Rex got really sheepish when the Petty question was asked...totally out of character for him. It was like when your brother asked you about a girl you secretly liked a lot when you were in middle school. My read is they like him a lot....

Weeb Ewbank was Joe's coach--he beat Don Shula in THE GAME. Joe never played for Don Shula or Tom Landry so he knows them by reputation. Jace Amaro is more credible than Joe Namath on this topic. In defense of Rex -- when Tannenbaum left and the team had the marketing meeting to move away from "Rex as face of the franchise" he knew he was out. How motivated would you be to be a hard ass those last two years. I hear him talking about EJ getting the ball out quicker and players needing to improve already with the Bills -- he focuses his accountability to play on the field. With leaders like Kyle, Freddy and Wood -- I think the Bills have enough guys that will self govern each other if tardiness or off field stuff comes up. Rex should not be the first line of defense for tardiness -- he should be the guy who cuts the habitual offender who doesn't get the message from the player leaders, the position coaches, etc.

Yep! With family -- most amazing game in stadium I have ever been to.... Dibbs will keep me honest on this -- but don't forget the top 51 rule...Lets say the Bills sign Smith to a vet min contract (which is $970,000 for a 10 year vet) and Landry and Spikes to $1.5 million contracts -- three contacts with $585,000 (which several players on the Bills around the 51st salary make) in base fall off the top 51 which means that the Bills get $1.755 million in "falling out of the top 51" cap room for these new contracts -- essentially only raises the cap commit by $2,215,000 to sign these three players to contracts that reflect their worth. The Bills give up a compensatory draft pick next year if they sign Smith or Landry before May 12th as others have said -- so unless there is a huge market for either -- they are probably waiting... Would rather already have it in muscle memory--its an attitude. The Senior Bowl isn't Suh. Not just pushing back just to be an a'hole my friend -- just have not been as impressed with the available G's as the pundits... I love Cordy as a T -- which is the original thing you called me on -- you were right. But if the Bills draft a pure T and Henderson and say Humphries are better in Kromer and Roman's mind -- what do you to with Cordy?--he is definitely one of the best 5... I'll leave it at that...

I have watched most of them during the season -- what concerns me is Cann, Tomlinson and Jackson seem to be wait and catch pass protectors instead of "punch first ask questions later" aggressors--tackles are usually more aggressive in pass protection -- and I can see some of the better DT the Bills face just plowing over the better G's in pass situations......

I misstated on this..guess I could have stated it better this way...none of the 2nd round guards in the draft excite me...I would rather draft a good T who has played some G and projects to either G or T in the pros rather than draft one of the G's. Flowers and Fisher seem to fit this best. However if it came to it and Humphries or Peat were still on the board at 50 with Tomlinson, Jackson, Cann, etc...I would go for Humphries or Peat and then let the competition begin...Humphries and Peat seem to be pure T's

This would be a nice cherry on top of this Sundae of a free agency period....draft a really good OT at 50 (whomever falls of Fisher, Humphries, Peat, Clemmings, Flowers) -- kick Cordy inside to G--and lets kick this baby off...

Sleeper--Jamon Brown for Louisville -- played both RT and LT for the Cards-- has really good burst and punch but gets burned a bit laterally by speed rushes. Has weight control issues as well. But Bill he has the nasty streak I know you like. He will likely be there with the 5th or one of the two 6th round picks. He has never played G -- but its easier to kick a guy inside then out and he fits what Coach Kromer has converted to G in the past.
