  1. Jeff Tuel's ceiling maybe a bad 2nd string QB but more likely it's a 3rd string QB/practice squad guy. Thad is better than Tuel but I don't know why the Bills didn't consider upgrading the backup QB position.
  2. Graham and Brooks are as good as gone. FB's aren't valuable. Don't think Urbik would get cut. I'd put Anthony Dixon on the list of guys who could be cut.
  3. I don't see it happening in Denver. They let Moreno walk. I think 4-5 million dollar seems about right. I don't think any back will get big money in the near future. Teams don't value them at all.
  4. With teams playing more of a spread offense I'd guess that they expect team to play 3 cb more often than not.
  5. I'm not an expert on NHL salary cap but I recall having to trade Biron because of Connolly coming back and not going over the cap in the Presidents trophy year. He won't lose money in the NFL. He'll make money if he buys the Bills so I don't get the comparison to the NHL. Maybe he saved the Sabres maybe he didn't. I know Hamister fell through. I don't get how any fan could be disappointed with a guy buying a team and ensuring they stay here.
  6. I'd say it was more the fault of a bad GM. Drury left and was a horrific signing by the Rangers. Briere was also amnestied I believe. They re-signed guys like Afinogenov and Kotalik over Dumont. Also paid Connolly twice along with some other horrible signing. Not like Pegula has had success since taking over right? Anybody who keeps the Bills in Buffalo I'm all for.
  7. If the ownership changes I think it's playoffs or bust. Although I think if Golisano is the owner I think the staff will stay. Crossman should've been fired. I don't think if the Bills do fire Whaley and/or Marrone at the end of the year how attractive the job will be. No 1st rd pick and if the Bills are bad I think that will mean Manuel hasn't improved.
  8. The media may love to hate but for the last decade teams have loved to see both on the schedule. Both have topped out at average. Derek Anderson, Kelly Holcomb, and Drew Bledsoe who was washed up would be the glory days. Let's not get overly sensitive to two teams that have been pathetic.
  9. OROY 1. Evans 2. Johnny Manziel DROY 1. Clowney 2. Justin Gilbert
  10. I think McKelvin is the best DB on the roster coming off last year. Chris Williams as a pro bowler is puzzling.
  11. To an extent. Gailey's answer of "it was Fred's turn," was pathetic and puts him at fault. Jeremy White harps on teams using a QB sneak on 3rd and 1 or less, and I agree with that. If I had to choose between Jackson or Spiller on a 3rd and 1, I'd take Jackson. The play that comes to mind is Spiller fumbling vs New England at home two seasons ago on the goal line. On the other side of it a 3rd and maybe 6 late in the game where Spiller ran to the huddle when I think Jackson was hurt, Gailey sent in Tashard Choice. That play was maybe vs the Titans or the Rams.
  12. I think Dixon was brought in for ST and will be lucky to make the roster. You always mention Spiller and short yardage but isn't it more of an indictment on Jackson who should be the guy getting the ball in short yardage situation?
  13. Fred Jackson is a good player and a better story. Who also was missed significant time the two seasons prior to last. He's 33. Now that Stevie is gone C.J. will be the new number 1 target for fans. Not sure who'll move into the 2 spot.
  14. The guy averaged more YPC than AP, Lynch, Gore and had a "down year." He was ineffective at times but so was the whole team. Having a guy who hopefully will be a true #1 in Watkins should help everybody on the offense. It's not like the guy was Trent Richardson. Every RB brought in means the end of Spiller I guess. Dixon with 2.0 ypc and 56 rushing yards last season should be a viable replacement, right?
  15. Running backs aren't being paid much. Moreno got 1 yr/3 mil. I don't think any running back would get a 5 yr/40 mil contract going forward. If he has a huge year he might be able to get half that.
  16. I think the Browns had a great draft before the news of Gordon facing a year long ban came out. After that they've got Jordan Cameron and not much else in terms of play-makers on offense.
  17. "That's how a team goes 6-10 at best." Or the obvious "It'll make the new owner firing Whaley and Marrone easier."
  18. I think Ebron would be the most likely out of the guys available. I wouldn't pass on Manziel at 9 but that's now how I think the Bills will be going. I wouldn't take any offensive lineman in the 1st rd, ever. That debate has been beaten to death on this board. If the Bills go OT I think Matthews is the best OT in the draft. Trading down is the easiest thing to say to do but the hardest thing to accomplish. If the top 8 played out like that i'd trade down at a discount rate.
  19. The Browns taking a RT at 4 trumps the Bills taking one at 9. I get the idea of Matthews at 9. Martin would be such a disappointing pick.
  20. He wasn't able to beat out Kendall Hunter for carries. Lamichael James had more rushing yards.
  21. In his defense he once averaged 3.7 YPC in a season.
  22. I disagree. I think it'll take probably a 1st, 2nd, and late pick. All depends on what happens. Jay Glazer reports that Cleveland won't take Manziel at 4. I'm not sure. I think the first trade up in the draft will be for Manziel.
  23. It was rumored when the Colts were in the Afc East and traded Faulk for a 2nd and a 5th the Dolphins offered significantly more. Colts wouldn't trade him in division or conference for that matter. I'd pass on Beckham at 9.
