree with you as does billsphan, seattle won the game yesterday but were a piss poor team all year that was so undeserving of the playoffs and especially a home game. They would have got smoked if it were in New Orleans and will get smoked next week likewise! This hardly ever happens probably never happened a team with a losing record making the playoffs that is, especially winning a division and as bad as the nfc west has been in the past somwhow it got way worse this season. The giants and tampa bay are sitting home today at 10-6 playing a much tougher schuedule than a lousy 7-9 team that won yesterday. I obviously didn't watch the games, i have had the nfl ticket since it came out and i missed one half of bills football this year while traveling for the holidays, Fred had 3-4 drops this year i will admit that but since he has been here he has been a hell of a receiving back, do you disagree with that? What gets me is that a fan that knows nothing about how hard i follow the bills' would question this, your right with one point he had more drops than i can remember this year, so you think ML is a better receiving back and has been when they were together with the bills, if your answer is yes then maybe you haven't watched enough bills football.

Fortunately there are other traits' to being a running back than just a power runner, Jackson is a much better cut guy, receiver, picks up blitzes better and outperformed Marthug the last two years on the field. He is a dependable teammate for this bills' that no time soon will be suspended for four games also for being a jackass.
-
Harder than anyone else on the field he was an all effort runner but in my opinion so is Fred Jackson and much more productive when doing it!
-
He should of just hit the hole with his power, and him having half or even a third of a brain would have helped, the guy was nothing but a thuggish punk that Jackson outperformed every which way you looked and i for one am happy he is gone!
-
Comeon JP wasn't drafted that long ago to forget was he, i realize you might want to but he was out last!

Lynch named 'starter' ---Jackson still workhorse
billrooter replied to BillsFanInLV's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nice reply and thank you for the spelling correction looks as if that private education came in handy! I want to appologize for my language it was offensive to some i guess, but your posts confuse me so who do you think should start? I agree Spiller is our rb of the future but right now there is no space for him to be used unless it's on screens, i think right now Jackson provides us with the best chance of winning and that he in my opinion is better than Lynch. -

How enlightening, why because he's 30 or not a punk?
